Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesNo AC So many mosquitos The restaurant was closed
I only wanted to go to Raiatea to see the world heritage site, Taputapuatea, and for the excursion around Taha, so we only spent 2 nights, which was enough. This island is not as lovely as the others we visited. Unfortunately it rain and the ocean was very rough so no boat trip which bummed me out. The rain did let up enough for us to see the UNESCO site. I picked this hotel because it is next to the UNESCO site. Unfortunately, I chose a beach villa and not the other room type as the beach villas do not have AC. They do have a ceiling fan. I mentioned the rain because I am unsure if it caused the horrendous mosquito problem or if it is always there. This is also where the no AC comes in; there are no scenes on the windows, and I am really, really allergic, so we could not open the windows. There is a screen about 6 inches long that runs around the top of the walls, as well as a ceiling fan. We had to use a towel to open and close the sliding door to keep the mosquitos out. The room was nice and well-appointed, and the bathroom was fabulous. The staff was very good, but they spoke very little English. However, we got through that just fine—there was no Wi-Fi in the room and 6 French TV stations. Usually, we would not even know that, but with the rain we stayed in the room. The hotel is not walkable, and the restaurant was not working when we were there, but you could order from a menu, and they would deliver the food to your door. They have cars there that you can rent. You cannot drink the water so bring it with you.

AustraliaThis property is amazing, the location is right in front of a lagoon and reef with drop off. Also this place is positioned just next door to the most significant Marae in Polynesian history. Also, the staff were the best, they did everything for us, and were really helpful. And their food was fantastic as well . Thank you so much 😆

New ZealandThe internet was very hit of miss in the room, seemed okay in the restaurant area, it did go completely the morning Il left, but I think that was a network issue. The roof was nosey when it was winding or raining, which wasn't am issue for me, but could be an issue for someone who finds it hard to sleep.
Great beachside bungalow, beautiful spot. It close to Taputapuatea Marae, but a bit of the drive from the main town, airport of ferry terminal. Staff were friendly. Very relaxing spot.

AustraliaThe large local population of semi wild Roosters start crowing way too early.
The staff were very kind and accommodating, putting up with our terrible French. The manager/owner was especialy helpful. Amazing remote absolute beach front location off the coral gardens and right next door to the Marae Taputapuatea. Breakfast and lunch and local take out dinner they organised for a Sunday were good.

Great location next to Marae Taputapuatea- you can walk there. Our garden cottage had an ocean view. Very quiet and peaceful. Well equipped kitchen but you can chose to eat breakfast or dinner at their restaurant.

CanadaThe setting was fabulous! And the owner was beyond helpful. The only drawback was the distance from the main town. The lovely view, proximity to a hiking trail and UNESCO site made up for that.

Ronnie organized the tours who picked me up at pontoon literally around the corner. The most memorable was taputapuatea Marae highlight and Faaroa river ride Havana tours uplifting nga taonga tuku iho o nga tupuna. Also Ta'aha tour Vanilla, Pearl and Rum farm and bonus snorkeling coral reef mama also whipped up a kete and potae for us to take home from coconut leaves. United StatesThis is a small, low key bungalow resort on the shore, located away from other development. The delightful owner, Marie, is French and the clientele appears to be mostly French. However, Marie is fluent in English and could not possibly be more helpful to her guests. Excellent breakfast and lunch are available in the open-air dining room. If one does not wish to drive for dinner, Marie collects orders off the menu of a nearby restaurant, and these are delivered to your bungalow. The restaurant is referred to as the "Snack," but it's quite a bit more than that. The resort has a power boat for snorkeling trips to nearby Motu des Oiseaux.

DenmarkWe really loved Maries place, such a wonderfull and peacefull place. There is a great big housereaf just in front of the hotel, where we saw turtles, eaglerays, sharks and Manta rays, just amazing. We loved our beachfront bungalow, with an amazing view over the ocean, with a kitchen, and our terrace, hammock and beachchairs. Marie has a little restaurant too that is open for breakfast and lunch, lovely food and service. For dinner we made our own food or ordered from the nearby snackbar, through Marie, and they then deliver it afterwards. There is a mini market 1,5-2 km from there, you can borrow Maries bike or car to go there, and do some groceryshopping, that worked perfect for us. This is a wonderfull place in Raiatea,we hope someday to come back and visit again. Dont miss to go out on the pier/ponton in the night, there are so many stars, and the Milky Way, so beautifull.
