Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Spacious kitchen living area and bedroom. Good lighting. Hosts invited us to enjoy the tamarin monkey visits and feeding in the garden. Beautiful backyard can be enjoyed by the patio. Well supplied kitchen.

SpainBe aware that you really need a car here. Parking is no problem! There are limited facilities with only one basic supplies shop and one local restaurant open while we were here.
Surrounded by greenery and with outdoor space, this apartment was perfect for our stay. It is simply furnished, with adequate wifi, and air-conditioning. There is a washing machine and dryer in the communal space outside which costs $6. If you love wildlife, we saw parrots and numerous other birds, agutis, iguanas, and even a group of tamarins

United StatesThe host was away and, although, a nice lady was there to provide keys, she has no English. It would be helpful if the host left some instructions in English about the area and suggestions for what to do and where to eat. In the studio, it would be nice to have one comfy chair for relaxing.
The studio is large and spotlessly clean - it all looks newly renovated. Kitchen is fully equipped and even some coffee was provided. The studio has a large covered patio which was lovely for sitting watching the rain but staying dry. (The adjoining apartment's patio is not covered). Neighborhood is extremely quiet - mostly workers on the canal. A five minute walk to a small general store and restaurant and a food truck. However, be aware that on New Year's Day, all restaurants are closed! Also a short walk to the marina for boat trips on the canal (definitely worth doing). Anything beyond that, you really need a rental car, especially during the daily rain

CanadaThe apartment was a great base to explore Gamboa. Getting to and from Gamboa without a car is challenging as there is very limited bus service.
Nice apartment in Gamboa. Perfect for birdwatchers- back garden was full of birds, there are trails in town and it was a 40 minute walk to Pipeline Road. In Gamboa, there is a small store for basic groceries with attached restaurant as well as a pizza place with a lovely garden. The apartment was very comfortable-the bedroom had a king size bed and the living room had a fold out couch, kitchen was well-equipped to make meals, especially appreciated the coffee and milk for the first morning (also basics like dish soap, soap and salt).

SpainOn the 2nd day we had some issues with hot/warm water in the shower.
Big apartment with all the accessories you may need. It was spotless clean. There is big terrace with a views to wildlife - we spotted auguti, iguanas, various bird species... Kitchen has all amenities you may need. Location is quiet. Be aware that city/village has only one small shop and restaurant, so do some shopping before arrival. If you have car, it's the best starting point for some nice hiking areas and wildlife.

CanadaVery minor things like blunt knife, and no shampoo provided. The couch seemed to be lacking back cushions.
I loved sitting on the back deck, watching the birds, monkeys and even a sloth! Wonderful garden! Comfortable bed, great bathroom, we could cook for ourselves.

United StatesWell, not much anyone can do about the lack of shopping and restaurants, this was in the middle of almost nowhere.
This was a pleasant surprise! I wish ALL my bookings could be like this. Clean, organized, great location (given it was in Gamboa, basically in the middle of nowhere), great condition with everything you needed.

NetherlandsNothing really... If I'm nitpicking.. The couch wasn't as comfortable. Furthermore, keep in mind that you have to pay in cash.
Very nice, spacious and comfortable apartment with great terrace and garden where I saw agoutis, an iguana, hummingbirds, toucans and many other birds and butterflies and there are tamarin monkeys in the tree.

AustriaThat we had to leave.
We liked everything. We would move in there forever. We loved spending our time on the terrace observing all the lovely creatures passing by. We actually saw more animals there, than when we were hiking in the rainforest. There are some resident agoutis (Ñeque) in the garden, who pass by quite close if you are very calm. The host is super nice. The water in the shower is hot. The kitchen is modern and equipped nicely. The location is perfect to walk to Gamboa Rainforest Resort for the sloth sanctuary (and the other activities, but the visit at the sloths, butterflies and frogs was the best activity).

Czech RepublicPractically nothing to complain about, just little privacy on the terrace when both apartments are occupied.
Nice clean apartment, on the terrace you can see animals - agouti, which we could feed with fruit and nuts, we saw monkeys, iguana and lots of beautiful birds. The owner tries to accommodate with everything, there was no problem, highly recommended.

United StatesBeautiful, safe neighborhood with a native garden tucked up near the rainforest. The studio was perfectly clean with all visitors need in the bathroom and kitchen. The owner was out and f the country but was readily in contact by messages. There was a break in the water line to Gamboa but we were both immediately notified and our water needs were met completely. The birding was awesome. We’ll be back in a heartbeat.

Elena was home when I arrived and was able to give me the keys and answer questions about the apartment. She was willing to do laundry for me and even let me watch a world cup match in her house. Also Elena offered to buy food for me or take me to a supermarket. Elena offered to drive me to the Pipeline Road too.

United StatesWe came to Gamboa to relax and experience the Canal Zone Rainforest. Both goals were exceeded, much in part to Elena's great home! Our own apartment was very large and very comfortable. Excellent bed, nice bathroom and shower, and well-stocked kitchen. - Bring anything special you need: wine, whole grain bread. - There is one Chinese market/restaurant in town, 10 minutes walk from Elena's. You can get by with the market supplies (even some surprises there like delicious Spanish Manchego cheese!) and the restaurant was surprisingly good! Tasty food, healthy, and ample portions! - There is an ATM by the restaurant, but bring $ just in case. - Elena can arrange rides to the Rainforest Discovery Center, etc, and to Panama City ($40?). - Elena's porch: Would be easy to spend your whole time there! Amazing birds all day! Beautiful garden. Amazing animals (Agudis) visit all the time, and are totally fascinating, entertaining, and innocuous. A couple species of monkeys climb through the garden trees each morning. Beautiful animals and not bothersome. Resist the temptation to feed the animals. - The Rainforest Discovery Center is a must! A bit expensive, $30, but for a great cause. View many, many hummingbirds at their visitor center. Hear and maybe see howler monkeys. A guide is definitely worth it if you are a serious birder, but they'll share their knowledge if you're solo. You'll meet birders from all over the world there. You can walk there and back, or ride one way. - Took a taxi from our Panama Hotel to Gamboa, around $30. A bus is possible too. Cheaper but not as convenient.
