Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. An absolute haven in Cusco - stayed here twice. It’s very homely and the staff are lovely! Only thing stopping me eating 10/10 is the wifi

There is music in the lobby until 11pm and when sleeping on the first floor, it can be noisy with people speaking in the lobby.
Very nice location in the heart of the city center. The bathrooms are clean and the rooms are big. The beds are confortable.

Super friendly staff & nice rooms. Hot showers and heating which is not always the case in Cusco! Great value for money and we were able to leave luggage in storage free of charge as well as valuables in the hostel’s safe!

There is a lot of noise during the night coming from the street and the bed sheets are pretty dirty and old.
The location is very good, the staff was very helpful and friendly.

Quite basic room and en suite. With all rooms off a central courtyard it’s inevitable you’ll be woken up by noise once or twice. But then, you’ll be the one waking others at some point, so you have to take the rough with the smooth

We stayed in the private room and it was on the same floor as the common area so it was noisy at night and in the early morning when people are leaving for daily activities
The room was comfortable with hot shower. The common area was very nice. Good breakfast and good luggage storage.

Bedrooms all around main courtyard - woken up by people leaving for Machu Picchu at 6am all in the central area.

Quiet hour went slightly late one night and we had a very early morning.
Rooms were modest but did the trick. Breakfast was good. Nice to have tea all day. Staff was wonderful.

The floors are very creaky so if someone wakes up early you will hear it from your room. We asked for a taxi at 6 in the morning to take our bus to Puno, and it turned out that it was never booked. Luckily the guy in the reception worked fast and booked one right away!
It’s a hostel with good vibes in a good location, very close to the plaza de armas. We had a private room that was very spacious and had our own bathroom. Shower was nice and warm.

Toilets were not overly pleasant, often smelling and often dirty. It was also a very noisy location, not from within the hostel but surrounding noise levels were very high.
Room was clean. Staff were helpful. Bar area is nice. Shower was good.

It is really expensive once you're there. Their 'at-the-desk' price for a bed is substantially higher than via Booking. Their Happy Hour is 3 for 2. Anywhere else it would be 2 for 1... Breakfast makes you more hungry. Had to bring my own spread, which other guests asked to use... Laundry is s/8 per kg. Around the corner it is s/3 per kg...
The beds are really nice! The bar is very beautiful (but no one is there). They have hammocks. Great showers! Clean hostel!!

No en-suite with the double room - but it was located very close next door. The door was a bit flimsy and it was quite noisy as people passed by.
Vibrant colours as you walk in, very Peruvian. Friendly staff (especially Ruth) and lots of activities planned each night for you to join in with. Locked our bags away safely.
