Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

I had a very comfortable stay after returning from Machu Picchu. Tiring trip the staff were absolutely excellent. The place is dead quiet the location is pretty good.

Comfortable and good for sightseeing Cusco while adapting to the altitude. I actually rebooked in after my 5 days trek. They also kept part of my luggage while on the trek which was very helpful. Very friendly staff

The rooms were cold, but they provided us with extra blankets. They were quite slow in resupplying the breakfast options, but that is understandable considering there were only two people managing everything.
It was very conveniently located just a short walk away from the main square and lots of restaurants, but not right in the middle of all the tourists. The room was nice and clean and had all the facilities you’d need including shampoo which is not a given in Peru. The staff were very kind and helpful, although they barely spoke any english. So if you don’t know spanish you’ll need to use google translate. They let us leave our luggage there after we had checked out. The breakfast was also good with lots of options. Overall we had a great stay here and it was good value for money.

The temperatures of the hot water varies a lot and it can take some time to get a hot shower. When booking, it is clearly stated that it is possible to pay with credit card. They also have a sign at the door stating that they accept credit cards. A few days before my stay ended, they changed my booking to fewer days (a later arrival date) without my knowledge or consent. When I wanted to pay, the receptionist said that I should pay in cash. That wasn’t possible for me and it resulted in a longer discussion where the receptionist after a while wanted me to pay half in cash and half with credit card. I ended up paying for everything with credit card, but it wasn’t easy.
Breakfast was alright and most of the staff were very kind.

The room & the water in the shower were colder than expected. Linens & towels not that great.

It gets cold at night, no heater available
Very clean, good location: you walk 10 minutes to the city center, comfortable bed, good variety of juice and fruits for breakfast.

We did our laundry there and found it was quite expensive compared to other laundry places on the same street which also take less time (2-4 hours vs one day at Inka). I guess you pay for the convenience!
Great place to stay and value for money! The room was clean and the staff was excellent. Always attentive if we needed anything and there is a nice little breakfast included to kick start the day. Location was perfect - a 10-15 min walk to the main square and in the other direction, a 15 min walk to the bus station for Machu Picchu. If I ever returned to Cusco, I would stay at Hawka Inka again!

Hawka Inka was quiet and comfortable. The breakfast is good but with many guests get in early or you may miss out. Hawka Inka is a 10min walk to the square and there are many reasonable restaurants, shops and laundries nearby (count your undies!). Great value.
