Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. The room was very hot, and although it had air conditioning, you had to ask the staff to turn it on for you, and they would turn it off if it had been on too long. Also, it was very loud in the room, there must be a club or something next door as there was a speaker blasting dance music until 4/5am. The kitchen is very limited so you are basically unable to make any of your own food, it only had a microwave, and there was one bowl so cereal for breakfast was basically a no go. perhaps to encourage you to use their ‘restaurant’.
The hostel was in a good location, Miraflores. It feels much safer than the classic city centre. There is also something going on every evening, salsa lessons, pisco sours making, ping pong tournament so you will never be bored. They offer daily ‘free’ walking tours in different areas which is a great way to explore the city in a safe environment and meet other travellers. You will need small change for the bus and some money to tip your guide though.

The bunk beds could have had a pull curtain around each bed. This would aid privacy, of course, but it would also shut out some of the overhead light, if one went to bed earlier than the group. But then again, adding the curtain would stop some of the fan airflow, but at least having the curtain to pull would be the guest's option : )
Really liked the location. Price was great. Plenty of bathrooms and hot water. Staff super friendly. I liked that the big dorm room I stayed in was furthest away from the common room or reception. Lastly there wasn't AC but there was a big rotating fan that cooled well and drowned out the distant disco sounds.

Honestly there isn’t much to complain about. It’s quite loud if you’re into sleeping but I knew that beforehand so I was more than prepared to party a bit. The beds don’t have curtains / any block so everyone hang towels etc on their beds.
Many activities, good breakfast, lots of services such as towel rent or laundry. Tour guide helped me a lot with planning my trip to Peru as a whole since the situation in the country at the moment of my stay was a bit unstable. She gave me the latest news and tips for safe travelling.

My room was close to the street of night clubs so at night was a bit annoying the noise when I went to sleep

Pablo and Lars were amazing and the reception ladies were helpfull for everything. This Hostel is clean and hygenic. This hostel to put it simply is the complete package, rooms, common area's, shower ,toilets were perfect. Keep up the good work amazing team

We stayed in different rooms during our stay, in the first room the shower didn't have hot water and pressure was very bad. Our impression went much better when we changed rooms.
The hostel environment was very friendly and international. Loved the coworking area and the free tea in the common areas.
