We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

CanadaAmazing experience. Left our vehicle at meeting point and paid for return trip transport which was definitely the right choice. Others who drove themselves found driving on the sand and changing road challenging and followed us out on departure. All the staff were great and really wanted everyone to have the best experience. Sunsets from the dunes, tent accommodation, food all great. Didn’t try the shower set up, very basic. Tour to the Bedouin house, camels on the roadside, expert driving through and down the dunes, night time scorpion walk - all amazing. We missed the part in the communications where payment was cash only at time of departure but were able to go to an ATM on our return to the meeting place and take care of payments

United StatesNothing. Everything was perfect!
Excellent stay in the desert! The location was along the edges of the best dunes in the area, so sunset spots are right at your doorstep. The room was clean and comfortable. Dune bashing with Rashid was an amazing and thrilling experience! But the stars were Mr. Salim (cook) and Mr. Jaffer (caretaker) who ensured that the guests had an amazing experience at the camp! Highly recommend!

IndiaRashid Desert Private Camp in Bidiyah, Oman, offers a perfect blend of comfort, adventure, and warm hospitality. The spacious and clean tents provide privacy and modern amenities, with stunning desert views. Rashid, a very humble, nice, friendly, and funny host, along with his welcoming staff, including Salim, who cooked delicious meals, ensures a memorable stay. Guests can enjoy sand dune bashing, ATV riding, and camel riding at a decent price. Sandboards are available for free on the premises for an extra thrill. Rashid even took us for an exciting scorpion hunting experience, adding to the adventure. The camp offers breathtaking sunset and sunrise views over the dunes, creating unforgettable moments. Evenings are made special with a cozy campfire under the starry sky, and there’s even a swing on the premises for guests to relax. Delicious meals are also provided at a nominal price. For those without a 4x4, the camp offers pick-up and drop-off from Bidiyah, making it a hassle-free and authentic desert retreat.

New ZealandNothing. If you are looking for true authentic experience (as opposed to a resort type non authentic one) then this is the camp to chose for sure!
If I was going to move anywhere I think I would move into Rashid’s Desert Camp permanently 😂 Loved it! The hospitality, the kindness, thoughtfulness, conversations. The tent was fabulous! Towels are provided, the beds are super comfortable, and there are chairs and table if you wish to sit on your very own patio area. The location is further into the desert away from the busyness of the other camps that are closer to the desert entrance. And it is in the dunes too. The food was superb and plentiful! Being a small camp it was perfect for having the company and conversations of other people there, or finding a quiet place to simply ‘be’. Walk to the top of the nearby dunes to view the stunning sunrise and sunsets. Other activities are available such as Dune Bashing, camel rides, quad bikes, and other options by arrangement. Just perfect, and my deepest regards and gratitude to Rashid and all the others for such a memorable visit.

SwitzerlandIt was such a pleasure staying at Rashids Camp! We booked two nights and had a wonderful time there. Rashid is an excellent host with a very good heart and a lot of humor. The staff is very helpful, they cook every day freshly for their guests and the camp is perfectly located in the desert. The tents are very spacious and well equipped for all the basic needs you have in a desert. And whats to mention on top is that you can use sandboards for free and if you like you can do a short tour at night where Rashid will show you some fluorescent scorpions..;) We highly recommend Rashid‘s Camp!

7kms from the meeting point -15 minutes by their 4x4 . There were 6 tents -ours was huge -comfortable bed - our own flush toilet, shower and basin. Fan which we didn’t need because there was a gentle evening breeze. Colder than the day but still 17 degrees C. Seats and table to sit out looking at the sunset over the dunes. Rashid and his family were friendly and welcoming. The real star was the chef-fantastic buffet for supper and another for breakfast. Really great experience-a must do for everyone lucky enough to visit Oman. Thank you.

SwitzerlandThere was nothing I did not like, except leaving!
Noteworthy details Rashid (owner) and his brother (Mohammed) are a real treat, charming, knowledgeable, helpful, funny..... Salim (cook) and Gaffer (his helper) are gems in their own right. Attentive when guests eat and always ready to help. Food and drinks Salim (cook) and Gaffer (his helper) do everything, plenty for us vegetarians and also many choices for those that prefer meat. Rooms You sleep in a large tent ... but in a bed. Shower is available and works. It is simple comfortable, very quiet and I slept like a baby. In fact it is so quiet, you might hear a needle drop. Nearby activities The camp offers dune bashing - having Rashid and/or Mohammed drive their vehicle up and down the sand dunes with you as a guest. Another activity you can choose is visit beduins and ride a camel. You might enjoy riding a quad over the dunes. PS. Just relaxing on the veranda with a glas of tea and dates can be fun as well! Safety Very safe. Walkability Walk around as much as you like.... use the boards to slide down the dunes if you want more action. Hotel highlights Luxury, Great view, Quiet, Child-friendly, Great value

