Shower was a bit temperamental, we were on third floor with no lift would’ve liked to know that before hand given we had a number of large suitcases but my fault really for not considering that possibility.

Lovely apartments, very clean, contactless check in via lockbox. All as expected. Loved the rooftop terrace which was a great place to chill and take in the old town away from the hustle and bustle.

Biggest gripe: the shower had essentially two settings, hot or cold. The hot setting was extremely hot. It appeared that the shower head had an electric on-demand heating unit, so it makes sense that you would not get to control the temperature as much. But the flow was quite weak and the unit was probably designed to heat a bit more water than what was going thru it. Not a deal breaker, I did manage to shower without scalding myself too badly, but be aware. The sink, lacking an on demand heating unit, does not have hot water at all, just room temperature.

Really nice and clean... The common areas were outstanding, especially the skylighted sitting area on the 3rd floor and the roof terrace. The room was basic but clean and comfortable for a solo traveler just needing a place to sleep, nothing fancy. Bed was comfy. AC was just right although I could not control it; luckily it was not too hot or too cold. Room was serviced between nights which I did not even expect, fresh towels and trash emptied / bed made. The lockbox checkin system worked fine, I got a message the day of checkin with the code to open it and retrieve the key. Location was outstanding, you would pay $300+ for a full service hotel in Old San Juan and this cost 1/3 of that... Excellent value for money.

Shower. Depending on your room level, water temp good with barely any water pressure or water temp cooler with good water pressure. Be advised, a lot of stairs.

The sink had only cold water - the hot water tap didn't do anything. Shower worked fine but the fitting to it (maybe an immersion heater?) looked very dodgy, plugged into an outlet a foot above the shower head.

I didn't know that I should have checked my email before leaving the SJ airport's free WiFi - the hotel sent an email on the day I arrived to give details of where to find the lockbox and the code for my room key. Even with the address, it took my taxi 3 tries to find the hotel, and then there was just a locked door. A woman walking by knew the hotel and knocked for me, then knocked at the store next door (closed but still staff, and they owned the hotel too). They said Hi, confirmed my name, gave me instructions, and handed me keys to the front door and my room. It wasn't a problem that my room was on the 3rd floor with no elevator, but might have been for other guests. It was all very clean, a common area on each floor, and clean room and bathroom. However, no coffee machine as in the Booking room info. Also no "Do Not Disturb" or "Make up room" sign - I assumed there weren't any but then saw one on another room. Also, as the room across the hall had a window as part of their room's "wall", their regular conversation and TV volume sounded very loud. I sleep soundly so not a problem for me, but again might be for other guests. (I did email the hotel about this issue). Location is very central to Old San Juan and to attractions and the cruise port, perfect for walking everywhere. Drop box to deliver key so never say anyone else except on my way out, the same woman who assisted me to find the owner was cleaning rooms and asked which one I had just left.

Water pressure was weak in the shower, room was tight.

The location was cental Old San Juan, near many restaurants, cultural sites and the main shopping ares.
