Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Loads of places to relax. Free coffee, tea and water all day along with a delicious and cheap family dinner every evening. Nothing was too much for the owners and they were so helpful planning day trips and onward travel. I love the yoga we did in the morning

SwedenLocated only 10 min from the official chocolate hill viewpoint. The hostel is beautifully set on the country side and has a lovely garden. Outdoor shower, communal area, hammocks, chilling space. Every day there is communal dinner at 19.00 for 150 pesos. We had delicious vegan meals buffet style! The owner and the staff is very friendly. They also offer cooking classes, scooter rental (500 p/day) and help calling u a tuktuk if needed. The bus to Carmen stops in from of the hostel (25 p). Will definitely come back!

ItalyThe hostel itself is a gem in Bohol. The vibe and services are top notch. The hosts and their family are so welcoming and always available to help. They also prepare delicious family dinner, which also give the chance to know all the guests and you became a family for a few days. The hostel is not in the most popular area but it definitely worth to reach it specifically for it and once you are there you can rent a scooter and drive around the highlights of Bohol and discover many more and less popular towns. You’ll be surrounded by nature and it’s relaxing sounds.

United KingdomAs everything is outdoors I struggled with no air con but having a temperature didn’t help that!
I really enjoyed my time staying at this hostel and I love that everything is mixed with the outdoors. The food is amazing and is the best Filipino food I’ve eaten, and it’s all such good value for money too. Arène is a wonderful host and is incredibly welcoming. It was so nice to spend new years there as me and a couple of other guests were welcomed into her family’s celebrations so it felt almost like a home stay. I was also ill whilst there and Arène was so helpful and accommodating. Overall being at this hostel made my Bohol experience great.

SwedenIt is very very loud at night, and the breakfast could be improved. Also, my mosquito net had very many holes in it.
The staff and the owner, Rene, went out of their way to make our stay very nice! The atmosphere was great, and the dinner was really good. The sunrise hike was great.

One of the best hostels I have visited in my life. Renee and her family give the best to guests. I went to that area because of this hostel, so I was just stuck there all day, not going anywhere for 3 days. They made the hostel by themselves using all the natural materials and recycling stuff. You can feel the devoted effort from every part of the place. Thanks a lot Renee! I will definitely come back :)

United KingdomAn amazing hostel in the middle of Bohol. It’s super social with family breakfast and dinner and a lovely experience staying in the mountains. The cooking class is also definitely worth it! You would need to drive a bike to get around the area but the hosts are so good at helping people that cannot drive find a fellow guest to go with.

IrelandSmack bang in the middle of Bohol. Surrounded by nature - beautiful escape from all the hustle & bustle. In close proximity to the Chocolate Hills & many other sightseeing areas. Staff are so welcoming. Lovely family dinner the night we arrived. Food was delicious! Mosquito nets provided for the beds which is a great touch & needed. Small hostel but that just means it's easier to socialise with other guests which was lovely. Everything is eco friendly including the shower facilities which are placed outside.

NetherlandsWe had a great stay at the Hammock hostel. It’s a nice place to hang out and relax. The owner of the hostel is a really nice and helpful woman. She gave us many useful recommendations for things to do around the hostel. There’s so much to see! She took us on a sunrise hike and gave us some information about the history of Bohol. The free breakfast was really good as well as the diner!! Would definitively stay here again!

GermanyIt was so far the best Hostel I have been. The hosts are so warmhearted and adorable! The chill out areas are stunning with the hanging beds and handmade chairs, even if it’s raining you are safe outside. One of the best things to do is a cooking lesson there or just join for dinner, tasty homemade vegetarian food! You just can feel the love in the air and the positive energy in this hostel, really! I would love to come back here!

United StatesThis was the most beautiful place. The connections I made with not only the staff but also other travelers was incredible. The home cooked meals were absolutely delicious and vegetarian! This has been my favorite last our first 4 islands thus far. If you don’t like sleeping in noise this might not be the place for you as the animals are very vocal, I found it quite peaceful though. Overall I enjoyed Hammock hostel very much, Renae is an incredible host!
