Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandThe AC was not working! The installations in the bathroom are obviously out of date.
Mohamed did a very good job, he prepared a very good dinner for us. The silence and the quite location were just great. Good value for money.

FinlandBeing far away in the desert, the place had a special atmosphere and the accommodation was both practical and in harmony with the peacefulness of the nature. The cottage had everything we needed - including private bathroom, warm water and electiricty. The breakfast and supper prepared by the staff were delicious.

PolandBad luck with the weather - extreme rainfall over night - our hut got flooded
In spite of very tough weather - frequent rainstorms and flooding, we had a memorable stay The staff, especially the manager, Mr Ali, super supportive They handled well non-trivial questions - i basically wanted to go across Wahiba Sands in my 4WD - and we spent time studying the map and navigation - then we agreed on safety protocols - so i report passage through the desert at a certain point - all worked very well - and Mr Ali was not only super informative and but also very responsible

NetherlandsThe generator gets switched off around 21.30. Lights did still work, but of course, the ac didn't. Not a huge deal, but could be better. It does get more silent because of that. The bathroom was silly. There's a bath in there. For which the water didn't even work. Why even put it in there? The shower was cold. There's an electrical boiler, which you need to turn on, outside, behind the cabin. I didn't know and it was switched off. Make sure you turn it on when you arrive, of you want to enjoy the little water available. As many, I got ripped off by the Tire pressure people, but for 2x1 OMR, it is ok. If you want to inflate your tires yourself, don't go to the shell station. The inflation is broken there (I presume on purpose). Go to the oman oil on the main road, just 50 meters further.
A small camp with just 5 houses, located far enough from other camps to have your own experience. The staff is friendly and accommodating, the rooms spacious enough. Food was buffet style, both for breakfast and dinner. For getting things done in the middle of the dessert, I was more than happy with the quality and amount of food. The man staffing the camp itself gave tips about sunset and sunrise, which was nice. Beds were really nice! Enjoy the silence, that's what this call is meant for in my opinion.

United KingdomA fabulous night. The camp is located deep into the desert and the ride in over the dunes was part of the fun. It was very peaceful, with only 5 rooms and a perfect setting up on the dunes. We could discard our shoes for the duration of our stay, and had wonderful sunset and dawn walks up into the high dunes directly behind our room. The staff were friendly and helpful.

ItalyThe rooms obviously get dirty with sand and the comfort of the bathroom is limited, but it's inherent in the type of location.
The position and the service provided by Farhad are excellent. An authentic experience.

SloveniaPerfect spot to enjoy peace and beauty of the desert. Bungalow was comfortable, with a bath tub and big bed. Food was very delicious. Only cost of driving to the spot and back is a bit expensive - more than 80€. But all in all perfect experience.

FranceWe came to Safari Dunes Camp just after having spent a night at Thousand Nights Camp. I liked it very much there, but Safari Dunes was much more to my taste regarding contact with the desert. Safari Dunes is composed of only five huts with a central hut for restauration and an annex for the staff. To me it was the true desert experience. We enjoyed sunset on top of the dunes nearby, with nobody around and only the sand, the wind and the sky to stare at. The staff is very reduced but of exceptional quality. Fahrad, the manager, is quite the philosopher, but with a hint of British humor. He shares gladly his experiences and describes quite well the overall philosophy of the Camp, which I would summarize as "enjoy the place, the privacy and the passing of time". A philosophy which is nonetheless sustained by a strong material asset: Malek, the cook. The dishes he prepares for the evening and morning buffets are all more than delicious and in largely sufficient quantity, combining typical Arabic food and fresh fruit and vegetables. Of course Farhad can organize activities for his guests, but to us the programme I just described in a few words was enough for body and soul ! Both Fahrad and Malek speak a perfect english and I want to thank them quite heartly for their hospitality !

United KingdomAll was perfect for us - we could not have asked for more.
The breakfast was perfect for the location - bear in mind, you are far into the desert here....and there is a deal further to go..! We were looking for a peaceful stay and we certainly got it. Whilst it is easy to look at a photo or watch a documentary pertaining to desert environments, nothing can prepare you for the beauty and stillness that awaits you. It really is one of 'those moments' in one's life. We also had a lovely dinner at the camp - and given we were the only guests (in July), we had the undivided attention of our host Farhad, who could not do enough to make our stay a memorable one. He is very dedicated to his role here - his greatest desire is to see guests happy. Thank you Farhad. Remember this camp is all about peace, but if you want a camel ride or go to a BBQ or even dune bashing, they can be arranged for you. There is a 2nd camp around 8km away I should add that we were blessed by rainfall in the morning shortly before we left the camp.....a quite surreal experience. It was for my wife and I, a spiritually uplifting experience and I would urge you to go here, should you find yourself in Oman - speaking of which, I do not possess the vocabulary to describe the utter beauty of the country and of the openness and friendly nature of the Omani people. There is something truly special about Oman and we have every intention of returning next year. The heat is quite intense in July but it is also low season in terms of tourism, therefore very few tourists as one would expect. If you are dithering and considering whether to go to Oman and to the Safari Dunes Camp, then dither no further - go to Oman and go to the desert.

SwitzerlandTransfer to/from desert is overpriced It was clean and comfortable according to "desert" standards. You pay the price of a 5 stars hotel but you are in a camp.
The bungalows are very spacious and comfortable. Staff super friendly and helpful. The walk in the dunes behind the camp at sunset is amazing. Breathtaking view over the desert. Breakfast and dinner excellent with plenty of choice.

Bed is ver comfortable. Dinner absolute top, especially the camel meat. Possibility to ride a camel or dune bashing with a driver. Farhad as our guy in the camp was absolute best host always available to help.
