Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

No complaints. I loved my stay!
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They booked a covid test for me and printed out the results. They gave directions and recommendations and they served a lovely breakfast. I rate the staff a 10 because they were all kind, friendly, and always helpful!

Noisy on Saturday night because of restaurant downstairs and other guests - the sound travels up. The water pressure in the shower was meh, but warm. Breakfast was complete, including eggs, toast and fruit, but also a bit meh - not fully toasted bread, for instance, and somehow the eggs were tasteless.
Beautiful building, in an ideal location in Barranco. Room had lots of space. Staff were kind and helpful. Appreciated the hot water for tea. Really nice to enjoy breakfast outside. Would stay again.

It would be nice to have a kitchen, however hot water was regularly provided for tea/coffee and which was great. Would recommend having more vegetarian options (other than omelette) available for dinner.
The staff were really helpful with recommendations and providing guidance on using the local buses. The. breakfast was great and all the staff were very nice!

This hotel has quite old fashioned decoration. Our room was right next to the main reception, meaning we could hear the doorbell and new arrivals checking in after we'd gone to bed and there was light coming through the doors all night. The breakfast was quite basic. For the price, we have stayed in much better places in Lima. Beware that this hotel incentivises positive reviews in exchange for free lemonade.. I don't think they would score very highly otherwise.

Very noisy street because it on the main street. Needs more heating in winter time. Can be very cold.

It’s a little sad that they seem to try make money out of everything, for example we wanted to store our surfboards during the time we are in Cusco and they charged us 20$per week even though we spent 5 nights there. That’s kind of disappointing, we expected a better service/ deal for that.
The Hostel is nice.

My room was 102 and it was in the lobby. This meant that I woke up at 6am with the sound of the smoothie machine and heard every conversation and bell coming from reception. Everyone in the lobby could see into my room when I left it so things didnt feel as private as I would have prefered. Also no room service. Bed did not get made ect.
The garden and breakfast area. The sercurity and the location. Great breakfast as well. Thanks for having a fridge in the room. Spacious room. Nice pillows. The robes are a nice touch.

I think it's an ex-hostel, adapted to be a hotel. The space is not very well or conveniently used. Whilst the rooms try to be functional, the design suffers, bringing impression of clutter. It doesn't help that most surfaces are covered with information and warnings of what is not allowed including threatening fines. It spoils the nice colonial environment which should be exposed more. Consider using an information booklet and trust guests's common sense a bit more.
Good location, nice staff, nice breakfast although not a buffet.

The room was great. We did miss some curtains for the higher windows, sometimes it is nice to sleep past the crack of dawn. And our room had a bit of a funny smell.
The staff were great. The location was amazing and we really did have a great time. It is definitely good value for money 😊.

I would have preferred to have breakfast as a buffet! The cleaning in the room wasn't the greatest to be honest. The smell inside the room was a bit weird too.
The staff was friendly and the beds were comfortable.

No heater in a cold weather is catastrophic. I will definitely come back during summer.

The room provided faced the street and given that it is a very busy street, it was noisy throughout the night. The WiFi was also very spotty and slow, to the point of being unusable.
The rooms were very large and the staff was very accommodating. It is very safe and easy to get around from the area. The breakfast was delicious and the whole building was secure. The room was very large, the beds were warm and comfortable, and the bathrooms were kept clean!

It met our expectations of an older budget hotel. No frills, no fancy linens, soaps, or art on the walls. Super basic but the price was reflected as such. No notes :)
Good budget hotel. We got in late from our flight and stayed one day. It was a bit of a more "rustic" hotel but we knew that going in. The breakfast was great, the internet was great, the shower was hot. It had all we needed. The staff were wonderful!

There was not any hot water in the shower or sink. Very slow water pressure.
Staff was polite and nice. The room/hotel was in a good location to the neighborhood that we wanted to see. Room was clean and breakfast was great.
