Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe biggest problem was the staff. I had a swollen knee and I went to the restaurant for some ice. The staff looked at my small zip lock bag and said, "You ask for too much ice. All I can give you is a half cup!" I was stunned. I then went to the front desk, and the guy told me ice was not free and I needed to pay for it. Finally, they agreed to give me a half bag of ice! Also, the room was cold even with the heater on. Addionally, the location was not great. It's close to the rough part of the town.

Costa RicaI paid for a double twin room with a big bathroom and gave me a small one. It didn’t have a hair drainer, I had to ask for one despite of saying it was included. The room was the corner one, sharing way to close to another one and so you could hear everything from the other room. Pretty sure they over charged me for the room. A staff member of the hotel open our room’s door at the middle of the night (kind of breaking in) despite of us having the key for the room. It was very weird and felt unsafe. We had a blackout but easy fix. The hot water only works at night(not so bad). The phone won’t work to call reception. The WiFi is not stable.
It’s close to the city center. It has an elevator. The receptionists and chef are very kind. If you book a tour they will pick you up and leave you at the hotel. The lunch boxes could be better.

United StatesThe booking add was quite deceptive. We booked a look that looked as though it had a view of the nearby church. In fact, there was no view of the church from the room. The only windows faced the opposite direction, and what is more, the windows opened directly onto a walkway used by guests and staff. If we wanted any privacy, we had to keep the curtains pulled tight. This made the room dark and claustrophobic. Almost any hotel in the same price range would be better. Additionally, in the morning and evening, an awful smell came into the room through the drains in the bathroom. It was pretty bad.
Good location.

PeruThe breakfast was interesting … some of the food seemed to be leftovers from the night before. It could definitely do with some improvement. The spa bath was leaking and it was a little noisy in the room. The restaurant needs some heating as it was very cold in the evening.
The staff were super kind, welcoming, helpful and professional. The food in the restaurant was good and there was free tea available. The glass lift is cool! The bed was huge and really comfy and we were nice and warm all night. It’s near to everything and an easy walk to the plaza and next to the San Pedro market. It was super clean and well presented.

Austria- Canceled our first booking 2 days before arriving due to credit card (never had any problem with the credit card through the whole trip) put in another credit card - also didn't accept (also never had any problems), tried to call them & they ignored me and the messages I send on whatsapp, then we asked the receptionist at our hotel we were at the moment to call them cause he can speak spanish. They then answered and said we should just send them all the Infos in whatsapp. We did that and got ignored again, no answer to the phone calls or the texts! Also wrote them on booking - no answer. - You can hear everything through those walls. Couldn't really sleep, felt like we were sleeping in the kitchen - Booked the rainbow mountain tour with them, got told the pick up time is 4:40 am. They knocked on our hotel door on 4:00 am and said the tour guide is waiting for us - we just woke up, had to get ready in a few minutes, couldn't even brush our teeth and also forget a few things to take on the tour due to no time - booked another tour with them and got forgotten / not picked up. They then called a taxi to drive us to the group. We missed the first stop of the tour.
Breakfast, whirlpool in room, staff in the hotel was nice and helpful, good location

United StatesSHOCKED by the good reviews of this place. We were so disappointed. The rooms in the front were SO noisy with people coming in and out 24 hours a day and the doors providing no insulation. When we asked to move rooms after our Inca Trail hike, they said they would put us in the quieter part of the hotel, but then assigned us the same rooms as we had had before. After discussing with the front, they did put us in rooms in the back, which were quieter, but had no windows. Wifi was also non-existent in the back rooms. Also, almost all electrical outlets in both rooms didn't work and breakfast was just fine. We have never stayed somewhere with reviews this good and the experience being so bad; by far the worse place we stayed on our 2 week trip to Peru and Chile. We definitely will stay somewhere else next time we visit Cusco.
Staff was friendly and helpful, though didn't always carry through with what they said they would do. Room was clean and water pressure in the showers were good.

BelgiumThe hotel is quite old. It needs serious renovation. Our room was outdated, with no windows and the door was hard to lock. The breakfast was quite poor. At 8 o'clock, the food was almost over and only bread was left. Overall I think this hotel has a lot of potential. A great space and an incredible staff. But the management should invest more in making this hotel up to the standard of our century, particularly in the rooms.
The staff is simply incredible. Robert and the rest of the team were so incredibly helpful to support us. They helped us with some unexpected issues we faced during our stay in an incredible way. I am so greatful for their help. I rarely find members of staff so helpful and kind during my trips. Good job folks!

SlovakiaBreakfast had a poor choice. Receptionist- did not speak English, watching TV loudly during night which was heard in the room, they called on our room phone during night that tourist guy was expecting us and when we came down to reception they made excuses about not calling without even apology. Thin walls - we heard everything from other rooms. Noise during the night.

ItalyThe rooms were too cold, we only had (as in all the rooms) a heater that wasn’t enough to get warmer the room. The curtains in the bathroom were very old, short to cover the shower and the windows. There was not an hanger to hang the wet towels so I had to leave them on the heater. There weren’t enough hanger in the wardrobe too.
The Staff at the reception was amazing! Breakfast was good and every day there was a different selection of food and fruits. The Hotel is really nice and 5 minutes by walking to the center.

United StatesOur room was street facing and very noisy. Balcony style doors didn't stop street noise much. The room was quite small once you pull the space heater out. I think if we had a courtyard room it would have been a much different experience.
Fairly close to main attractions. A nice lobby, courtyard, and friendly staff. The buffet breakfast was as expected in Peru with a small assortment of fruits , breads, and juices.

GermanyThe hotel is very old and everything is ancient. The room barely had any windows, the toilet at some point just stopped working, the internet was very weak, the breakfast was simply ridiculous - deep fried fish with boiled eggs and olives ?! And all of it in the furniture in plastic, doors that squeak as hell, the spa bath didn’t work and even if it did the stream of water was so weak that it would barely get filled in a week. Also, the room had fitted kitchen for some reason without any utensils, silverware, plates or cups. Absolutely don’t recommend.

MalaysiaThe poor management and staffs , they simply cancelled my 3 months advance booking with a reason of invalid card which I used it everyday while I was traveling in South America. I had make a complaint to booking.com and was told this is the right of the property that they can't do much. So I was forced to rebook the smaller rooms with higher price with the same hotel because my Cusco travel plan had been fixed with activities with travel agency around. I received the second cancellation notice from the hotel again , but we just check in to the hotel and they just let us check in. We extended half day stay on the last day but no receipt were issued although we requested for it.
Is a hotel with good location & facilities but with poor and bad management
