Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesThe mattress in our room (505) can use an update. It was in pretty bad condition. Everything else was great :)
Very attentive staff. Plenty of spaces to chill outside the room. Simple but good breakfast, perfect for the whole acclimating process. We booked Rainbow Mountain tour with them and it was an amazing experience!

Finland- property uses very high currency rate - rooms are very moist/cold all the time due to Cusco being cold city and no proper isolation - up hill location, so be prepared to walk
- affordable - cleaning lady coming everyday, so the room/facilities are kept clean

United KingdomThe manager was very miserable, and did not make any effort to try to accommodate us on arrival. Although I sent an email requesting this, due to our unusual arrival. I could understand if the rooms were occupied, however, there were rooms that were available but he was very rigid and unhelpful. Also, I had to insist that we were provided with something to eat when we were leaving the hostel in the mornings to go on a trip. We paid for breakfast so expected a sandwich at least. To take away. But I had to make a fuss before he agreed to provide one roll with butter and Jam. There was no hand washing facilities. Everything had to be sent to the laundry and was not returned until after 8pm. However, I discovered a laundry just 2min away that did the laundry in 2hours.
The location was very good. The cleanliness was also very good. One staff member made an effort to be friendly, he was the cook and the bar attendant.

Vietnam- USD and soles rate is bad, would be better to pay in USD - WiFi can be unstable, depends on the floor - Some nights the electricity was cut off.
Hot drinks all day. There is a heater in the room. Bed and bathroom are clean and comfortable, the blankets are especially nice.

United StatesThey said they would only accept cash that day.
The hostel was easy to find. The staff was helpful. There are complimentary hot beverages available 24 hours a day. There is a large common area with a pool table, foosball, and TV. I found it to be quiet and peaceful. The room was small but very clean and had a small heater. The shower had the typical electric shower head to heat the water which is always a challenge but it was satisfactory. The breakfast is basic, a fried egg, bread, and something like juice. All and all a good value.

United StatesCame in my bathroom and there were ants everywhere including crawling on my toothbrush. Now ants can always be a problem so though this is not good, the part that I was upset with was their response of "ehh that happens" and when I pointed out to them where they were coming from and a simple solution to fix (a simple caulk job that would take 30 seconds) they did not fix. That is the unacceptable part.
Amazing view of the city!

United StatesThe wifi didn't work the entire time I was there. I had to wait an hour for someone to open the door at checkin because there is nobody at reception in the afternoon unless you request the exact time you are arriving. I had to wait outside in the rain with my luggage because there is nobody working there in the day time and no other neighboring accomodation will open the door.
The beds were soft and the breakfast was good.

This hostel is a more of a hotel than the hostel. It has private rooms, with private bathroom. It is very clean, and spacious, with a great view of the city, and fast internet. The breakfasts are good and the staff is friendly.

CanadaThe water was very touchy, it was either too hot or too cold and the coverage from the shower head was not the best. Also there was no key for the front door, but there was always someone there to open it for us when we rang the bell.
Loved the facilities, they had a pool table and a Foosball table. They provided a heater in our room because it was very cold at night.

United KingdomI booked a private room to sleep well before my trek but unfortunately there was some kind of party in the room above me. I let the reception know and they said it was a different building. I'm not sure if that's the case as it was literally above my room (303), but either way bear in mind the location of that room meant you heard a lot of sound. Normally I wouldn't mind, but it went on until 2am >_<
They let me stay on the sofa when I arrived really early, and leave my bag during my trek for free, which was really nice!

LatviaThe shower was weird, without an option to regulate the temperature. You never know if it will be hot or cold, however soon you learn to regulate temperature with water pressure. Sometimes toilets were out of toilet paper.

United KingdomWe stayed here twice and on both occasions our rooms had pretty terrible showers. In the first room, the water was scolding hot and there didn't seem a way to cool it down, and in the second room the water only got to lukewarm temperature.
This hostel sits atop a hill on the edge of the Centro area (its about a 15-20 minute, hilly walk to Plaza de Armas). It has a spectacular view across the city and there is plenty of communal space to relax, plus free hot drinks available throughout the day. The staff speak limited English but are still very friendly and helpful, keeping our bags safe for us while we did the Salkantay Trek, and organising airport transfers. The rooms and beds are basic, but comfortable enough.
