Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

EcuadorThey should list all of their facilities in their main page on booking; for example, that they provide sim cards with unlimited internet
I loved that it was in the center of Miraflores, so everything was super near and we got to meet many places by walking instead of taking a cab.

AustraliaThe bathroom smelt extremely bad, they’ve installed fans in both the bathroom and the bedroom presumably to help, but the smell is still terrible and we needed to keep the window open at all times, which was difficult because the room was right beneath the rooftop bar which was very loud at night without closing the window
Hot shower, comfortable bed, large rooms. Staff friendly

Ireland- I messaged the hostel asking for a late check out which they said would be no issue and cost 60 soles. The night before we checked out my husband went to reception to pay for the late check out and a member of staff tried to charge him the cost of a full nights stay at the hostel. After some back and forth the staff member eventually agreed to a price of 70 soles, even though we had a message from the hostel saying it would be 60. Then on the morning of our checkout, another staff member came to our room with a card machine asking us to pay for a late checkout and when I said we’d already paid she asked was I sure I had paid as if I was lying about it. - The price of drinks in bar changed when different staff members were working - The Wi-Fi didn’t reach our room which was extremely inconvenient because we needed it for work reasons. I messaged the hostel about it, asking if we could have the password for another connection that did reach our room and they didn’t respond/completely ignored my messages even though they had been quick to respond to other questions - Major security concerns with the private rooms in the apartment across the road. The main apartment door has no lock and is kept open all the time and the private rooms within the apartment all have the same, very basic passcode meaning other travellers could easily access your room if they wanted to
- Good location for exploring Lima - Nice rooftop bar, great way to socialise with other people at the hostel

United KingdomWe weren't aware when booking that the room we booked was actually not in the hostel building, but back down the four flights of stairs (annoying having lifted our bags up them) across the road in a private apartment block (its basically one flat, with each room (three rooms total) having its own keypad and shared kitchen). We didn't love this set-up as the front door is left unlocked all the time and the rooms are just pin accessed with a generic pin I bet is never changed, didn't feel that confident leaving valuables. Indeed after the cleaner visited on one of the days we came back to find our door was left open (along with the flat door left unlocked). On arrival we found the bedding and bathroom weren't that clean with some hairs scattered about. Initially there wasn't a fan in the room and it was super hot (until we found one ourselves). The bed was quite small for a couple to sleep in. The WiFi in the flat didn't reach the room (this was soooo annoying) so we kept having to sit in the kitchen area. The flat and the room in particular we had felt like it had a damp problem as the air felt moist the entire time. For the hostel facilities and vibe you are expected to go to the hostel across the road. We didn't bother as it felt like we weren't part of the hostel but just staying in a private Airbnb so not very welcoming to go visit and couldn't be bothered with the stairs. Kinda disappointed as we'd heard it has a good vibe. Sadly not for us. Wouldn't go back.
We did like the room itself, it was new and pleasantly decorated. The checkin process was simple. Great location to access most tourist things in Lima. The shared areas were cleaned daily. Lift in the private block to access the flat and 24 hour security at the desk to control who enters the private block.

United KingdomThe private rooms were In a building across the road that was not communicated to us before or whilst booking, this meant we didn’t use most of the hostel facilities as it was a short walk away, made leave luggage inconvenient and when our entrance to the apartment was locked by another guest we had to go across to reception which took 10 minutes to be resolved. It feels like you have been put in someone else’s flat rather than that you are part of the hostel. Very disappointing for the price.
The rooftop is nice and the rooms were big and clean.

IsraelWere a couple, we got a private room. No towles included apparently: need to rent for 5 soles each. Keeping luggage in storage - also 5 soles a day per bag. breakfast - another separate pay. Attaching a price tag to these services that are considered basic and ubiquitous in every other "above average" hostel just made our experience with this perticular hostel disappointing and overpriced...
