We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PhilippinesThe unique experience of living in an ifugao native houses is the best part of our trip. Also a good view of the area around the property.

United KingdomNoting! Truly an amazing and unique experience.
From the start our visit was great. We received wonderful hospitality at the restaurant on arrival where we had a nice, simple breakfast. The checkin was easy and Lola Gloria is a very accomodating host. The location is truly one-of-a-kind with unbeatable views that are well worth the climb up to the huts. We had private bathroom facilities that were clean and well maintained. Lola Gloria was also very helpful with local recommendations and arranging our transport back to Bontoc. We would recommend this stay to anyone seeking a unique experience.

PhilippinesI just don't like that their restaurant has a limited variety of food, and we have to go down to the town proper to buy some breakfast or lunch. I hope they will extend their menu and food options.
I enjoyed the view and the staff; they were all nice. Thank you so much. I will definitely come back with my future boyfriend or hubby. :)

PhilippinesThe toilet is shared with another hut. It's not fully booked so the host could have put us in a better hut with next door toilet. It was a Friday night, and there was a wedding party down the hill. It was so noisy you could hear the karaoke until 5 in the morning.

Absolutely amazing location overlooking the mountains and the rice terraces with a magnificient view from both sides of the natural Ifugao house. With a toilet and a shower next to the house, this accommodation has got everything for a peaceful and calm nature experience. Definetly recommend to everyone coming to see the wonderful rice terraces in Banaue and Batad!

PhilippinesUnsafe to stay , the incident happened on August 23, 2023 when we we’re out for visiting 2 famous rice terraces, when we were back after the tour and dinner , we had discovered that my cabin and my brother in law’s cabin had been looted by robbers, our luggages had force to open, my clothes and underwear, my wife’s Jean, some amount of money and my sister in law’s money and some of her stuff had been stolen, by that time we were so scared and feeling unsafe thinking that if we were robbed by intruders during daytime, what about we are staying in this place during night time. So all of us decided to immediately move out from this place and move to Banaue hotel, it’s make us feeling more safe and comfortable.

AustraliaThe host seemed to be nice and trying to look after us, but unfortunately they didn't provide a good service with their food and tour packages. To start with they weren't transparent with their rice terraces tour packages and the costs. When we arrived, it turned out nothing was actually organised unlike what they had promised and they didn't even know what viewpoints and attractions were included in our tour packages!! Also, they didn't inform us that the type of transportation is a tricycle, which is apparently the cheapest option and at times felt unsafe going through the mountain roads. They charged us for a 2 day tour and at first were imposing only a limited 1 day tour package and the person who had texted me organising it said since it's high season in June, they only accept payments in advance to guarantee our booking! It turned out to be completely false! After they finally realised what happened and we demanded accountability they agreed to include more items to seemingly make it up to us, however they never apologised nor informed us about the actual costs of those tour packages! I can say that the traditional huts were amazing with breathtaking views and I appreciate how the host tried to make our stay pleasant and also the tour leaders were fantastic showing us around and explaining about their beautiful unique culture as well as the rice terraces history. However, the hosts need to be more responsible and transparent with their tour packages, options and relevant costs. Besides, they should provide honest information for tourists like me who had no idea what I was getting into! We ate at the property's restaurant, however the food and the service were very disappointing and didn't come with smile or much courtesy, probably because it was included in the tour package! Saying that though most of the staff and locals were very kind.
I love the location and its accessibility to the main attractions. The views are breathtaking and the traditional huts are very comfortable with access to clean bathroom and shower.

BruneiSCAM ALERT! What ruined the experience for me was my interaction with Mr. Art who messaged me via Booking.com prior to my arrival. He offered me a day trip to the Batad terraces for 5900Php on a tricycle (that's right). He was so pushy, and even wanted me to transfer the money before I arrived. Luckily, I declined, and after my arrival, I managed a day trip via someone else for just 1600 Php, that too on a comfortable Jeepney with a professional guide. Also, Art charged me 300 php to pick me up from the bus station at 3x the original cost of 100 php.
The location is amazing, so is the experience of staying in an authentic native house. The elderly Po is an amazing person to talk to. She and one of her grandsons went out of their ways to help me every time I sought their help. Likewise, the Po who runs the restaurant was also amazing. She makes amazing pancit (rice noodles), and is an excellent person to talk to.

Philippinesit’s a trade off — you won’t get these kinds of views if you stay in a crowded area. Would be great if the property can also cater to families with senior citizens. As of now, guests need to climb a lot of stairs before they get to their designated lodge. would also allow less friction if info on wifi & contact of concierge are available when guests get to the designated lodge. and also info on fees such as bonfire (just so guests can prepare smaller bills).
- the views in this property are exceptional. - food was great - Owners / staff were very helpful and courteous. Art, in particular, helped greatly in our day tours.

Czech RepublicA difficult and long journey from Manila, but the owners are not to blame, they were helpful despite the distance and sent a driver to bring us safely to the accommodation.
The most magical place in the Philippines. 3 nights in the clouds among the ancient ancestors of this region, in modest huts, but unforgettable experiences from this region of rice fields. The owner arranged for us to have a tour guide Llyn, and helped arrange tours of the surrounding rice terraces, which were breathtaking. Thank you for letting us experience it, it was wonderful.

United KingdomNot an issue for us, but beware there are lots of steps to get to the huts. After nightfall, it's a bit harder to navigate but there is some sensor lighting. You're a bit removed from town, so you need some sort of transport to get to the city.
Gloria (the host) was absolutely lovely, super helpful, and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Gave us advice on how to navigate the area and worked around our schedule. The huts are lovely, cosy and clean. You have a toilet and shower downstairs, under the hut you have a picnic table with chairs and upstairs you're provided with a mattress, clean bedding, water, basic toiletries and a breathtaking view of Banaue. We arrived on a colder day and thought we would be cold but we were fine. The wifi was good and the bathrooms were clean. There is a restaurant downstairs with home cooked food. The pancakes are lovely. She helped us book a full-day tour. If you want an amazing guide, that charges below his worth please contact Ed at 0935 2266637 or @edsdumiwal on IG/FB. He took us to the Bangaan village, showed us how the local harvest the rice and then to Bataad.

AustraliaThe drive in was extremely narrow and we had to inch through one section to keep our wheel from falling down the ravine and our side mirror from scraping. The ladder up to our hut was a bit unstable as it was not attached to the hut in any way. There were plenty of mosquitoes around so bring repellent. While the hut is secure, there are gaps for the insects to get inside and we had a relocate a few throughout our stay. While we understand that there can be no toilet in the hut, having to walk under a neighbouring hut in the night to use the bathroom was uncomfortable. Feels a bit overpriced for what you get.
The staff: the staff are friendly and accommodating. Speaking the local dialect is a bonus, but English is well enough understood. The hut: the traditional huts are clean, simple and warm enough despite the lack of heating. Don’t expect hotel luxury, it’s more like camping with a wooden tent. There is a ladder to climb in, a light and a thin mattress on the ground. Blankets are provided - we ended up with a my little pony one. There is a short walk to an amenities block with a private toilet and shower. These are the type found in most Filipino homes - a bin is provided for your toilet paper (don’t flush as the sewer system is not designed to cope with it) and the shower is a wet room with shower heating system on the wall. Water pressure is not wonderful but they do provide slippers for you to use in the shower and CR. The view: you have an excellent view of Banaue (not the Batad rice terraces).
