Everything was great.

A cozy, homely place in a great location close to the airport as well as Mwasalat Bus Station. The stay was comfortable, and it was great meeting and chatting with Ziyad (host) who was helpful with all the information.

Basel is a fantastic host, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere where people from various countries come together. He made everyone feel incredibly welcome and had planned an exciting trip to a desert camp. There were also opportunities to socialize with his friends, who gathered to watch soccer matches and play local music. The surroundings offered convenient access to local attractions, with buses connecting to other parts of Oman and easy taxi availability through an app.

To be honest, I barely recognize the pictures that are shown here. Also, I don't understand how the reviews are so positive. The room I stayed in was very very dirty, especially the bathroom. Even though all the girls I shared the room with checked in around the same time as I did, the room was full of stuff: (dirty?) laundry, the desk was full of someone's personal items, there was barely space to move because of how much stuff was laying around

Great place: beautiful building in beautiful area, close to the bus station, markets, restaurants and the beach, big rooms and bathrooms, well equipped kitchen, great owner: warm, easygoing, cheerful, great guests: openminded and friendly.

The owner of the place Basil is really amazing, very helpful & kind, he allowed me to sleep till 2PM regardless of the checkout time of 10AM for free as he saw me going to sleep at 7AM, just ask him if he can allow he will just let you know & met some amazing people from UK & Africa & there are many more things, i was just there for a day, so didn’t go out much just to supermarket, the villa is located in a very good residential area, bus to airport is 650 metres till 11PM for 500 Baisa, you can also take a sharing taxi for 1 to 3 Rial.

Perfect location next to the supermarket, beach and public transport with all the amenities you need. However, importantly, it is the vibe of the hostel that makes it stand out. Basil, the owner, is by far the friendliest, most generous and down to earth person you’ll ever meet. Each night we had great conversations, listened to his friends sing and play drums, and drank delectable Arabic coffee. An unforgettable experience staying here and hope to return soon.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Basil's Hostel. As a local, Basil is incredibly knowledgeable about the best places to visit and shares insights into local customs. He goes above and beyond to ensure guests have a fantastic experience and truly enjoy their time in Oman. Additionally, Wifi was good. If I ever find myself back in Muscat, I will definitely be booking with him again!

My second time staying here. Again, great hospitality and vibe at this place. Well located near the airport and with lots of other amenities nearby. Great hostel to start and your journey when exploring Oman.

I think owner did discrimanation with me because he said he prefer old people for the downside bed I was agreed for his goodwill but right after me he gave that bed to white young man even though he came after me. Some friends of our host came in night ,they were playing music, laughing and It was very noisy and I couldn't sleep well. I stayed for a night so I hope it's not same for every night.

The owner was a kind and good Gentlmen, overall hostel was clean and tidy. Location was good. A supermarket and a few restaurants are nearby.
