The floor was sandy upon check in. We borrowed a broom from the maid and swept it ourselves…no biggie!

It was rather loud and I would say kind of a party hostel so a lot of music and drinking with fun people. However that made sleeping hard sometimes. We agreed to the other room when asked, however, the beds in that room were really uncomfortable and wobbly. The room was full of stuff so we did not have space for ours. The bathroom was not very clean and the sink was clogged. Generally there are many parties in Bocas so it‘s rather loud, not only directly from the hostel.

I spent 3 nights there while visiting Bocas. Me and 3 other travellers (that I knew) where put in a room to share with the two volunteers working there instead of the 4-bed dorms they offer and we booked (of course we agreed on this when they asked us). The location is nice, you can buy beer and other drinks there and you can jump right into the water or take a taxi boat from there. The staff was really nice!

So i think the building is quite old, so there is some strong scent.. but after a shower the shampoo odors took over, so was not that bad,

Sometimes we didn’t have water, this was not really a problem because it was very early in the morning or in the middle of the night. And I think it was not there fault. It was more the islands problem.

The room was bare-bones. Just a bed, AC, and some shelves. We didn't get a key when we checked in. They couldn't find it. When we came back after dinner, there were new people at the desk and they had no idea what we were talking about. Eventually, someone found the key. On day 2, both the key and the AC remote stopped working. Both the lock and the AC had to be worked on. The room was never cleaned that day, either.

Great location. Great view. I asked for a table so I could use my laptop and they eventually brought one.

The kitchen was used by a lot of guests and a lot of them didn‘t learn how to tidy up after cooking, therefore the kitchen oft was very dirty and not a lot of dishes availabel. That‘s not the fault of the hostel though.

We loved the location directly on the water, perfect for a quick swim and the option to use boat taxis.

The hostel is currently under construction...we had no lockers to lock our valuables. But you can lock the door. Didnt seem to me that they cleaned our room every day, the bathroom floor was very dirty. The kitchen is horrible, it's very bad equipped...only 1 knife and one cutting board? And it was very small, so we had to wait one hour for the other people to finish cooking. The fridge was very small for way too many people. The water from the sink is going directly into the ocean, very cool with the soap....

The hostel had a very chill vibe. It has two terraces with the view to the water. Very cool! Price for bocas del toro was alright. 4 bed dorm had it's own bathroom. Normal beds instead of bunk beds

Dorm doesn't have much space so luggage can get in the way if room is full. No hooks for hanging towels!

Decent hostel / hotel, close to the centre, on the dock so access to the water and safe for swimming, air-con, fans, large area for socialising, safe, secure, lockers - all you need for a short stay!

Las Olas Hostel is the perfect spot in Bocas del Toro, sitting right on the water with amazing views and just a five-minute walk from the center of town. They make it super easy to book tours and boat taxis. Everyone is welcoming, and always happy to help.

3 out of 5 days we had no water and the host didn't really care. Also he overbooked so we were moved to another hostel for the first night. All in all a very chaotic experince.

The host almost provided a comedy show, that was the only reason we stayed.

Some beds are a little worn out, but you can just ask to change to a different one.

The people and the vibe are great! Staff is very helpful. I stayed for a week here. You can jump straight into the water from the hostel, which is pretty unique in Bocas, and watch amazing sunsets. The people are not as trashy as elsewhere but more chill and very social. At aqua or Socialitas there are huge parties once a week but they have so many people that it is very impersonal and hard to meet people.

The water wasn't working for the whole evening and into the morning. Host said its out of his control - did give a small refund for the hassle. Wasn't able to shower or brush teeth.

The whole place was worn out shower was terrible, cold water when working. Two towels for two days say and beds never made up. NO washcloths.

No water part of the stay and never had hot water. No coffee nothing for eats and no liquors. Drink beer or wine. Place was too far away from town and had nothing to offer. Had to walk to get coffee or anything to drink. Door to room would not open needed cut off at the bottom so it would swing. Door knows fell off that was used to close door.; Took key with us shopping and never got room made up because they claimed they only had that key and not anymore so could not clean or room. Nothing to like

Outrageous experience for the entire time of using Booking. For $72 per night we expected something more than a small room with dirty floors from paint and broken sockets. We wanted to go to another hotel, which is bigger, more spacious, cleaner and 2 times cheaper, but the manager of this one said that if we want to leave we have to pay for the night and leave immediately. In the end we had to stay, although on Booking the cancellation was free and without any conditions. "You come to the sea and look at the sockets?" the manager asked, yes - when we pay double the price we expect sockets instead of holes in the wall, non-working water and clogged sewage. I'm not even talking about the window with a view of the sea, which is below the waist and is slightly larger than my laptop. In addition, I cut my finger when I got out of the sea, when we told the manager about it, he did not even ask where to fix it in the future. It seems to me that he was offended by us. Luckily the weather was good and we were busy with our own affairs.

Le floor was not clean, one upholstered chair had white crumbly debris on it. No breakfast, no coffee for guests. A blasé attitude from the manager upon our arrival. A small dingy bar on the main level open room overlooking the waterway. Beer served , with the comment there was a free beer on the hoise then charging for the beer, then saying maybe he would only charge for the next one! (Confusing) Tv in the room with remote but dis not work and upon enquiry we were told there is no tv service any longer!

We did this booking before travelling 5 hours to get there. The online website showed appealong pictures including breakfast. We can say we liked the shower and the bed was comfortable. There was a small balcony off our room on the second level which gave views from the side of the hotel to the water where water taxi traffic could be observed.

The oven was difficult and they didnt have a toasted sandwich maker.

My bed was comfy. Don't miss BBQ night with the fire show! I was lucky enough to be there for the 3 international stars performing a high flying diving show. The cleaning staff are good at doing the laundry. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and the frig was clean. If there is a problem with power/ water/ aroma, it is all the island , not the fault of management.
