Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Very lovely place, very clean and a super well equipped kitchen. Comfy, private beds with perfect storage options. Quiet location with parking possibilities just in front. The shared spaces (kitchen, living room and outside area) were very cozy.

Shower arrangement in the women’s bathroom was a little awkward and weird, with not enough places to put your clothes and towel. Make sure you show up with a wad of cash, I was chastised for not having 20€ for a key deposit, I had been walking the Fisherman Trail for 9 days at that point, and didn’t have a lot of cash on me when I arrived after a very long 8 hour day, having been in small villages where I had already paid for my accommodations. It’s also way off the trail and a long walk from the town where restaurants are. In reality I should have stayed here two nights and rested.
It was a cozy surfer hostel, even though I was there as a hiker.

For me was not enough privacy in the girls shower. And it could be good to have a shelf for shampoo in the shower.
Very cozy place, friendly people, a clean kitchen, nice design and patio. Good to have a privet parking at the same place and supermarket nearby. Such a lovely hostel with a home atmosphere!

You can’t use the stove before 8.30, a bit of a bummer if you want to get up early
Amazing hosts, who really care about the guests. It’s super-clean, the kitchen is huge and fully equipped. The beaches are also really close and if you’re a surfer you can find waves all the time. Julio is also very helpful when you don’t know where to find waves for your level

The Black Sheep is a very nice Hostel with very friendly staff and owners. Whenever there is something you can go to them and they help you. People are in a very good mood and sit outside together and enjoy the evening. There is no breakfast but everyone can cook and make breakfast for theirselves. They clean every day. Thank you for the very nice stay!

Blacksheep was probably the best hostel I've ever stayed in. I stayed for 3 nights in an all-girls dorm. The community rooms are very spacious and lovely decorated, you really feel at home and have more than enough room to either engage with your fellow travellers or enjoy some peace and quiet on your own. The whole hostel was very clean and quiet.

I didn’t like walking along the road to get to the accommodation, but you learn adapt.
A great place to connect with yourself again and easy to connect with other nice people. The hosts were very kind, helpful, attentively and conscious and this is also representing in their beautiful home and organization. The best way to understand is to experience it yourself. Surf lessons are great, different kind of good beaches are walking distance and supermarket is 1 minute walk.

The location wasn't far from the town, maybe 12 minutes walk, however most of the walk is down a long empty, quiet road. For this reason I wouldn't have felt very comfortable walking back to the guest house alone after dark. The area definitely didn't feel unsafe, and if you've gone out and are coming back with other people it wouldn't be a problem at all.
Black Sheep Guest House is just as great as the photos show it to be. Lots of lovely space to relax. The owners are so nice and really helpful, as was everyone I met there. Really loved it.

A bit far from a city, but in the end it's 15 minutes walk, so not that bad :)
Great patio, well equipped kitchen, wonderful hosts and people in guesthouse, good combination of privacy and socializing possibilities, yoga mats available, surf classes organized. All small things which make you feel at home! :) And once again: wonderfull hosts!

Esther was super welcoming, friendly and helpful. The location is great as the main beaches are available within walking distance. The way the run their hostel is by promoting a respectful and friendly environment. It’s one of the hostels where I could best rest because people there are chilling, on vacation and if they parting they are not being loud or disturbing others. I can only recommend this place and will be happy to go back.
