Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesIn the room facing the street, you could hear absolutely EVERYTHING going on outside. There were bands playing every night, and while I enjoyed the music, it’s hard to deal with when it goes until 2 am every night. It sounded like it was right next to me when I was in the room. My mom was staying in a room farther down the hall and she said she couldn’t hear anything. I think that room should go at a discounted price because of that.
I liked how clean it was & they offered a towel, place to store your food, free water on the first day, and had a microwave.

United StatesMosquitos will EAT YOU ALIVE. I know this isn’t the fault of the property, but just a fair warning! The bathroom and common areas especially were a hot spot for them - I have mosquito bites on my behind just from using the toilet. Showers can get really dirty really quickly! I witnessed the cleaning staff cleaning like clockwork everyday, but with so many travelers, you’ll always find hairs, sand, and more sand. Men do clean the property between the hours of 11 and 4 (maybe 3, I can’t remember). This is posted everywhere and is no problem, but when I was using the bathroom during these hours, he was let in by female staff without so much as a knock. The outlets on my side of the room didn’t work. I relied on charging my phone with my portable charger overnight, then charging the portable charger on the other side of the room during the day. Taxing. Men will hang out in front of the hostel. I’m not implying that it’s with ill-intent, because they mostly hang around the bar that’s across the street, but just in case you’re weary about encounters while walking or waiting outside for ride shares! **Honorable mention ** Miguel at the front desk is incredibly snarky and passive aggressive. He’s single-handedly why I can’t give this place five stars in terms of service! Every encounter with him left me with a sour taste in my mouth, although I could tell some moments were his idea of trying to be funny.
Juliette Women’s Hostel gets the job done! Honestly, I don’t have much to complain about overall - this is a good pick for a budget-friendly stay, especially for women solo traveling! We were greeted with complimentary beer or water and a personal tour. The rooms were clean and set at a temperature that you crave after a long day in the sun. The bathrooms were also relatively neat, though the showers left lots to be desired as far as cleanliness goes. Check in was nice and easy - Vivian helped us from beginning to end and was so pleasant the entire time! The area is great as well! Ubers to Old San Juan were averaging around $5, Santurce area was around $8 and to/from airport was the priciest at $15-$25. Within walking distance (no more than 10 minutes) is a bar right across the street, a Bodega for all your snacking needs, a bakery, brunch spot and more! Be sure to visit Ladi’s only a four minute walk away for good seafood and a great view!

SpainThe AC cannot be adjusted so if you don't enjoy sleeping on a very cold room, you may have issues. I asked them for an extra blanket as I do in most hostels and they do not provide anything extra than what's already in the room so they made me buy my own in a store which as a solo traveler and nomad is not good as I don't have any space to carry extra items. I've been to many hostels over the world as this is not your typical hostel. You don't really have common areas to connect with people, it's more like a hotel with many beds in one room. I would only recommend to stay here if you are on your way somewhere and need to crash for a night.
The beds are big and comfortable and the place is clean.

United StatesThe bathrooms were not clean and had no ventilation, one of the females in my room was VERY VERY sick and I’m sure she passed it along to me and others because I did get sick right after I left, and I didn’t waste time getting out of there.
A couple of the staff members were nice upon my arrival but after day one, not the others, infact they were quite rude, ignored my presence while standing at the front desk, and dismissive.

United StatesConstantly out of toilet paper all throughout the communal areas (which are the only restrooms to use), shower was not cleaned once(have photos), some staff made the stay very unsafe, the neighborhood is unsafe and covered with trash and stray cats.
Some of the staff were nice. The beds were seemingly clean.

United StatesMy only 2 complaints are that in our room (the first one on the left, I think Rm. 2) there was, intermittently, a loud banging noise, like pipes banging, but I think it was associated with the ventilation system. This woke me throughout the night. In addition, the room had black out drapes on all of the windows except near the a/c unit, where a street light shone all night long and made it look like daytime in our room.
I liked the cleanliness and the updated facility. The check in process was easy and efficient. The location was good. I liked that it was a female only dorm. It was very important that I could find transportation to the facility easily.

