Hard to find parking nearby. I always ended up parking near the cemetery and then walking 10 minutes to the property.

The room was clean and comfortable. The shower worked great! WiFi worked great as well. The owner was very friendly. There as a kitchen for common use. The breakfast was very nice as well.

Staff were super friendly and accommodating, breakfast was great, always a little home cooked addition every morning. We met great people whilst staying there also. Martins let us check in early, even offered us breakfast on arrival. Provided lots of info on the island, free parking maps etc etc. kitchen and bathrooms were clean and very well equipped. Our bed was super super comfortable and the air con was a god send. Martins clearly takes a lot of pride in his hostel and great care with his customers.

Very comfortable accomodation in the heart of the old town Very convenient location in Ponta Delgada Martins is an amazing host and he does everything in his power to please his customers. The kitchen is fully equipped and you can get fresh water from the dispenser. There are several showers and toilets and they're quite clean. The towels got changed several times during my 1 week stay, the bed and pillow are comfortable too. The breakfast is really good ( good quality coffee and fresh homemade pastries / cakes every morning)

It can get quite busy with the bathrooms and they were not always super clean. It gets loud during the night as it's a central street. It felt pricey for only a room with shared bathroom but that seem to be the prices here.

I loved everything. Martins is a special host, devoted to his job and the all clients. He offered two bottles of azores wine. The hostel is very clean. It has a nice kitchen, usefull to cook, especially when it's difficult to book at the restaurant. Martins prepares everyday a special breakfast for his clients. I felt at home.

It was a bit of a walk to a bigger lot with (available) free parking once we picked up a car, and there was only one bathroom upstairs despite more rooms, but neither was a big deal and I would absolutely stay here again.

I'll echo others' sentiments that Martins is about as welcoming and helpful as can be (even without sharing a common language we are both fluent in!). It was very clean and quiet for a hostel. We had our own room with a balcony and it was comfortable. The water was hot in the shower. Breakfast included a wide spread. Martins was easy to communicate with for a quick ride from the airport on a rainy night for a very reasonable price. Laundry access was available for a suggested donation to contribute to electricity and soap. It was only a short walk into downtown to see the sights.

The only downside is noise coming from outside, but that is expected as the hostel is centrally located, in the area full of restaurants and nightlife.

Martins (the owner) runs a very clean facility. Great location, close to everything. The available breakfast 'buffet' was great and much better than expected in a hostel.

The location is incredible! The room is spacious and very comfortable, there is a large kitchen/sitting space/terrace which I really enjoyed using. The owner was very kind and welcoming. I booked last minute and it ended up being my favorite stay of the trip. Breakfast is included.

There isn’t a space to dry clothes if it is raining, the area for hanging clothes to dry is outside which is great but if you’re drying off clothes that got wet in the rain and it continues to rain there’s nowhere to hang clothes.

The property was well placed in the centre or PD as well as being near to the free parkings so I could easily go out and explore the island. Martin the owner is amazing, it’s a passion project you can see, he varies the breakfast everyday and bakes fresh goods. The bathrooms and rooms are clean and spacious and the bed sheets and towels are provided free.

I recently had my first ever experience staying in a hostel, and Bruma Hostel set the bar incredibly high! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with open arms by the wonderful host, Martins, who made me feel right at home. Everything was perfect!

It is one of the best hostels I have stayed in! Not only it's clean, it's spacious, it feels like home, and the owner is adorable (just 3 words: fresh homemade cake every morning!), but everything you always thought "would be nice if..." has already been thought and put there for you. A nice full kitchen? YES. A comfortable shelf and bag where to put your things while in bed (with curtains obviously)? YES. Washing machine and place to hang your clothes? YES. And so much more :)
