Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

The room we got was a bit smaller than the average hotel room so it may help to ask to check the room before checking in.
Good location, close to town. Friendly staff. Good value for what you pay. Restaurant food was good.

As mentioned in many reviews there are dogs across the road that bark through the day and night extremely loudly and repetitively. There was no maid/cleaning service which we didn’t mind but it would have been good if the bathroom bin was emptied - four days with an open waste paper bin and a ‘no flushing the toilet paper’ rule doesn’t make for a nice environment. Some of the staff members were not very welcoming.
Spacious rooms that were clean, bathroom also clean. air conditioning worked well. it was a nice hotel for what you pay and we also had good breakfasts each day with plenty of choice despite other reviews (maybe they took the comments on board as we had eggs most days).

Only downside was the wifi; good enough to watch youtube videos on low quality and send/recieve images and videos with a little patience, but it was very unsteady.
I had a very pleasant stay in this hotel! The room was nice and clean, and everything functioned well. Personnel was kind and helpful. Not all of them spoke English very well though, so the little Spanish I knew was helpful. The included breakfast consisted of a decent piece of toasted bread, with an omelette with cheese and ham. Except for the general city noises (some trucks and dogs), it was very quiet. All in all, amazing hotel for this price, I would definitely go back here again!

The breakfast was pretty basic, and the staff could be more attentive. Every time we had a question or needed something, it felt like they were annoyed. Could use some improvement.

The noise of the construction work and the muddy mess to enter the hotel .
The location was in the center . Very very loud . Road construction made the entrance muddy and very dirty . Loud work early am till later afternoon . Should have been disclosed at booking . The stairs to the top floor were steep . Not good if you are elderly or have physical disabilities.

One room, two men, two beds. They refused to give us two keys, and when we came back to the hotel separately, and asked to be let in, they were furious. The room smelled of cigarettes, and a rat ran in and out of the restaurant while we ate breakfast. In general, the staff seemed to be angry we were there.
Good enough location, but wish we'd paid a little more for waterfront.

Rats running in and out of restaurant. Staff acted like they didn't want us there. Room smelled like cigarettes.

Barking dogs keeping us up at night, loud people above us, no cleaning of the room, weirdly made beds, horrible pillows.
Decent price for the location. Off the beaten path, so no trouble with party noise, but close enough to the main strip to quickly walk there.

$95 / night for something like this is indecent! we moved and went accros the road and for 1/2 the price we got something 10 times better! shame on them to have this kind of price
