Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomQuite a long walk into town unless you can catch the bus but hard to tell when they are coming! Would suggest renting a car. No porters to help with bags on arrival/departure and no lamps on the pathways to see your way to your room at night. WiFi connection is terrible.
Beautiful grounds, lovely staff. The pool and views are very nice.

AustraliaTheir booking.com website. (Your website) unlike all the other hotels I’ve booked through booking.com, this one isn’t very good. Confusion about twin or double bed. Is breakfast included? Can you pay extra if you want breakfast included. They offer an airport transfer for a fee. I tried 3 times to book it. Provide flight details time of arrival etc. Only response each time was . We are very busy, we will get back to you. They never did….until I contacted them to say I don’t want the transfer. Immediate response . It’s not too late to book!!!

AustraliaLocation, a little further than I expected plus it was a Sunday so transport + town & restaurants opening hours minimal.
We requested a ground floor room due to a very late arrival & not wanting to carry suitcases upstairs. Room was large with a kitchenette plus outdoor seating. Air con worked however due to high humidity it needs time. Pictures on site as per our room. Restaurant overlooks the water. Tania the maitre’d & her staff friendly & helpful. Enjoyed our food plus drinks. Breakfast as stated a little pricey for what is offered however enjoyable. Small shop with limited supplies a 5 minute walk from Hotel. We enjoyed the pool & gardens. Location requires transport to town. On Sundays shopping hours minimal. Hotel Staff friendly & helpful

United StatesWe checked in late at night after using booking.com to get the room. The desk clerk checked the person just before us in very quickly but had a lot of trouble figuring out how to check in someone who used a third party service. She had to make a phone call and even then it took her over half an hour to get us checked in. The pool looked a little murky also. Other than this, I have no complaints. This is a very good value for Tahiti; our room was large and very clean and comfy; the staff were friendly; the grounds are pretty.
The Royal Tahitien exceeded my expectations. We had a huge, comfortable, very clean room with good A/C and a pleasant view of the gardens and a private patio. Excellent value for dollar. I did not try the restaurant but I thought the menu was excellent. Hanging out by the pool was pleasant. I would stay here again.

AustraliaRoosters waking you at 5.15am; restaurant area had no overhead fans whereas drinking/entertainment area did; shower roses in bathroom were fixed height and became an issue for anyone taller than 4ft 6 inches; restaurant staff weren't overly attentive (couldn't seem to get their attention for ordering)

United StatesSliding glass door was very very hard to open to get onto the patio. The waterfalls at the pool no longer work.
Old world charm. The grounds are lovely with all the trees and bushes. The buildings are positioned so everyone has a view but from your patio you don't see into anyone else's room. Pool was very nice.

I’m giving this a five star review in the context of this being a three star hotel but is really bordering on being a four star. It’s in amazing location with plenty of car parking space, in fact you can park in front of your apartments and has everything you need for a nice stay in a well priced (relatively as everything in Tahiti is expensive) resort with a restaurant, bar, swimming pool and exclusive access to a beach (which is a one minute walk from here). The staff were helpful and the best thing was that this is only a 30 minute walk to the centre of Papeete and there are various buses on the main road. I would recommend!
