Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesCompared to other countries customer service in French Polynesia is not great. Breakfast they service is not good. Just baguettes and jam. Hostel did not have great ventilation so it was a little smelly when I was there. Also, if you are in French Polynesia, I do not recommend staying in Papeete. There are much nicer places

United StatesI saw two instances of young cockroaches in the room and the hallway. Not a lot of space to place bags in the room, we had to leave them on the floor in the small space between the bed and the wall.
Cheap, well located, good enough breakfast of bread with jam, coffee, and some juice. Staff was friendly.

Romaniagood place for transit, The double room is small but it has A/C and the whole property is clean, good shared bathroom. The shared fridge is not sufficient for everybody but we managed. The below little store is ok and non stop for quick necessities.

BelgiumThe stairs to the rooms and the door code. Another thing is, only two showers and toilets in each floor. Sometimes you have to wait longer if busy. No hooks or hangers inside the room. A small book stand to put some stuff and that’s it.
Great location in the center of Papeete close to the market and ferry terminal. Although the room is vacant, they don’t let you check in early unless you pay extra. I arrived early in the morning so I ask if I could used the wifi and sit outside but it didn’t work no connection at all. Nah I walk around and search for local SIM card. When I get back it was around 12 noon still have to wait one hour to get into my room. I booked a private room but shared bathroom. The room is not made for people with big suitcase. I don’t have problems because I’m a carryon traveler. The bathroom were clean with hot water. Breakfast was self service in the kitchen. Nothing fancy just baguettes with jams and cheese plus coffee and tea of course. Wifi works perfectly inside the room. The hostel office equipped with a small shop: drinks, snack and toiletries are available in case if you need them.

AustriaMy unit slept 12! People in one room (there were many more rooms in 2 floors), too much for my taste, snoring, coming going in and out all night) didn't make too good rest. And only 2 toilets and in my 2nd floor. 4 showers.
Nice Aircon and chilled (if you are not too close to the air unit) in the sleeping room . Nice small breakfast and good Internet. Friendly staff.

SwitzerlandThe walls are really thin and you can hear everything out in the hallway. During evening the toilets where not clean.
The room was tiny, but the price is unbeatable in Papeete. The showers and toilets are clean during daytime.

United KingdomMy flight landed at 5:30am (23 hour journey) and i arrive to the hostel around 7am. I understand check in to the room is 2pm but they refused to let me chill in the common area upstairs with the sofas were I could charge my devices and relax until the room was ready. Therefore, my honest opinion is that the service was not the best. Apart from that, the staff were friendly.
The hostel was fine for a short term stay, i booked the private room. Good Air Con. Average breakfast (baguette with blocks of cheese, peanut butter and marmalade). Really good location, close to the ferry terminal and next to the main market. You have 2 big modern supermarkets about 15 mins walk away. Closish to the airport, taxi costs about 2000/3000 francs. You get what you pay for and this is a budget option.

United KingdomMost travellers staying at hostel were lovely but some a little odd, had TV (in kitchen) on very high volume until 3am despite asking the guy to turn it down and close kitchen door to contain the noise. Also bought shopping (bagged with name and room number) and put in fridge. Next day all that remained were 2 eggs (out of 12) and no milk or other drinks!
Friendly staff, convient location close to ferry terminal in centre of Papeete

United KingdomEnclosed building without natural light (though you'll likely spend more time out enjoying Tahiti!). Walls are thin so we could hear snoring from other rooms, but ear plugs would solve this. Expensive, but not for Tahiti/Papeete.
Well located for ferry to Mo'orea, bus stop to airport & Sunday market. Close to many restaurants, shops, park & waterfront walkway. Staff were welcoming & helpful with info for buses. Clean & comfortable. Hot showers. Solid WiFi. Plenty of common areas. Big kitchen. Great breakfast starts at 5:30 so could food before leaving for the airport/would be available before tours.

SpainI felt incredibly lucky as some rooms from the hostel have no window and mine did. Not having a windows was staggeringly more expensive. I believe having one should be like a basic right in an acomodation. Breakfast is poor and scarce, served from really early in the mornig (from 5,30). The safety of the lockers was highly questionable, as they can be easily opened. Although beds have curtains on each side, mine had only on one side, making a complete nonsense, and lacking some of the privacy. After check-out I was not allowed to keep using the facilities of the hostel, not simply sitting on a table using my computer, althought my flight was scheduled for midnight.
Located next to the central market of Papette and the ferry terminal of the city, the location of the hostel is perfect. Staff is friendly and welcoming and ready to help anytime needed. Cleaningless throughout the hostel is stunning. Affordable accomodation compared to the overrated prices you find in Tahiti. My room had lockers to keep my valuables safe, which I really apreciated. Fans located throughout the hostel helps fighting against the heat inside the hostel, as the wind hardly moves around.
