Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe room was a little loud with other guests coming and going at all hours but most everyone was respectful of the time and minimized noise.
I was very pleased housekeeping came daily to empty trash and make beds, plus bring fresh towels. This was above what I expected at this price point/style of accommodations and it went a long way to increase comfort.

GermanyOnly thing is that the bed sheets were a bit yellow, they have less plugs, and the heating only works from 7 pm to 7 am (hot water works always).
Nice hotel with Charme, very friendly staff, great location. Offered us a lunch box as we couldn’t make it to breakfast due to a trip, and breakfast the other day was also nice. They have Coca tea 24/7. Can recommend!

United StatesWell, they only provide heat from 7pm -7am in our room? Im not sure about AC during Summer months. We stayed 2nd week of March 2025, So, it was still a bit chilly during night time. and the bathroom sink has no Hot water, just regular 1 cold water faucet. The breakfast is Med. but staff are so friendly and helpful.
The main thing here is the Location. when you're at this elevation (Cusco) , you don't want another flight of steps to climb on. And its very close to the Plaza de Armas. The staff are friendly and attentive. Most of them speak other languages. The hotel setting is nature inspired and cabin/ranch style. Cleanliness is superb. They clean our rooms daily, even though we didn't request it. Wifi is pretty fast. and most of all, they offered 24hr hot drinks e.g Munia tea, Coca Tea, coffee. Self serve.

United KingdomThe WiFi was very weak in our room and cut out frequently.
The hotel is located in a steep narrow street in the heart of the Cuzco historic city and had great views. Despite its location, it was quiet at night and very comfortable. House keeping was provided - we could have reused our towels instead of having fresh each day though - and the property was very clean. A great breakfast selection was provided each day, plus they would provide a packed breakfast if you were going on an early excursion.

NetherlandsThe location is simply amazing, a few blocks to the Plaza and right next to the San Blas neighbourhood, its walkable from essentially everywhere. The staff was super welcoming and helpful, the breakfast absolutely delicious, and the hotel is beautiful as well. Overall, very happy and highly recommend Amaru and also their location in Urubamba.

United KingdomWe stayed a few times during our travels near Cusco. Really friendly and helpful staff always. We were able to leave luggage during each trip away. Rooms very comfy and well decorated. Bathrooms great. Beautiful garden courtyards with outside seating. Great views over the rooftops with the occasional burst of fireworks! Tasty breakfast with typical choice. 5 minute walk down shop filled road to Plaza de Armas. Good restaurants very nearby. Loved it. Shall stay again. Thank you all

NetherlandsI stayed in two separate rooms on the ground floor and first floor. The one on the ground floor was smaller but more practical. Heating takes a bit of time to get started.
Cozy place, loved the courtyard and the flexibility (for example when it came to luggage storage)

Czech RepublicThe shower could be a bit better, once there was no hot water (very early in the morning, like 3 AM).
It was very nice! We had a very nice room, clean and comfortable. They had an overnight heating, which was nice. The breakfast is also a big plus, and the fact they offer coca tea/muňa tea is very convenient. We really felt at home.

United KingdomThis was my second 2-night stay at the Amaru Inca. I emailed the hotel before my visit, pointing out that the first room I had been offered on my previous visit had been unsuitable, and this time I was given a perfectly satisfactory ground floor room. (It even had a wardrobe to hang some clothes!) So I would have awarded 9/10 this time (with minus one for an unexciting buffet breakfast). It's a great hotel! But then the internet packed up at lunchtime on the second day. I was flying home the following day and so I needed internet access to get some stuff sorted out. I asked at Reception and was given the unsatisfactory and unhelpful response "Try again in 30 minutes." Hence I twice had to go out to a nearby cafe and purchase food and drink that I didn't really want so that I could use their WiFi. The internet was back on in the Amaru Inca on my return from my second such visit at 8 pm, so the total internet outage must have been 6-8 hours.