United Statesi wish there was a kitchen (there was one microwave for everyone to share) and no tables to sit and eat at (they did have a free coworking separate building which was nice to be included in the price!). there was also a lizard or two in my room running around the last two nights so that was a little unpleasant. but for showers, definitely bring extra towels for yourself as they only allow one towel per guest. for some reason one of the guests and i were given the same locker, and even when she saw my stuff in the locked locker, she unlocked and proceeded to put her items inside. when i told the desk about this they proceeded to tell me that they are having "locker issues" and just took the person's stuff out and put it on their bed while they werent there (which makes it looks like i did that). i was never given a new combination lock so that individual could have gone in and taken my stuff out at any time when i wasn't there. heads up, it's 8 per room with check ins and outs at all times in the night -- some people are rude and don't read the signs that say to be careful with noise and closing doors. they also tried to tell me to check out a day early because my friends who traveled in a pair were leaving a day early, and i had to show the my confirmation for the extra day. something they shouldnt really get confused about because like... what if i came back and there was someone sleeping in the bed i paid for for the night.
it was a fine stay! the security guard was awesome -- he was friendly and talked to us about the cats he feeds outside. they give out complimentary waters. they do give out waters upon request which is also a nice bonus. the location is great -- ubers were around $4-6 USD each time we went to nearby beaches, old san juan, and la placita.

United StatesTHE STAFF is AWFUL. They will want your Whatsapp then your email. REFUSE. They will non-stop text/message/then call you with STUPID things that are already on the booking website such as the checkout information. They can 100% send door codes via the app just like the hundreds of thousands of other properties on Booking. One woman (potentially named Veronica with big thick rimed glasses and older than most staff) was snarky and incredibly rude. Other things to note: Bathroom and faciliates are ONLY cleaned 11-3pm and by male staff. That means after pre-dinner showers until mid-day the next day NOTHING is clean and since toilet paper is put in the trash cans.. that means hair, dirt, and toilet paper everywhere. Bed linens are poor. The mattress cover is one of the plastic waterproof ones for toddlers which are incredibly HOT and anytime someone moves in the room on the bed... it sounds like diapers hahahahahaha. No privacy curtains and in this day and age, that's just a common thing to have at any hostel and so inexpensive to execute. Room 1 is near the noisy street and the 'blackout shades' are a foot shy of the floor. You won't sleep if you don't have an eye mask and noise canceling ear buds (which hostel travelers should have) No communcal space and three tiny fridges which hold nothing. Have leftovers in that fridge and want to heat them up? Make sure you grab utensils from the restaurant because none at the hostel (which is why kitchens are useful). Doors slam /or are not shutting properly. Overall if not for the staff, I might have given it another go if I came back but with the horrible behaved staff harrassing me and spamming me on my personal devices, ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND
The location was centrally located for a walk into VSJ or into Isla Verde or Condado. Queen beds for the bunks

United StatesFelt like a prison in the dorm and bathrooms. There is also so much space downstairs for a better common area. I dont understand why they dont utilize that better to hang out there. It was still clean and comfortable to be there but not like great to hang out if it was raining or to meet others.
It was clean, communication was good.

United StatesDefinitely a bait/switch with the upstairs photos (bathrooms/dorms) on their site vs real life. Bathroom stalls were pretty much dirty during my entire week stay, the shower curtains stained and gross. Shower floors likely aren’t cleaned regularly from the looks of it - wear your shower flops. Every other stall was out of toilet paper at some point, trashcans were almost always overflowing, and the soap/paper towels ran out but were replaced next day. The AC in my room made a loud booming noise every few minutes when it kicked in, lots of street noise if you’re in the outside/street facing side room - just people talking loudly or singing right below, no real window (a full length door blocked by the beds and a curtain) so noise came in but no view). I booked for 5 nights and asked to cancel the remaining 4 because it was THAT bad, was told no because of the non refundable rate with booking. But later, a different staff member cancelled another guests same non refundable booking no problem! She had the same complaints after 1 night and decided to leave too, and I guess that staff member was just more helpful/knowledgeable. I left for a quieter/cleaner hostel for 3 nights and only came back the last night to be closer to the airport and since it was already paid for. But still 3 nights of my booking paid and wasted, and not refunded. Also asked for my sheets to be changed and all they did was move the pillows from one side of the bed to the other, sheets were still dirty. If you’re into partying and staying up late, don’t mind noise, don’t care about cleanliness, and can sleep through anything including late night noises made by your dorm mates you’ll like it. 8 per room is a bit much. 6 would be better. If you’re lucky, you’ll get a quieter room with considerate roommates. I didn’t get much sleep here, and the state of the bathrooms is why I’ll likely never return. I’ll go through all my photos and add the disgusting bathroom ones...
Great location, low cost taxis since you’re central, very affordable, friendly staff. Lobby area downstairs is kept looking nice, free water, tea, building is connected to the most adorable little cafe (Salut) ran by the kindest person ever (Nicole) with super delicious food. I also met several sweet girls my first night there.

GermanyThe only thing is that my room didn’t have any windows. It wasn’t stuffy, but I like to wake up with the sunlight.
If I would have known how wonderful this place is, I would have stayed longer. Blanca and Miguel were super friendly when they welcomed me, they provided great restaurant tips. I felt very safe and the facilities are great. The beds are huge. Clearly the best hostel I ever stayed in.
