thé location was amazing, the staff were so kind and friendly helped us find the bus after we checked out and helped us go to the whale shark snorkelling which was fabulous. the property is less then 2 mins walk away from the whale shark beach and u get priority and first to see them because of this. family run business and soo good

Considering the location I understand why the prices are high, but for the same price you could easily get a room in town with ac and breakfast included.

No wifi....the bathrooms can be cleaner and the overall cleanliness can be improved.

Location is good for a early whale shark tour. It is very basic....and manageable for one night or two and if the occupancy is low. There is no wifi.....polite staff who are willing to assist don't expect too much, basic comforts..

If you enjoy wilderness then this place is right for you! Very "natural"! But the location is amazing and you are the first to see the whale sharks!

location, if you stay here, you will be the first group for the whaleshark sightseeing. they charged about 1dollar more for organizing it but it is fine.. they were very helpful.

I had booked two nights, but I left after the first one. I didn’t feel comfortable at all. The staff was very unfriendly, and when I arrived, they had no idea that I had made a reservation. The room was small and had nowhere to put anything. The bathroom, which was shared by everyone, was extremely dirty and disgusting.

The only good thing is that it’s right on the beach where the whale sharks are – although the tour itself is really bad because it’s way too crowded.

The bathroom in the dorm was in a poor state and no toilet paper. I was woken up by the staff opening the lights at 3 and 5h30 in the morning to wake some of the guest that were going to see the whale sharks. The proximity was great but it means you will hear a loud speaker calling out ticket numbers from 5h30 in the morning to noon.

The location was great! 30 seconds from the whale shark swimming area. The staff was helpful in organizing the whale shark swimming.

This was a terrible location, it was the center of Whale shark entertainment. I was woken up at 3 AM by rooster geckos, it felt like they were right next to me, staff members cooking talking, and a loudspeaker, taking place at the Whale Shark location. And the staff members are selling you tours, making an extra 500p for you. When all the tours are fifty feet from the hostel... The owner of the hostel follows me around, so I don't ask for prices on tours. And when I did ask prices, she would overspeak me and talk to tagalong to them, to let them know she's bringin' me to them. It was very uncomfortable. I left the same day. Sorry for the bad feedback. This was my experience

If you are coming to swim with the whale sharks this place it perfect for one night only! Staff organise the shark viewing and get you up so you are on the first boats. Arrive here late because there is nothing to do here and you will not be getting much sleep. Don’t bother with the bungalow the dorm is sufficient.

It was late and dark with electricity out when we arrived so it ended up there was a mix up in what we got and what we had paid for a month in advance. Didn't realise until after leaving and checking booking and still have not been refunded. Nice older lady helped us to get mopeds at inflated prices obviously unknown to us at the time. She also forgot to return change owed us and to be fair we forgot too, although she had it wrote down. Nice older lady's kindness was not finished as we were about to leave. We were haggling a lift to airport and taxi man was just about to accept our price only for nice older lady to appear out of nowhere and tell him we would pay his original asking price because we were rich foreigners which ended any haggle attempt. Now if we were rich foreigners we would be no where near this accommodation. One bathroom between the huts, flush with bucket, my huts door had to be lifted to be closed and mosquito nets with giant holes. Electricity off for hour first night and I assume regular occurrence but a few candles or lanterns seemed to have been a futuristic concept as place was just totally dark and left with just your phones light.

Nice older lady got up early to stand in line to get us on first boat for whale sharks. Quite frankly even with all negatives listed below this alone made it worth staying here as would be waiting hours otherwise. If we were just refunded for mix up in extra room charged wouldn't even have bothered with negative review as hate leaving them not matter how bad is.

If you're coming to Oslob for Whale Shark watching this is the place to stay. The hostel is basically 10 steps away from the registration office(and the place where boats depart from). For the additional 100 pesos the owner wakes up at 2am to register you and her family members wait in the queue for you making sure you can use the first boat in the morning. The owner and her family are super friendly and very very helpful.

Unfortunately the place was a bit run down, and because it was beside a beach there were a fair but of lizards and cockroaches that entered without notice

The location was perfect and the staff, specifically the old lady was super helpful and kind, they would help you plan out what to do or arrange transport for you to make things easier