PolandAmazing location, among the dunes in the desert. Very intimate, small amount of tents several dozen meters apart, which guarantees privacy for each guest. Rashid the owner is one of the nicest people i ever met shared some stories, jokes 10/10. Delicious dinner and breakfast. If you have AWD car you can ride yourself to the camp. Follow Rashid instructions and you will be good to go.

United KingdomNothing to dislike. Some of the facilities are basic, but we knew that when booking and it's in the middle of the desert, so was expected. You go for the sand and the stars and the amazing views!
Rashid and his brothers / cousins / friends are really lovely guys. They speak English, and were really welcoming and made being at the camp just feel like a lovely experience - they genuinely felt like hosts and we were their guests not customers. The food is good - buffet at dinner and breakfast. Lots of optional add ons if you want them too (camel rides, motorbikes, dune bashing, etc). If you don't have a 4x4 you can drive to a secure place in Bidiyah and they'll drive you to the camp which is about 15mins our into the dunes. It's 10 mins walk up into the dunes, but if you go, for sunset, walk up the dune immediately to the west of the camp. It dips down and you see some water pipes and a few hundred metres away the perimeter rope for the camp. Walk all the way to that rope and just beyond, the landscape opens up and you get an amazing view out. It's also great in the morning for just a long vista of yellow sand and sky.

ItalyJust some noice of people from distance/other camps not in our camp using quads and motorbikes. I think the desert experience should be silent and respectful of the environment. But the noise was from other camps not ours…
I loved the camp, the dunes the location, the meals, the owners Rashid and everybody are super nice and friendly. I loved seeing the scorpions at night with Rashid and walking on the dunes seeing animals tracks.

Hong KongEverything is perfect!! The tent is very spacious and clean! The whole camp site is far from other camps so we can enjoy star gazing without any light disturbance. The dinner and breakfast are both very delicious, we do not expect such high quality food in the middle of the desert, they even taste better than those we had in Muscat! Most importantly, the owner Rashid is super friendly, we totally feel the hospitality of Omani people!! We highly recommend you to choose this camp if you can coming to Bidiyah!!

We had a wonderful stay. If you are in Oman, please book a car and go to Rashid’s camp! There is nothing quite like a stay in the desert and seeing the sun set over the dunes. Rashid was a funny and humble host and him and Saleem made our honeymoon truly special. More Brits need to discover this excellent camp.

United KingdomIf you want peace and quiet if possible avoid going on a Friday or Saturday as the Wahibas are popular at the weekend.
The camp consists of a group of tents on stilts which are well spaced out for privacy. The tents are very spacious - after visiting we should have rented 2 tents rather than 3 for the 6 of us. Beds are comfortable and there are lots of extra blankets in case you get chilly. Food is served in a large, comfortable tent. Dinner and breakfast were delicious buffets with plenty of options for vegetarians. Drinks were also provided along with delicious sweet Arabic tea. We drove to the camp in our 4WD hire car - tyres were deflated and we followed our guide to the camp which is further into the Wahibas than many of the other camps. Rashid is very helpful and happy to talk/share stories as most Omani people are. The family loved the dune bashing (max of 5 passengers per car) at sunset with lots of photo opportunities and the camel riding (guide happy to take lots of photos). If you want to stay at a desert camp I can certainly recommend Rashid’s camp. BTW bring a torch/power bank and have fun looking at the tracks in the sand in the morning!

Rashid Desert Camp was the highlight of our trip to Oman. We stayed 2 nights there, and from start to finish the experience was amazing, we are glad we booked 2 nights. There is a very convenient meeting point before entering the desert where they will deflate the tires of your 4wd and then guide you to your camp with your own car, or the camp can pick you up there. The size of the camp is perfect, just 5 tents, very well located in the middle of dunes with beautiful sunset and sunrise views. Rashid, the owner, is the most amazing host that will make you feel welcomed. His staff is also excellent, always looking out for the guests, and the food is amazing, the best we had in Oman, both dinner and breakfast !! A special shootout to Selim the cook. They propose different activities, we did the desert morning tour riding the dunes and sandboarding which was very nice. Rashid thank you so much, we will miss you Habibi !!
