Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ArmeniaFor $290 per night you get: 1. Small (and not very clean) room on the first floor with the window at the street level. 2. Very noisy AC. You are not able to sleep while AC is on. 3. No breakfast. 4. No parking at all. I had a reservation for 4 nights including New Year. But cancelled it after first night.
Nothing.

United KingdomHowever, we were not big fans of the rooms, which are built in an unimpressive modern extension in the back. The level of finishings, compared to the old reception and dining area, were disappointing and very bland.
The old building was beautiful, the food was delightful and the staff were great.

FranceThe rooms are too basic. It’s a bit like an airport hotel feel. The taxi company used and in particular our driver was terrible and really quite dangerous.

United StatesLots of street noise audible from the rooms, even late at night and early morning. There was also a conference scheduled at the hotel on one of the days of our stay which created a lot of milling crowds and noise during breakfast time (it would have been nice if the conference venue is separated from the guest breakfast areas). The noise issue is exacerbated since the AC in the room barely works and you need to open a window to keep the room cool. Super basic amenities inside the room.
Excellent location, couldn't have asked for better. We were able to walk to all the main sights in historic Cusco center, while you'd need a car for Saqsayhuaman, which is fine. Some great restaurants and cafes nearby too. The staff were generally friendly and helpful, and arranged taxis for us and a same-day room booking when our flight was delayed by 8 hours.

United States1. Room service messed up the meal by providing noodles without meat. However, they did send a separate order of chicken only but ruined the whole meal. 2. AC didn’t work the entire night 3. Hairdryer was really old and it took ages to dry my wife’s hair.

United StatesWe came back at night after a tiring day and bed was uncomfortable. No sockets near both the beds. Hotel was loud and could hear all the voices from the street very clearly, did not sleep all night with bad isolation.
We came from Cusco airport to Novotel and had an early check-in. Great location near to Plaza de Armas, shops and restaurants.

IrelandThe concierge man, I didn’t catch his name. Though I wish I did. Quite rude, didn’t offer to help with our bags as we entered the hotel. Nor when we went to our room. More than that, as we checked in he stood behind the receptionist and glared at our passports. Again, very rude.
The location was very convenient. The reception staff were very helpful

United KingdomThe staff were hit and miss. Some wonderful individuals who went out of their way, and one on reception totally disinterested and indifferent. Also, some of the restaurant team also need to be more positive than happy to speak better English.
it was a gorgeous property with so much history with some period rooms. Also very well located.

United StatesI booked a room with 2 twin beds as there was no room available with Full/King bed. The receptionist had told me the day of check-in that they would move us to a different room the next day. However, we were not moved as no other rooms were available. I totally understand that they might be fully booked but you expect them to give you priority when you book 5 nights with them. They could have probably compensated us for the breakfast we had on 2 days. I could have become a loyal customer.
Book it only if you are going to be staying at the hotel most of the time. If you are going to be on tours everyday and only coming back to sleep, probably not worth it. Although my experience at Novotel was nice, I rate it as average cos there are many more boutique hotels in Cusco with similar rooms and better views available for less than half the price. The staff are very helpful and almost everyone could communicate in English. I appreciate that they sent a cake to my room the day of my wife's birthday. The room was nice but for $170 it seemed ok. For the last day of the trip, we could cancel our stay at Novotel for free and moved into a boutique hotel for $63 a night where we got upgraded to a suite room with 300 degree view of the mountains. So could have saved $400 had we booked this hotel for the complete stay.

United KingdomCommunal space gives way to old, dated rooms which are about 2 or 3 star in the UK. Showers horrible. No reading lights and generally room is really dimly lit. Past the communal space this is a very basic hotel.

United StatesThe rooms were basic at best. Everything was outdated and in desperate need of upgrading. The staff at reception was not welcoming to us, yet we witnessed them being exceedingly welcoming to others as soon as they entered. Within this price range Casa Cartagena is a much better option. Incredible staff, grounds, and facilities. We regretted not booking again there after staying here. This property should be priced much lower for the poor quality.
The only thing that was good about the property was the courtyard dining.
