Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceThe showers are outside (it's freezing if you have a shower in the evening with the wind and rain!). Only curtains around the shower so people can see you. It's hard to get hot water. Small room for 14 people (triple beds, not easy to get to the middle one). No space for bags. For breakfast, you have to write your name on a paper and have to wait for a very long time, so better not to be in a hurry ! It could be cleaner. We cannot choose your bed. Not the whole staff speaks Spanish.
Nice staff. Breakfast included (light but good), not a buffet, just a plate. Outside area. They provide a towel which is nice. Possible to do yoga outdoors. Good location. Supermarkets and restaurants close by.

ItalyThis hostel was extremely disappointing. They don’t allow people to keep ac in the room during the day even though the temperature was unbearable. The dorm beds make a lot of noise when you move so it’s hard to sleep as soon as someone moves in their bed. They have absolutely no activities planned so we were going to the hostel nearby for yoga and socialising They regularly finish the filter water bottle and say they can’t replace it until the next day so you are forced to buy from them Very dirty kitchen and bathrooms and lot of dust in the dorms They didn’t allow me for 1h later check out. Overall not worth coming to this hostel

SwitzerlandIn comparison to the Bodhi in panama city is this hostel very disappointing. It is too expensive for the dorm you get. (Overcrowded dorm, not well maintained and cleaned room, not enough lockers for every bed and additionally some ot them were broken) There are surveillance cameras inside the sleeping dormitories that film people sleeping in their beds. Complaint at the reception was rudely rejected and no solution was provided. No information was provided what can be done around the village.
Location Garden area to relax

United StatesWe really wanted to like this place after seeing great reviews, but we experienced: 1. Our second night another guest found bed bugs (chinches) in our dorm, told the staff, and was moved. However, the staff did not inform us over the next few hours as we sat in the beds and prepared to sleep. The other guest told us, and upon looking we saw bugs on one of our beds (later had bites). The staff did not immediately offer solutions nor guidance, but agreed to our requests for a different room and laundry. We saw them cleaning the next day, but other guests had already moved without isolating their luggage... 2. The dorm has AC but it was off at bedtime (9 - 11 pm) and then came on around 12 - 2 am blasting cold and waking us up; we slept horribly. The staff was dismissive and ignored the issue. 3. Inconsistent/slow service and bad communication between shifts. For example, two times the laundry they said would be done the same day was not started the following day around noon. When asked, we were told, "oh I'll tell the next shift." Some requests for info about activities were met with, "I'll check and get back to you," but we never heard back. 5. Private room number 4 was incredibly hot (5°C hotter than hall outside). It gets sun on two sides and the window is over a metal roof that bakes it. The fans are insufficient, so it is hard to sleep. For the price, there should be AC or better ventilation installed. Miscellaneous: multiple cameras in the dorm room - aimed at the beds, third level bunks very high up, uncomfortable mattresses (dorm and private), curtain did not block light, lockers too small for most bags, cigarette smoke everywhere outside (no designated area/posted rules), dining table next to bathrooms, my vegan partner asked about a vegan breakfast and they said buttermilk pancakes contained no animal products.
The good aspects were overshadowed by a number of bad experiences and the high price. We stayed in both dorms and a private room. As other reviewers mention, the indoor and outdoor lounges, well equipped kitchen, cafe, and bathrooms were all great. WIFI stable for work/video calls (except a power outage). Nice breakfast for vegetarians (but not vegans). Rating breakdown: dorms 4/10, private room 6/10, common areas 9/10.

PanamaThe dorms are really packed, 3 level bunkbeds (which is a hussle to climb). Receptionists dont really care that much for recommendations or helping you out.
El valle de Anton is a hidden gem. It is a rustic green place not that far from Panama City. Its amazing for hiking and visiting waterfalls. The garden chill area and the free breakfast where really nice.

NetherlandsDon't expect much from the breakfast. The pancakes are good but the breakfast on our last day was very poor, just some salty eggs with toast and fruit. We send the burnt eggs back to the kitchen and they said they did not have any other. The coffee was finished two days in a row during breakfast hours and they did not bother to make new coffee, even after asking about it multiple times.
Very nice garden with couches and hammocks to relax in. The private rooms are nice and the shared bathrooms clean, but it's not worth ~$50 a night.

Austria- Breakfast! Way to small (see photo) and you had to wait for a LONG time until it was done, at least 20 minutes even though so simple and small - DOGS EVERYWHERE, running around wildly and PEEING everywhere and lying on the seating areas - kitchen old, rusty and oven falling apart - no hot water - way too exoensive for what you get
+ location + smoothies cheap and good + volunteers Mike and Lana were really great!! Organized Workouts and hikes + outdoor seating area

SpainThere are cameras inside the rooms (the beds have curtains, but it still feels weird). Dorms have 3 bunks on top of each other and the room feel a bit oppressive. The dorms are just next to the café and can be noisy in the afternoon if you want to nap.
Open area in the backyard is very nice, but it's usually so windy and cold in the nights that it can't be really used. Great kitchen with utensils. Okeish breakfast. I've stayed here twice and it's OK, but I'm my personal opinion there are better options in the area.

DenmarkOur (private) room had just four hooks on the back of the door and no shelves, bench or anything else to store/place our stuff on, so we had to keep everything on the floor. Breakfast is quite dissatisfying when they swap the pancakes for a small portion of dry scrambled eggs. Upstairs kitchen had a limited selection of only very large pots that were all quite dirty from soot from the gas stove. No hot showers.
Great value for money. Really good atmosphere and nice garden for having breakfast and just hanging out. Also good place to meet other travelers. Clean bathrooms and showers. Very good information on things to do in the valley and how to do them. Good location close to a supermarket and basically in the center of the valley. Oh and delicious pancakes for breakfast.

The staff was nice but No se si son vegetarianos pero el desayuno solo fue 2 pancakes y una rebanada de piña y 1/4 de banana. I was expecting some type of meet or at least an egg.

United StatesThis is the discrepancy of less than $17 of a room issue. I told Bodhi I would post our dialogue in the review if I did not hear back....it is the principle of the matter. Bodhi statement: Dear Clay You could have switched rooms with no problem but you preferred to stay in the same room. I am sorry to inform you about that but now it's too late to make an adjustment, it should have been requested the moment you were offered to stay in the room. Again, you could have switched to the other room with no problem but you wanted to stay in the same room. We were trying to have you as comfortable as possible, but by booking the other room (and a more expensive one) you also blocked it to be booked by other people. I hope you understand My statement in return: I disagree with your point of view. You policy states on booking a 50% cancelation fee if done within 3 days of the reservation. Therefore, you collected money from the individual who canceled the 2nd night with the room we had on the 1st night. When my wife stated we would stay in our original room due to the cancellation, the proper thing to do was to reimburse us with the cancelation fee you collected. Then, immediately, open the room we reserved for the 2nd night. It’s a trivial amount and it’s all moving around numbers. Your receptionist should have the fortitude to think of this simple process. The individual who canceled causes both of us some disruption. My wife and I rushed from our outing to honor the check out time of 12noon. Once the cancelation happened, a courtesy call or message via booking to us would have been the right thing to do (so we didn't have to come back). Instead, we are told by your receptionist a cancelation had occurred once we arrived to switch rooms. I do not believe your receptionist has the fortitude or courtesy of contacting us once the cancelation occurred.
It was an adequate place to stay the night to check out the town. The vibe was very eclectic and felt like an "individual" environment as multiple groups and individuals tended to stay to themselves. The karaoke entertainment for the night at the hostel was under utilized...but the excellent mixed happy hour drinks made up for it.
