Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsWe were unlucky with the loud people in our room. But that’s not the hostel’s fault.
Nice location, kind staff. Bathroom is very clean and female/male bathroom are seperate. The beds are nice (soft matrass and curtain) and you will have your own small locker. Shared kitchen to use, a bar upstairs to get some drinks and there is a great place to have breakfast in front of the hostel. Location is perfect for surfing, would recommend getting a scooter.

SingaporeLocation is in a side street that gets dark at night. There’s also lack in security facilities or simple lighting in garage. Wifi does not reach rooms.
Really nice social space with pool table, games, table tennis, and couch. They host activities on some nights in a friendly environment. They have a kitchen and a laundry area which is a big plus! Facility is clean and the beds are comfortable. Staff is very nice. Jovan is very friendly, he does playful banter while keeping professional.

PhilippinesOther checked-in guests could maybe tone down a bit with the noise coming from the outisde going in to the premises but it's just tolerable.
My stay with sunlit was beyond what i could have expected. The staff were just incredible in attending your needs and answering any queries. The area is quite far from the busy area but I would not want it any other way. A great escape after a night of drinks and partying with new friends. I extended 1 more day which was totally unplanned! I'll stay in this hostel soon if given the chance.

AustraliaHad an amazing stay here! The entire hostel is very nice, clean and in a quiet location, restaurants and surf spots can be reached within a few minutes. The rooftop offers a nice hangout area, with music, Table-tennis, Billiard and drinks, what makes it very easy to connect and befriend new people as a solo travel. In addition the Staff organizes Movie-nights, Group Dinners and other events. The Staff is super nice and helps you in anyway possible.

CanadaI only have picky things because there wasn't too much bad here... Would appreciate some more hooks or shelves in the showers. It's difficult to not get your clothes wet while you're showering. The location is quite far from the strip so you will need to rent a motor bike unless you're okay walking 20-30 minutes each way. The roads aren't lit at night so it can be dangerous. It's hard to get a Tuk Tuk since it's away from the strip. 12 bed dorms feel like a lot of people in a room but everyone was respectful. This is just my.own comfort.
I enjoyed the vibe of this place. It wasn't too party party, but you could socialize with the other travelers when you wanted. There were some comfortable common areas so I felt like most people were digital nomads. It's quiet at night as it's away from the main strip. The bathrooms and showers are clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hostel organizes tours for you to join or some other activities.

AustriaSunlit, more like a home than a hostel. It's an awesome community, made possible by the spotless accomodation itself but especially the amazing staff working there, that actively get people together and invite you to daily events (give Jovan and Berna a raise for their remarkable efforts). Common area is big, good for working in quiet and hanging out. Great place for solo travellers and long term stays

NetherlandsNothing.
Sunlit is an amazingly chill social hostel. Everybody just keeps extending their stay because its so good. For us Sunlit was the best and most social hostel we stayed in during our 6mth travel. The vibe is just incredible. Outsiders came to hang out and people who stayed there before kept coming back for pool or drinks. The self service bar gives a vibe of mutual trust and made us feel at home. It's not a party hostel - quiet time after 2300 - but a very chill place to hang out. There is enough space to be on your own, work, read a book or sleep 'cause you're tired from surf. They have spacious privates and comfy dorms with curtains, lockers, personal light, ac, etc. The showers have warm water and strong pressure and bathrooms are cleaned on a daily base. Outside there is a rooftopped space with lines for laundry. The staff is super helpful, invested and they feel part of the group of friends we made. Upstairs there is an open spaced rooftop chillout (with roof) where you can play darts, ping-pong and pool and there is a self service bar and sound system. They have a projector for movies (currently being replaced), a firepit and beanbags to chill. Downstairs is a clean kitchen with good and usable inventory, a fridge and room for storage of food. Also there is a big table where people can eat together. Directly opposite the hostel is a vegan/veggie restaurant, perfect for breakfast and lunch. You do need a scooter to get around, but I think that's convenient anyways, wherever you stay on the island.

United KingdomWi-fi was pretty weak, doesn't reach dorm rooms which is frustrating as signal in rooms is also pretty non existent. You have to leave a 1000 peso deposit per bed, and also for bike rental. Location isn't too far from town but not really walkable given the conditions of the roads, so you have to tricycle / bike in.
Hostel was clean, showers had hot & cold water, basic kitchen facilities to make your own food. Free water refills, dorm beds had curtains, small locker in room to keep valuables. You can hire a bike here for 350 pesos per day. Helped facilitate a 2hr surfing lesson for 1000 pesos pp.
