Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

UkraineThe hotel exceeded all my expectations! That we extended our stay there, Simply highly recommended! Perfect value for money! Beautiful rooms! Especially the sea view is amazing! It is definitely worth it! And the bungalows on the beach are amazing! The beach is super cool with excellent diving! Free kayaks/mask/tubes/ Very good breakfast, How many different little things and how nice! And the most important thing is the staff! It feels like all the kindest and nicest people gathered in one place! Especially front desk is above all praises! From the first minutes as they met us with flowers and drinks and their friendliness and smile and so the whole holiday! Especially want to note Giulia and Mahinatea these two wonderful girls create such a particularly kind and heartfelt atmosphere and super professionals of their work! It is so valuable! Super cool all day excursion around the lagoon organised by a local family - I recommend it wholeheartedly! The shop with pearl jewellery made with love in the hotel deserves your attention! Everything in this hotel is made with love! Thank you very much! We will dream of coming back to you again!🙏❤️

United StatesThe restaurant was a disappointment. We found two good restaurants down the road - Bora Bora Beach Club and Lucky House. Breakfast at the hotel was fine.
We had wanted a beachside bungalow, but by the time we booked, only hotel rooms were available. When we got there, I asked if there was a bungalow available and they had had a cancellation, so we were lucky enough to get an over the water bungalow - and they didn't gouge us on the price. Beautiful room, beautiful view, our own private access to the water - loved it. Happy hour is not to be missed - many tropical drinks to choose from and all of them delicious. The staff are very helpful in arranging activities.

United KingdomMenu in restaurant was a bit limiting and breakfast whilst good lacked any variation. WiFi was poor away from the main areas of the hotel.
We opted for the ocean view upgrade which was well worth the money as the views were stunning. The staff were fantastic and so helpful. Room was clean with great AC. Free use of snorkels masks towels life jackets was great. On site gift shop was well worth a visit.

SwitzerlandSome umbrellas on the beach would have been nice, there's almost zero shadow during the day. Some minor renovation work in the lobby when we were there, but didn't really impact our stay.
Friendly staff, large clean room. Large selection of foods for breakfast, fresh egg dishes were offered. The location is very convenient and we enjoyed the beach. The selection of the small pearl shop next to the lobby was excellent and the owner incredibly helpful and friendly.

AustraliaThe breakfast was very average, the internet service was terrible only working in hotel lobby not in any of the 3 rooms we stayed in (garden, ocean view, and over the water bungalow). Very frustrating and annoying when paying that amount of money for a hotel.
The private beach and snorkelling was great with an awesome coral garden right off the beach. The location was great near AVIS, restaurants, Matira beach.

Overall
United StatesFor a budget resort, everything exceeded our expectations.
This may be the best vacation place we have ever stayed! Maitai may not have all the sparkle of the Westin, but it has all the frills you expect from a complete resort. White sand beach right in front with chairs and palm trees and snorkeling in a coral garden right there. We saw 10-20 different types of tropical fish! Free snorkel and fins for the duration of your stay and fresh towels every day. And free kayak if you want. You can walk into the snorkel area, or just climb down your ladder if you rent an overwater bungalow. Even the Westin does not have coral garden snorkeling right in front. If you are not in a bungalow, ask for room 73 or 74 or 77, 78. Our room had the most outstanding beach/lagoon/island view. Maitai has two restaurants, happy hour, greeting with a lei, tour desk, solid buffet breakfast, daily room cleaning and fresh towels, and no insects! The staff is super friendly and helpful. Thank you, especially to Giulia! For us, the complete resort experience at half the price, and the location, with other restaurants within walking distance (Bora Bora Beach Club), the Maitai resort was the best that Bora Bora could offer. Recommended!

United StatesFood was not great. After a few meals you might want to venture out to local restaurants for a change of pace.
Very nice location. Has bungalows over the water and on the beach. We stayed in the hotel across the street up the mountain side on the top floor. The view was beautiful of the water. Room are a bit dated, but are fine for the toime you spend in them and the price.

United StatesI don't have any complaints about this hotel. Everything met or exceeded my expectations.
I thought the location was a great value, mid-range price. The views from the main hotel building were truly stunning and blew me away. The on-site food and drink are a bit expensive, but the quality was pretty good nonetheless and the price was to be expected. Take advantage of the hotel bar happy hour prices if you like cocktails. The location of this resort is a pretty short walk (15 min or so) to Matira Beach, which has a larger beach and more options for dining, like Lucky House, which a great experience, too. All the excursions I did picked me up directly from the resort, and I did not need to go to Vaitape for any of that until my departure.

Great beachfront hotel that is part on the beach and part across the main island road with safe crosswalks. Nice units with good amenities. Very helpful and supportive staff. Free use of kayaks was great. We used the kayaks to paddle in 15 minutes to the coral garden snorkel area

We had a huge King room with a fantastic view to the East .it was clean and comfortable although the building could do with a bit of TLC . The breakfast was excellent.. had everything you could think of. You can swim at the private beach across the road , where they had beach chairs and beach equipment and a beachside restaurant. Great location , walking distance to the Bora Bora Beach Club restaurant and the beautiful Matira beach .
