Hosts allowed us to check-in 2 hours earlier, the reception was wonderful. The room's overwater balcony was fantastic with a fantastic view, the infinity pool was perfect, and The Gecko restaurant associated had great food with great value for money. Great location - north part of Vaitape, walking distance from the supermarket Chin Li and the shopping centers.

The beds are hard. The room is dirty. Lighting is bad. The wood decking around the pool is loose and covered with astro turf that comes up when the wind blows. Although we knew the room would not have air conditioning and we were somewhat prepared for that, it was still very uncomfortable at night. It is a shame, the resort is in an incredible location, and the buildings are beautiful on the outside. If the management was able to put some money into it (freshening up the rooms, air conditioning, fixing the pool deck, etc), and then charge a little bit more, Oa Oa could be a wonderful place to stay. But unfortunately, it is not.

First and foremost it is advertised with AC, it is an absolute lie, there is no AC. They tell you there is a breeze from the sea but that it is not always true and if you leave the door open the mosquitos will eat you..The matelas is 100 years old, the bathroom is dingy, the pool has missing tiles. The location is not good either as there are no beaches around. You could swim from the bungalow but the ladder going to the water is filthy with seaweeds. We had booked for 4 nights and moved out after one. Do not spoil your vacation, avoid at all cost.

There is nothing to like in this location.

The rooms are old and not well-kept. Everything is outdated, and cleanliness could be improved. We were expecting it after reading the reviews on booking.com. Still, it's disappointing to pay so much money for such conditions. And to see they are not acting on the guests' feedback...

Very friendly host. He picked us up at the airport and was very willing to help us with everything. He is a lovely guy.

My room was way to noisy for a holiday when you should be resting also A bottle water should be in the room for arrival as it a hot place other wise nice beautiful people who run it very helpful

The place was well keep clean tidy the pool was awesome with its view s if I went again would have one over the water being by the road was to nose for me the air con help cut some of it out also when you arrive they should have A bottle water for the customer being a hot place the walk into town was fine only 15 minutes to get to place the restaurant there was fantastic good food great service

Loved the o/w lodge. Simply great, amazing view, ocean breeze is fantastic. Tom made my stay so much better - great friendly personality. So nice to talk to. Gave me a ride to/from Harbour and answered all the questions before/during stay.

Our room was right next to the road, very loud at night, can hear every car, scooter, dog and chicken out there. Worst sleep I've gotten in a long time. The room is very old and thrown together, it feels dirty and the effort just isn't there.

I cannot talk about other bungalows but our bungalow was really tired and was well overdue for a bit of renovation. It was also right next to the road so it was really noisy most of the time which did affect sleep as did what was a very hard mattress.

Great location right next to the water. The pool was fantastic! Staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. A plus was having an aircon which was great. The walk to the town centre was an easy 15 min walk. Suggest you walk facing oncoming traffic as there are no real walkways.

Kitchen could do with an upgrade. No bench space! Only 3 large plates, cutlery and coffee cups and glasses. Where was the microwave, sharp knife, other cooking utensils, toaster, tea, coffee, sugar and milk? Very noisey with traffic speeding during the night, dogs barking, roosters crowing and loud banging music from locals. Such a shame because it could be much nicer. Also please replace the light bulbs in the range hood and light in the kitchen as it is very dark!

The floor was not clean, we were charged 2500 xpf for checking in after 5:30 PM which was odd, there was no A/C, barely any lights at night, the room was overall outdated and in need of renovation. Thankful that we only stayed 1 night at the property

Padding on the pool lounge chairs would have been a comfortable extra.

We were in #1 Bungalow over the water. It was quiet away from road noise. Loved the deck for views of the bay and how the spotlight at night attracted all types of fish. The pool is kept pristine. This establishment is family owned and managed. All were extremely friendly and helpful. The on site restaurant was convenient and served delicious meals.

We wished there were window screens but they don't exist in French Polynesia. We stayed at 8 other places and none had them.

We rented an overwater bungalow. There are 3 at this property. There were steps going into the water and our balcony hung over the water. We loved being able to swim right off the deck and enjoy sunsets here. We liked the small fridge, the kettle so we could make tea/coffee and the dishes. We enjoyed the restaurant for dinner.

Not much at all - a hairdryer would be useful and maybe a bit more shelving for clothing and a few more hangers in the wardrobe but all minor points.

Loved the location as easy to walk to the cente of the village - shops, restaurants, bars and less than 10 minutes from the airport ferry - Haiwai was amazing in picking us up and pointing out all the local facilities and also a fabulous boat trip tour with lagoonarium (wonderful family managed tour) and Haiwai spoke great english. Meeting Levi the puppy was also a highlight. All the staff were so welcoming and helpful, yet discrete. Pool was fabulous with a wonderful view and plenty of sunbeds (liked the fake grass around too, as easy on the feet), pool a great temperature too with long opening hours Le Gecko restaurant was amazing with fabulous sunset views. We had a lodge on stilts over the water and everything was great with again lovely views of the harbour, some of the islands, the boats/ships etc. Breakfast was more than adequate, with lovely coffee and served with a smile!

The veranda overlooking the sea gave us amazing views of the fish and the bay. Infinity pool was great and the option to buy breakfast. Pretty gardens surrounding the lodges. Tom was very informative and picked us up and dropped us back to the ferry terminal. Lovely relaxed vibe!
