Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

UkraineI really not appreciate that I was approached in russian, even though it was visible that I’m Ukrainian. I see it really irrespective especially knowing horrible events in Ukraine for last 8 years and understanding russian crimes in Ukraine. It could be better if I was approached in English or Polish.

South AfricaI can't think of anything, but a bigger outside area would have been great.
I loved the location, it wasn'too far from the Old Town, everything is easily accesible. For my first hostel, it was really good. I also got to meet some really nice guests, all thanks to Lemon Tree

United StatesToo many people stayed in this small hostel while being sick and this may spread infections to other clients. There should be a check up of clients health at entrance before sharing a small hostel room with many other people.
Location is great, at walking distance to many restaurants, shops, trams, bus stops and the old town. Beds are comfortable for individual sleep.

United KingdomIt is an apartment converted into hostel. 2 rooms, 8 beds in each, one shower for all. On the top of this, there are guests of owners. In the morning I was in rush to the airport and I spent almost 30min waiting to access the shower as the permanent resident was there. Then she went to the kitchen, closing the door and putting Ukrainian news on. It was 6:30am, when everyone was sleeping. At the moment, its a home for long term residents, Ukrainians. I don´t mind this, but I was not aware of that fact at all. I slept maybe 3h in total, as there was noise in the corridor, then someone had been checked in at 2:30am! and she entered the room, keeping the door opened so the light from the corridor woke me up. The room is relatively small for 8 people, window was kept closed, it was quite hot, snoring guys from next room also can wake you up, even when wearing earplugs. All I wanted it was to sleep over a night with no disruption and get to the airport without the rush, but it didn´t happen. I recently spent 2 weeks in one of European hostels and had never any issue with my sleep.
It´s a place for rather short stay. Good location, close to Rynek. A lot of places to see around, also to enjoy Polish food. The price for this hostel was pennies, but I guess you get what you pay for.

GermanyThe hostel is currently being renovated so there was a lack of seating in the corridor or dining area, but as the landlord assured me, he is in the process of making everything perfect, so this hostel is certainly highly recommended after this renovation.
Very pleasant host, very funny, made sure I had extra warmth by putting a heater in my room as it had suddenly been very cold one day, and a beautiful old villa in a very elegant setting, the park right next door and the tram stop not that far away, very quiet and plenty of space, everything was great.

The hostel had closed for good when I arrived at 12 midnight,It no longer existed,I had to find another place to stay,I was angry ,they sent a mail to me but I do not have a smart phone or take my PC on holiday, the mail sent to me was at the time I was at the airport waiting to fly out so I had no idea what was happening,I was angry,I just want to add that Booking .Com made my refund very quickly and for that I want to thank them, but the hostel should have informed me or Booking.Com well before I was due to fly out,,If they ever re-open I will not ever use them again

AustraliaIt’s a small apartment, with two rooms used for the hostel. 10 people in each room, one bathroom for 20 people in total. Bathroom can be used only at certain period of time. The bath tab was quite dirty as well as the apartment. The kitchen stinks like cigarettes and doesn’t have anything that a standard hostel would provide . Some people seem to live there permanently. No staff

PolandThere was a problem with another customer. They made our guest very unsafe & uncomfortable. Management refused to manage the situation. It was very poorly managed. I'm expecting a response and them to fix this as we've been sending clients there for a few years.

LatviaEverything is absolutely shady about the place , American flag with censored drawings on it , kitchen tools that look like they could burn. No air in the room , noise. Some kind of ridiculous house rules like limited toilet time and paper use per person, etc. Very cheap bed frame , so the upper floor is swinging by every move . Linen is older than me . It's time for full renovation there, it's visible that nobody actually wants to run that place.
They accepted last-minute booking.

PolandDepending on which sign you read, the check in time is somewhere between 15:00 and 15:45. I was standing at the door at 15:15 and nobody answered the doorbell, my calls or my texts. I was waiting an hour before getting a text which bed is mine (I was let in by a kind guest), there was no staff inside. Moreover, I needed a locker (they are paid) for my stuff before i left, and I had to wait until 16:40 for the host to tell me that i can only get it when they come back, after 19:30. This meant I couldn't lock my stuff before I had to leave for an event, and even without that I would need to carry my belongings on me until the late evening. I understand this is a budget place, and the conditions reflected that, i have no problem with that, but the absolute bare minimum for a place at any price point is that I get checked in, and this place failed to do that. There was no warm water in the shower, despite the signs saying otherwise.
Everything was clean, the place was cheap and in a good location, some shops nearby and good public transport.

GermanyIt's a bit messy to live with 9 people in the room, but it's fine for me at least since it is the hostel. So it is cheap and it is what it is.
Best chose for travelers with hostel experience. Warm shower. Landlord was super friendly, and once I forgot my handy into apartment (and door password as well) I called landlord and they helped me to get inside very fast. Really in the city center. Excellent place.
