Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The room was comfortable but not amazing either. We had some issues with the water, as the pressure was extremely weak and there was not much hot water either. Besides that, still recommend the place.
The hotel is quite centrally located where all the attractions are around the same amount of distance from each other which makes is quite convenient. The breakfast was pretty good. The hotel offers pretty good value for its price.

The room had a view of another building when we had booked a mountain view so not the end of the world, just a pity.
The location is really great. You are around various shops and restaurants, and it's a central location to get around with a taxi. The staff was great, and the facilities were good, too. The breakfast was fine. I loved the view from the gym and the pool.

The swimming pool lacks a few more loungers and can get very full at peak times.

Nothing. It was all perfectly fine and dandy. A bit like a smaller version of a midtown Sheraton.
Location was good. There is little in the way of public transport beyond buses, so reliant upon feet and taxi - thus i don't think location much matters in Muscat as long as it is fairly central. 15-20 mins from airport via taxi - no need to leave 3-4 hrs. 2hrs is fine. Good room size with superb King Bed - pillows hit and miss but i rarely find any i like so maybe that's me. Fridge, kettle and usual amenities, facilities and accoutrements. Good shower bathroom additions. Safe was secure and sizable. Work space useful and plenty of storage and shelving with UK power outlets so no adapters required. Clean functional lifts, nice communal areas and sylish lobby. Staff friendly, polite and helpful.

Restaurant can be crowded for breakfast at some hours, and is not recommended for dinner (better go to the Lahab Kitchen, <10 minutes walk).
Location near major roads near the center of Muscate, free off-street parking, well-equipped and insonorised rooms, roof-top swimming pool with great views, gym and sauna, good breakfast, nearby places to eat good local food (Lahab Kitchen restaurant is strongly recommended).

Everything was great. Everyone is really welcoming. Nice rooftop swimming pool, great sauna works until 10pm. Even housekeeping staff was friendly and helpful. Thanks a lot. The only thing that is not great is a water pressure in a shower. It's enough to take a shower, but could be better. Also a location is really convenient, it has a lot of stores and cafes/restaurants in just a few minutes walking. There is also a mall in around 15 minutes. So, totally recommend.

I called more than 5 times to have a bottle of water in the room. When I was asking for 4 bottle of water only 2 sent to the room. The spoon even the tea spoon and fork was not in the room and you should ask for it. The hotel was painting in the morning when the guests are coming and going. The parking was closed because of painting and so when I arrived at 1 AM forced to park my car next to the road.

We have absolutely nothing to complain about.
We stayed at the Royal Tulip twice (one night on each occasion) and we had selected it because the location fit our purposes perfectly. The room was nice and big, the staff helpful and friendly. Breakfast offered a wide range of things. Free parking (in front of the hotel or in the underground garage) was a prerequisite for us and it worked out nicely.

I found breakfast option so pricey I didn't take it. Anybody could drive into the parking garage. No passcode, no card, no one there to check you are actually staying here. That was a bit odd.
Location can't be beat. The hotel is walking distance to any number of restaurants and shopping. This was a big reason for me to book this hotel, and I was happy. Also the airport and the highways are very accessible. You probably need a car to explore Muscat and beyond as I did, and there is more than enough parking space underneath the hotel. Also the bed in my room was super comfy - probably among the top 5 I've slept in! If you want quality, while staying close to the residential areas and lively neighborhoods in Muscat, this is the top choice.
