We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. United KingdomA once in a lifetime experience! Beautiful location in the desert, and fun activities offered such as dune-bashing, camel riding and star gazing. The owners are really friendly and welcoming, and the accommodation is really comfortable. The food is high quality and fresh, with lots of options to chose from (buffet style). Would definitely recommend if you are visiting Oman!

SwitzerlandWhat a truly magical escape! Far from the bustle of typical tourist spots, our experience at the Starry Dome was nothing short of extraordinary. From the very beginning, the owner and his son were incredibly helpful, readily answering our queries as we made our way to the rendezvous point. The exhilarating drive through the dunes was a delightful prelude to the beauty that awaited us. Despite a partially veiled sky, the sunset painted the sand in breathtaking hues, offering a magnificent vista. The dome itself was thoughtfully designed, featuring a grand window that promised a sunrise spectacle from the comfort of our bed. The staff's warmth and attentiveness enhanced our stay. Before a delectable dinner, the owner graciously shared his knowledge of the starry sky, weaving captivating tales that enthralled all the guests. It was a truly enchanting experience. Even after our meal, we lingered on the terrace, captivated by the owner's stories of life in his beloved Oman. Returning to our cozy dome, we savored the serene desert night, enjoying a comforting hot beverage. Every precious moment spent in this tranquil desert haven was a treasure. We left with hearts full of joy and memories that will forever sparkle like the stars we gazed upon. S.V. & B.G. / Switzerland

United KingdomSome places and attractions need a bit TLC. The pyramid wasn’t half broken, the starry domes light wasn’t working etc.
Great little camp, very private domes, not overcrowded. The staff is very welcoming and the domes are really clean and comfortable. Stargazing at the end of the night was a nice touch.

United Kingdom-Unfortunately the dune bashing went on until 21:30 at night, which ruined the said stargazing experience. You go to the desert to experience the calmness and tranquility, but the dune bashers were revving their engines until really late on the big hill across from the camp. That became tiring since the dune bashing started at 17:30 and lasted for 4hours. - Some of the facilities require attention, especially the staff accommodation area as you enter on the left of the camp.
-Amazing host and location.Provides you with a certain luxury in the desert. -Owner/host was a great person and did try to create a romantic Arabic atmosphere after dinner with stargazing and explaining about them. Makes you feel.welcome. -It is more expensive than the other camps but it is worth it as it is not in the outskirts of the desert but deep enough. -Food and breakfast were adequate considering where you really are. - Sandboarding was a fun experience

Hong KongBathroom was a little small and even though there was a shower head but no separate shower area (it was toilet/shower room where the floor would get wet) but I was simply happy that there we had our own private bathroom in a glamping place.
Location was excellent, the owner was very approachable and staff were helpful and tried their best to communicate in English. The family room was comfortable and sufficiently large for 2 adults and 2 children. Air conditioning worked well, albeit a little noisy. The star gazing night fire camp was a personal favourite and the kids enjoyed the free zipline and especially the dune bashing (so much more fun than dune bashing elsewhere in the Middle East).

It was amazing.. lovely food, it was fresh and the grills were delicious. I’ve been to buffets that had so much variety yet not that delicious. This was simple and good. Loved the quietness of the desert the location the drive the staff the rooms all in all was just perfect and the cherry on the top was deciding to take the hot air balloon. We were blessed to be on a hot air balloon above the clouds for a good amount of time and the sun rising. Just perfect

FranceTruly an exceptional experience. We had been to the desert before in UAE, but this was much better. We were picked from Bidiyah by a very nice driver with a brand new Toyota Tundra, who let us ride standing half outside the car, showed us some baby camels and even did a bit of dune bashing on the 30 minute trip to the camp. We passed dozens of camps on the way which are just near the main road. Starry Domes is located deep inside the desert, you cross several rows of dunes from the main road, there is no other camp within a few km radius which is really great. Once at the camp Hamad explained to us everything, we decided to do the camel riding which we highly enjoyed. I recommend the 30 min ride as you have the time to go away from the camp into the desert. There are only 2 camels so it was a private experience for us. The dome itself is amazingly comfortable considering you are in the middle of the desert, you have all the amenities of a good 3 star european hotel. I have stayed in hotels in Paris or London which were far less comfortable than this dome in the desert. The room is spacious, you have a full bathroom and can shower as long as you want, AC is powerful and there is a mini fridge filled with water and some free snacks if you are hungry before dinner. You have a full frontal view to a huge dune right from your bed. Windows are tinted so you have privacy as well. You can watch the sunset from the small dune behind the domes and the sunrise next morning right from your bed. Dinner is good, it's a buffet. I really liked the lamb skewers. After dinner you can watch the stars from the restaurant terrace and have some tea by the fire. The night sky was the best I have ever seen, there is nothing like it in Europe since here there is no light pollution at all.

Everything was perfect. Domes are exact same as the photos, very clean and well organized. Everything you might need is there. Stargazing at evening was great and breakfast in the morning was also well above standards. We choose to transported to the camp for a fee, its a good service if you don't want to drive your rental car in desert. We also took the 3hr tour in desert it was very fun experience, our tour guide and camp manager Hamid is also very helpful with everything. Would stay again absolutely

United KingdomThe beauty and peace of the setting was greatly spoilt by loud cars being raced in the valley below all evening and through parts of the night/early morning. This is outside control of the camp owners and Many other camps may be affected by these ‘dune bashers’.
Wonderful setting. Helpful staff. 30 min drive across the desert - you follow in your 4x4. We took the 30 min camel ride which was fun. Food basic but good. Bring your own beer /wine.

United StatesWhen we arrived at the meeting point, no one was particularly friendly. We then had a very fast caravan into the desert, so fast the car behind us couldn’t keep up. We were just very cautious as it was our first time driving in the desert. We would do it all again.
The location and accommodations are marvelous. It is stunning and feels very secluded. The domes were comfortable and warm at night, cool during the day. They were decorated really beautifully and there were a few snacks and lots of water for us. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. We even loved the light lunch prepared. It was nice sitting by the fire at night and our host was friendly and helpful. The domes felt private and safe.

SingaporeAmazing room with sunrise views, clean and big toilets. We could sit outside on the chairs or hammock to enjoy the views. We went for dune bashing (charged) which was very fun. After dinner, the owner conducted a stargazing session with tea. We then released sky lanterns into the sky. Dinner and breakfast were good.
