We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

OmanI went to starry domes with the expectation of a basic desert camp, and that’s kind of what it is, but it is also so much more. It is the true essence of glamping.
Starry Domes is located at the top of a dune with spectacular views of the Oman desert. Hamed, the owner was excellent from the start. Great communication and he met us at the start of the off road driving so we didn’t get lost.

GermanyPersonally I would recommend to serve some fresh fruits in addition to the breakfast offer, but maybe that’s only me!
Absolutely unique experience in the desert. Something you really shouldn’t miss while you a visiting Oman.

AustraliaExceptional thought and care has gone into Starry Domes. The location is stunning, the accommodation exceptional, and the meals plentiful (worth the extra charge for dinner). The evening spent around the fire sharing stories with people from around the world and our informative Omani hosts topped off an amazing experience.

Absolutely fantastic. I must recommend it to everyone who wants to spend a night on a dessert in comfort. Hot water, Air conditioning, very welcoming owner, activities on sites. Great instructions to get there. I only regret I didn't book the dinner to spend some more time with the owner.

United Arab EmiratesGet there early to enjoy the daylight if you are only staying one night. We arrived just before sunset and would have enjoyed more daylight hours.
Great location and fantastic domes, really enjoyed sleeping with the view of the sky. Our Family dome was spacious and well fitted out with snacks and plenty of water.

SingaporeBeing so far from the city facilities is a challenge. Make sure the hot water is working and that you have everything you need at check-in.
I highly recommended this unique experience. The owner answered all our questions before the trip and was in touch the while time. The organisation was smooth and the accommodation was comfy and stylish. We loved the breakfast delivered to you in the morning too! I recommend getting there early to fully enjoy the sunset 🌇

United StatesNothing that comes to mind, I would certainly stay here again if I find myself in this area.
This was such a cool experience. The owners definitely put a lot of thought into setting up these domes and creating this camp. I ended up meeting the owner at his house with other travelers and they helped me set up my car for the drive including the settings and tire pressures (fortunately never got stuck in the sand because of this). The camp is not easily found on google maps but the directions we were given were so simple and easy to understand. The camp itself is amazing. There were 5 domes all spaced out so that you still felt like there was a lot of privacy in your dome. There's also a place for dinner which they designed and was inspired by the Louvre in Paris. There's a few activity options, including dune bashing at sunset where I was able to get amazing pictures and we hung out with the owners of the camp and other visitors in a tent to do star gazing. Dinner was very good. Breakfast was also tasty and is served at your dome. The domes themselves are amazing and have hot water, electricity and AC. I was in the Middle East for 2 weeks and got the best sleep of my trip in the domes, that's how comfortable the beds are. I was told there'd be no wifi although I was able to have decent connection that would go in and out. I can't wait to see how this camp grows in the future.

GermanyNothing, everything was perfect!
Unique Experience!! It was such an amazing stay. We actually arrived quite late (around 8:30 pm), but the owner waited for us and helped us out with the care since our car got stuck in the sands. Dinner was prepared which we ate in front of our room. The room itself was super cute, well equipped with lovely details. We opened up the curtains and were able to see the desert by night. We woke up by sunrise, which was incredible!! Super quiet, peaceful and lovely moment being able to see sunrise in the desert on our own from bed. Had breakfast on our terrace, took a nice walk, did zip lining and spent some time with camels. Absolut amazing! Make sure to arrive early to see sunset (not as we did) and check out the “cinema” option. The camp and the owner are putting a lot of effort to offer us as guests an absolut amazing experience. As we went through other reviews: please not that you are in the middle of nowhere, so of course there is no signal (which is such a nice feeling), water is not as easy to regulate and you can’t expect a European breakfast buffet - but that’s exactly why you go to the middle of the desert. So just enjoy it.

NetherlandsWhat an fantastic location. The dome is really amazing. And the view is excellent. You feel like you are really on an special location with only four domes, that have a lot of space around them . You are NOT in a large camp with dozens of tents, like the other camps. This is unique. We really liked the dome and the experience. Highlight of our holiday in Oman

GermanyOne of the best camps in Wahiba Sands due to remote location, delicious breakfast/ dinner and friendly staff! The domes are new and perfectly decorated in the interior. Before arrival, ask the owners for their detailed description on how to arrive at the camp, do not trust Google Maps.

Switzerlandnothing, everything is superb. We hope the camp will not become too big in the future.
Very nice camp out in the desert. With the explanation of the owner it is very easy to find, the drive with a 4wd car was no problem. the camp itself is small and that makes it super awesome. we liked to stay in a smaller camp. Dinner was very very good, we asked for one vegetarian option and it was super delicious. we had a long talk under the stairs with the manager of the camp and this was amazing. absolutely recommend the camp.

United KingdomThey are still working on setting up the property so naturally there are things that need to be ironed out - please take the rest of the comments as pointers on what can be improved on. Upon arrival we did not have anyone explain to us how to turn on the boiler or switch on the lights outside, in fact we showered with cold water as you also couldn't get hold of the staff once you were dropped off. We were only staying for one short evening and so wanted to do some activities as soon as we arrived. There was again no explanation as to what is on offer (e.g. dune bashing, zip line etc) and what the cost was. Luckily we managed to waive down one of the cars on their way out and they happily took us dune bashing. I think dinner should already be included in the price of the room (especially at that rate) as you don't really have many options to "eat out" if you are staying at the desert.
We loved the location and how secluded each dome was. You really felt alone in the desert as everything was so spread out. The bed was very big and extremely comfortable. The dinner was freshly cooked and delicious. The owner speaks to each guest individually and dinner can be had as a group on a raised platform which was a lovely touch!

GermanyEverything was great, but the price in comperison to other places in the area is but more expensive. There are als some aditonal costs for example if you don't have a own car to drive to the dessert. But the price is worth of it for this what you get. You get a great view from over the dunes. You get great food and much privacy.
Very nice place, if you are searching for a place that is more private and with a nice view. Stuff is friendly and the domes are really comfortable.

United StatesGreat experience. Few things to know: 1. This is run by a real Omani (hummad i think his name is) and it's a start up.. they are slowly expanding but he's providing everything possible and speaks perfect English. Send him a WhatsApp and ask him what you need, he is very responsive. 2. There isn't a menu of stuff that is offered. It's more personalized. We learnt a lot by reviews, he offers a pick up from his home, TAKE IT. It's hassle free because there are no signs. 3. Dune bashing: definitely do it. Theres nothing to do once you are there. 4. Food: he customized vegetarian food for us and it was pretty great (even though we couldn't really see what we were eating). I felt it was more authentic than any place in Oman. 5. We took milk powder at the Lulu's in ibra because there isn't one on premises or any milk. Hammad said he might provide for future guests. Best to check. 6. There is little cell phone signal but on the top after dune bashing you can get great signal. 7. Over all this place is worth it. I don't think any other place will give you this kind of rooms and service in a desert.

United StatesThis is a very special place to visit, and the hospitality and thoughtfulness of Hamid and the rest of the staff made it truly exceptional. We had no trouble driving to the camp ourselves (in a 4x4) with the directions they provided, and they made sure we understood the correct settings for the car beforehand. The dome itself was brand new, clean, and luxurious - and being able to open the front curtains and see the stars and sunrise right from bed was unreal. Hamid taking the time to come and chat with each guest was a really nice touch as well.
