Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Arab EmiratesThe shower in the room soaks the whole bathroom floor and the cupboard could do with some shelves in it. Other than that nothing could have been better!
Our breakfast was good. The masala chai was outstanding though unfortunately it ran out before we could have another cup. We enjoyed the fruit platters and hard boiled egg on toast. The dining room is wonderfully authentic, spacious and full of atmosphere although relaxing at the same time. The location of Bustan Inn couldn't be better. Having driven through Nizwa Town we were disappointed at how urban it appeared to be, until like magic, having driven down a tiny little street that we doubted google maps for directions wise, the most beautiful little corner of authenticity and true Omani hospitality and culture opened up before us. Bustan Inn is nestled into this corner - a green little haven of peace with its own swimming pool and garden. Nizwa Fort and Castle are a 5 minute pleasanr walk away, with the souqs right next to it. The central location couldn't be better! A special mention of Hanah at reception who made our arrival truly wonderful. An inside and out beautiful soul who welcomed us with real enthusiasm and Omani hospitality. After a delicious treat of Omani halwa we were taken to our room through tiny corridors and up little staircases. We thought we had booked a room with a balcony, but mistakenly we had booked a suite. Moving to a room with a balcony that was tiny but cute with a little chair proved to be no problem at all. Our bed was truly the most comfortable I have ever slept in whether 5 star hotel or tiny Inn. Not too soft and not too hard! We will be back at Bustan Inn for sure!

United KingdomBreakfast was a disaster. When we were there it consisted of dry stale chicken nuggets, falafel wrap, dry fish fingers and tasteless cakes. We stuck to toast and tea most of the time. They need to reevaluate their dishes. May be just offer continental breakfast if its easier. Probably due it being a very old historic building there is an issue with the sewage system. The rooms are slightly dated and have a slight sewage smell, especially after flushing. Also they recommend you dont out any toilet papers down the loo. Be aware it can get very crowded with the parking during the weekend. Also Nizwa centre closes the main streets in the afternoon so if you had been out and want to come back in its a tough diversion with very narrow streets and low walls. Like us if you have a hire car you dont want to risk scratching I suggest you either dont drive in the afternoon or park around the souq and walk back to the hotel (10 min walk)
Great location, walking distance to the Fort, and the Souqs. Very friendly and attentive staff. Small adequate pool if you want to dip your feet in the water when the temperature is boiling but ideally no more than 4 adults can sit in at one time if not it does get a bit too crowded. Nice seats to sit outside in the evening if you want to relax and enjoy the view.

IndiaThis place very nice Omani vibe. It is very close to all the heritage sites in Nizwa. You can walk around the old city from the hotel. The hotel shares walls with the Al Aqur wall which is the most beautiful experience. The staff is very helpful and sweet. Heena who sits at the reception helped us with all the details to go around the city and was always happy to help and kind. If you want to book a taxi from Nizwa to Muscat you ask the hotel staff to help with it. You can use OTaxi app as well to book. From the hotel you can book a tourism cart which takes you around the old City (2 OMR per person )

SlovakiaThe toilet didn't work well and we had to change rooms.
I liked the location, in the heart of the town. Perfect! People at the desk very friendly and helpful. Breakfeast during the ramadan in different hotel, easy walk, no problem. All good, expect the room that was offered to us was small. They looked bigger from the pictures. Anyway very satisfied. Thanks for all.

FranceThere is a pool but not heated so unusable in winter months. There could be more lounge chairs in the garden.
Location, beautiful outdoor space below the walls of the city (but not much furniture to sit or relax)

United KingdomBreakfast was average at best. Tables were slow to be cleared and weren’t cleaned. Limited food selection Noisy air conditioning in room
Fantastic location at the entrance to the old town. Everything within easy walking distance. Nizwa is being restored very quickly. The walls, fort & Souq a highlight. Lots of western cafes/coffee shops. Restaurants tend to be more traditional

United KingdomThe breakfast didn’t quite meet our expectations for the price - not a lot of variety (very beige) and didn’t seem super fresh or hot. Eggs were yummy though!
This is a great place to stay for the location - it is right in the old town! Staff were lovely and very helpful. Parking onsite was good to have too.

PolandBreakfast wasn't too great. Not related to Bustan Inn, but for information: surprisingly there are not that many good places for a dinner in Nizwa old town - I can recommend 'Liwan Nizwa Restaurant'.
Location - old town, so walking distance to all key points of interest; staff helpful and polite; authentic and spacious hotel & rooms - everything's clean; beautiful yard - kids likes the swing, we didn't use the swimming pool as it was not heated. Parking - all okay.

Indiarooms had bright white lights. They could use soft yellow lighting in the room to make it cozy. But that’s just knit-picking
This hotel was Run by Omanis They were very hospitable and extremely helpful. It’s walking distance to all the cafes and restaurants and attractions. There’s parking even though it’s in the old town. Pool was adorable. Our room has very pretty views of the palm tree. I really liked that the room had traditional windows and was done up beautifully.
