Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Norwaythin walls, could hear noices from inside and outside- the streets, the corridors and neighbouring rooms; the kettle for water was 2x as heavy from the calc in it; my bed had a hole in the bum area- meaning it got so used that there was no cussion. but i used the pther bed that was in the room, and it was very good.
very clean, superb location, nice with possibility to make tea/coffe at the common area in the corridor, nice room for a short stay. the host answers quickly, 0 problem with check in and check out as you cans imply use the codes for the doors.

NorwayOur window was just above a place where people smoked, so we couldn’t leave the window open one of the nights.
The location is perfect - walking distance to everything in the old town. Great value for what you get in the hostel. Comfortable beds and blinds to make it dark. We appreciated that there were boxes that we could lock our stuff in. Clean - both the room and the shared bathroom. Easy access by code, which we received the same day as check in.

Czech RepublicNo luggage storage (but you can leave things in the hallway). For 5 rooms only 1 restroom, 1 shower and 2 tea cups (imagine how tough it can be when hostel capacity is full). To have curtains on the bed would be great.
Not many guests off-season (had a whole room for myself). They provide towels. Heating can be freely turned on and adjusted if needed. The scent in the restroom is majestic :D Location is excellent, too.

PolandYou neither receive a code to the outside door nor to the inside door. Wi-fi password as well. You have to call the staff lady and ask for everything. The towel you get is rather small and is not enough to wipe up your whole body. I recommend bringing your own. The shower is pretty weird - there's a sensor button that pours water on your for ≈ 10 seconds after you press it. Then you have to repeat the process all the time, which I found a little annoying.
The location is great, 5-10 minutes from the train station. The staff lady was really nice and kind to me. From the inside, the hostel looks very nice and well renovated. Tea/coffee is free. Hair dryer is also on sight.

CanadaNo place to sit, or meet others (outside the room) but there was a kettle and tea so I sat out in the hall (pictured). I am not sure if the upstairs "common space" is available if you get a private room (I was never given a code)... so ask for the access code, cause it's super comfy up there.
My private room was awesome (shared bathroom). Super clean. Easy communication. Quiet. Access codes for main entrance and room. The location was also amazing, walking distance to the train station and the entire city centre.

CanadaThe shared space on the top floor is AWESOME, feels like a living room in a big house. Kitchen, table, reading chairs and couches. Place is SUPER clean, and a great location for getting around. Great communication, and super easy access with door codes. (I am writing TWICE because I stayed in multiple rooms).

United KingdomThe rooms are on the 3rd floor where you have to climb the stairs. there are 2 rooms, the more expensive private one is locked. the cheaper one with 4 beds is unfortunately not locked. the beds are narrow but comfortable. There are no blinds or curtains on the windows. I have stayed in many hostels and after checking out you could always sit in the lobby and wait for a train, bus or plane. here after checking out there is no such possibility, you have to go out into the street. The lady who cleans is very unpleasant.
very good location. clean inside. for guests the possibility of using a kettle, you can drink coffee and tea.

United KingdomHad a negative experience with cleaning lady where she shouted at me continually just as I was listening to music on the speaker at 1pm - considering there’s a literal loud speaker in the lounge for anyone to use, I would’ve assumed this is acceptable. It wasn’t absurdly loud nor was I playing it for too long. Either way, the way she communicated to me was awful, I had to shout back at her as she wasn’t listening to me when I told her to not shout at me (think no English). There’s a way to say things; and I don’t like disrespecting a more senior person by shouting.
Very comfortable beds, not loud at all, you can have your peace & quiet if you want it. Kitchen & bathroom quite modern, and plenty of utensils etc available. Perfect if you’re working abroad as well due to tables and sofas available in lounge area.

ItalyThe bar downstairs might be quite loud during the night. There was no A/C so we had to keep the window open and mosquitoes will enter. The bathroom was just one but with two separate showers. Another bathroom would have been nice.
The place was nice and in the center, there are a lot of place to buy your groceries. Beds are comfortable and very clean.

GermanyThe location is above a bar, so could be a little noisy at night. The shower could also be improved, as the water flow was quite rough and there is no place to store the amenities during shower (a small hanging rack will be nice).
The check in process was very easy, the staff sent me the instruction and the codes for the doors on the arrival day. The location is great, close to the center of the old town and there are a lot of dining options nearby. The place itself was clean and well maintained. A small size towel was provided for each guest and they have a wooden box to store our belongings (bring our own lock).

AustraliaExcellent property with all the mod cons you could want. Close proximity to both the bus/train stations and the heart of Gdansk. Strong wifi, great shower pressure and comfy beds. Be aware that this is an 'un-manned' hostel, I know it does state this, but it's easily overlooked if booking while multi-tasking, so you need to ask for the door codes before you arrive.
