Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

PhilippinesThis is my fifth trip to Siargao, and Sinag Hostel has consistently felt like my home away from home. It's perfectly located—just a few minutes walk to the famous Afam Bridge and Cloud 9. But the best part? Hands down, it's the snack bar! They serve incredibly delicious food, and it has vegan options. And let's not forget the staff—they are incredibly friendly and amazing, always ready with a smile and helpful advice. What I also love is the Wednesday night family dinner. It's a fantastic opportunity to connect with fellow travelers and make new friends. The food is always delicious, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Beyond the location and the community, the hostel itself is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. I highly recommend Sinag Hostel to anyone visiting Siargao!

NetherlandsIf I can name one thing its that the rooms sound isolation isnt great and there's a lot of construction and other noise close by. Earplugs might help
The best thing about this hostel is definitely the vibe and staff. Everyone makes you feel very welcome, shoutout to Lily. Not too rowdy, but social with enough people wanting to meet up.

Sinag Hostel felt like home from the moment I arrived! My favorite thing about Sinag is the people—both the staff and fellow travelers. The staff are the kindest, most welcoming people—they don’t just run the place, they make sure you feel like part of the family. They’re always happy to help and chat. Whether it’s the Wednesday family dinners, group trips, or just hanging out in the huge common areas, there’s always something happening that makes it easy to connect with others. The internet is super fast, which was perfect for me as a remote worker. My private room was really clean, and they have a kitchen where you can cook your own meals. They also offer laundry services, surf lessons, and different tours, making it easy to experience everything Siargao has to offer. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I visit Siargao!

GermanySinag is family! It‘s my second time in Siargao and of course I had to go back to Sinag. The staff is incredibly welcoming and makes you feel right at home. They have regular events such as boat trips and family dinner and they offer surf lessons as well. It‘s super easy to socialize because everyone hangs out in the common area. One of the best hostels I stayed at in Asia!

This is the best hostel on the island. It’s social but not a party hostel. It’s easy to get too and it’s a little outside the crazy of general Luna. The staff is so nice, helpful, will organize surf for you. EVERYONE extends at this hostel so just be warned 😂 the beds were comfortable with a light, outlet and curtains. The showers/bathrooms were great. You can get to many surf spots easily from here. The WiFi is very very good. This place is such a good vibe. Book here you will not regret it. My favorite hostel in the Philippines

PhilippinesOnly negative was the bathroom in our dorm was a bit grim, but all the communal toilets and showers downstairs were fine so we just used those instead :)
Lovely chilled hostel with very friendly staff. Good spaces to chill out and chat to people. Joined the family dinner (we brought some veggies and cooked them up) which was a great way to meet others in the hostel and set us up for the rest of our stay knowing some lovely lovely people (staff and guests and friends). Some nights are very quiet, calm and chill and others were great fun having a drinks with everyone at the hostel and heading out. One of my favourite places we have stayed in the Philippines as we met a bunch of excellent people here.

GermanyBest Hostel of My 4-Week Trip!* 🌟 I can honestly say this was the best hostel I stayed at during my entire 4-week trip. From the moment I arrived, I knew I was in for a great experience. It's so easy to meet awesome people here – whether you're looking to hang out or just chat, there's a really cool, laid-back vibe. But what really stood out to me was how much of a *perfect balance* this place strikes between socializing and having a quiet space to retreat to when you need it. There’s always something going on if you want to join in, but if you're feeling like a chill night in, you’ve got that too. A special shoutout to the staff, especially Jerr– this guy is a legend! He made all feel like part of the family from day one, and within minutes, I had made some amazing connections. He’s incredibly welcoming and knows how to make everyone feel at home. If you're looking for a place that feels like home while also offering endless opportunities to meet great people, this is it. I couldn’t recommend it more! 🙌 If you look for a hostel like mentioned above - click the book button now! 🫶

United KingdomCouldn’t use the WiFi in the room and the water doesn’t drain away after having a shower so every time you go in the bathroom you get wet feet. These are just little things, otherwise it’s a great place to stay.
Great atmosphere with great communal area. The staff are so lovely and super helpful. I originally was going to stay for 3 nights and move somewhere else but decided to extend my stay here for another 3 nights. They have loads of activities and will sort everything out for you. There is a kitchen which is the cleanest I’ve seen since traveling and your own box is provided for your food if you choose to use the kitchen. The rooms are a good size and the bathrooms are clean.

Everything - one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in all my travels. It’s not fancy or luxury like some other hostels, but the vibe is amazing, location perfect and it has everything you need. It’s very clean, it has a kitchen and fridge you can use (I cooked myself breakfast every morning), small restaurant next door if you want, really good AC in the bedrooms, comfy beds with curtains, working showers and toilets, good chill spaces. I could store my surfboard safely there, and they helped me rent a bike for a reasonable price. The location is also perfect, 5-10mins bike ride from the touristy part of town. Really close to Cloud 9 (10 mins walk) and ideal location to get to different surf spots. But most importantly, everyone that works there is amazing, and it’s perfect for meeting people. It felt like I was part of a big family. Everyone makes an effort to get to know you, and it’s really easy to meet other travellers, perfect for solo travellers. They organise activities like sunset viewpoints, family dinner, etc. and you can join nights out if you want. We had a big birthday dinner in town for Vanessa when I was there which was so nice.

ItalyWelcoming hostel with really enjoyable vibes. The common areas are amazing for chill. The bed are comfortable and room with bunkbed is big and super clean. Toilet and shower are essential but clean. There is also a kitchen, that is perfect to cook a meal and not need always to go out for food. People in the hostel are great, always ready to help you and give you any advice. There is also a surf club where you can enjoy lessons or just the company to go catch some waves. Good position also, really close to the populare cloud 9 with nice restaurants and cafe around.

PhilippinesThe only small issue was that the sink in Stimpy’s room could use a deep clean. The hot shower was also not reliable, but it wasn’t a big deal for me. Other than that, everything was great, and I’ll definitely be back!
Sinag felt like home from the moment I arrived. Suzie, one of the owners, and Chris, the manager, made sure everything ran smoothly, and the staff—especially Evelyn and Nancy—were incredibly warm and welcoming. As an introverted solo traveler, I didn’t expect to make friends, but Sinag is built for community. I connected with so many amazing people, which made my stay even more special. Their friendly dogs and cats made the hostel feel even more familiar and cozy. The laid-back vibe, scheduled activities (Wednesday family dinners were the best!), and great location are perfect for surfers and travelers alike. Plus, the Starlink Wi-Fi was a game changer, keeping me connected even in this remote paradise. This is definitely my new home when visiting Siargao!
