Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomN/a. It would be unfair to comment negatively on the wider water issues, especially since the staff were upfront about this on our arrival.
Please note this review is based on a double room with private bathroom. Please see my other review for twin room with shared bathroom. The hostel was close to the main square (5-minute walk) but far enough to avoid the chaos, including a 2-day long celebration with marching bands and fireworks. The staff were extremely friendly and allowed us to store luggage for 6 days for free while we visited the Sacred Valley, hiked the Inca Trail and visited Machu Picchu. Staff were also transparent about the water issues (not always the case in Peru) and advised us the best time to shower to get hot water. Extra blankets were provided though not required. Room was more like a chalet, split over two levels, and almost twice the size of the town room. Having stayed in a town room before the Sacred Valley/Inca Trail/Machu Picchu, I would definitely recommend paying slightly more for this room type. The only reason I have not rated this 10/10 is because the breakfast was on the basic side.

Twin room was spacious compared to private room in Lima and Nazca. Decent value for money in Cusco, though I would recommend spending slightly more for a room with private bathroom - it is around twice the size and more like a little chalet, split over two floors.

CanadaThe walls were thin so you could hear a lot, but that is the usual for Peru.
Amazing place to stay in the heart of old town. Hatun Quilla exceeded my expectations - mainly because of Julio, the manager. He was incredibly helpful in anything we needed, tours, machu pichu, amazon, etc. We came back three seperate times between excursions and Julio was more than accommodating, allowing us to keep our bag in safe storage. The rooms were great and were cleaned every day. The location was just a bit outside the main square and inside a court yard, offering a bit of seclusion in busy Cusco. It was very well priced as well offering great value. Definitely stay here!

The owner of the hostel and his family were incredibly nice persons that they got the ticket for some activities such as Machupichu. It was very helpful for us. Also the view from the dining room that we had breakfast was pretty nice! Warm water, clean room, pretty interiors were also nice.

United KingdomThe bathroom ran out of water so washing our hands after the toilet was a bit of a struggle. Apparently that’s a Cusco thing though so can’t fault the hotel.

United KingdomThe shower would be not quite hot even with just the hot tap and whilst mostly clean the bedding could be refreshed as there were some old marks/stains
Staff were absolutely lovely and always had a friendly smile and were welcoming. They offered breakfast and laundry service and would check in what times I'd be leaving for trips and what I may need support with. Exceptional staff and lovely people. Was a perfect place to crash my head when out exploring all day.
