Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainThe top bunks don't have curtains, it's a bit of a walk to the city center but it's a nice walk.
The room is quite big, there is a lot of beds but there is a big locker for every person staying so the bags aren't in the way, the bottom bunk beds have curtains (the top ones don't) and the toilet was OK because there were very few people staying when I was there, but I don't know if 10 people were staying at the same time it would have been as convenient. Easy to get to from the airport.

New ZealandOnly a small thing. The bathroom was a shared bathroom with the dorms next door which was fine except people kept forgetting to unlock the door so we could never use the bathroom
Private room was very comfortable and the kitchen was great!

New ZealandOnly one bathroom for the womans dorm and its shared with private room. There was a rush near check out time. I booked a mixed room to be with my friend but they automatically changed me to a female dorm without asking… and did not offer to change me back to mixed. They should ask if this is ok before changing me.
Great kitchen and courtyard with tables. Very comfortable. Good beds - lower bed has curtains.

MalaysiaThe shared bathroom can be noisy in the mornings (the lock makes a lot of noise – by some guests who are more rough or inconsiderately loud people).
Nice bed, cozy private room, friendly receptionists, very clean. Kitchen and shared areas are great, well stocked with cooking / eating equipment, and communal. Walking distance to anywhere in Porto and near a metro. Tucked away at a more quiet district with more local vibes. Near plenty of cafes and restaurants.

United KingdomNo fault of the establishment but there is always a risk with sharing a room and one bathroom with up to seven other people, in our case a drunk northerner who fell asleep in the bathroom for a few hours after singing at the top of his voice and then when he eventually woke took a shower then proceeded to put on another guests jacket and then tried to take the backpack of my friend who was still asleep (how I will never know!), luckily there was no real intent to steal, only an addled brain!
Cheap and good value, comfortable bed and clean, helpful staff at check in, touch pad key cards that makes entry simple An excellent cafe a few doors away that serve good food until late. Also fairly close to Campanha station.

RomaniaThe wifi wasn't working in the room, so I had to use my data (wifi is good only in the common area) There was only 1 bathroom for 8 people in one room
It's really close to center (15-20 mins walk), and some shops around The hostel is really clean, good kitchen, there is a fridge to put your stuff. You have TV in the common area. There is a clothes rack on the balcony to dry your towel, clothes.

NetherlandsHostel is great, nice kitchen and bathroom. Cute garden. Staff is nice and straight forward. Only things is it can get really hot so you have to keep windows open, but if they’re open the sun shines in the room really early which can wake you up. And the wifi only works well inside downstairs

Australia- Dorm beds do not have any privacy curtain for the top bunk bed - If bathroom was busy for the dorm, then need to go downstairs to use a toilet (without shower). This was not a big deal.
+ Comfortable bed and pillow in dorm + Private locker was provided + Bathroom and toilet were clean, with good water pressure + Location is great because it is about 250-metres away from the "24 de Agosto" metro, from where you can go directly to Porto Airport + Kitchen facilities are adequate, clean and full of utensils + Dining space can be a good place to meet travelers

SpainNothing in particular.
Room was for 8 people, it had a door to divide it so you did not hear 7 people but 4. In addition, my ' part' of my room did not have the door of the bathroom so i was even quieter.

Czech RepublicNo air conditioning. Throughout the building it smelled a bit weird. I wish the upper bunk bed had a curtain like the lower one. Also, the socket was a bit far, I could hardly reach to charge my phone. I heard they provide extension cords for a deposit but if you’re self checking in after 9pm, there’s nobody that can help you with anything. Basically, from 9pm to 9am it’s DIY.
The hostel location was fine. The bathroom had all the facilities.

JapanThe place of the charging plug for the upper beds can be improved with the extending code or some ways. The plugs are only placed in the bottom of the wall so people on the upper beds can't keep their smartphones or cameras charged while sleeping because someone may steal them owing to their locations. On the other hand, people on the beds below can keep becase their beds have curtains and the charging spots are so close to put their phones inside the curtains. It seemed unfair and uncomfortable for people on the upper beds. Besides, the number of the shower and toilet are limited comparison to the capacity.
The location was good and the staff were kind.
