Great location, wonderful garden, super clean, multiple common areas, outstanding family dinners cooked from scratch with local ingredients, and, best of all, the friendliest most welcoming staff a traveler could wish for. Truly a home away from home. Like several of my fellow guests, I will be back.

The only problem was that the wifi was unstable in the dorm, but I could probably easily have avoided that problem by going to another part of the property.

The whole property is a very interesting place (probably partly because it used to belong to an artist). The owners are very friendly and relaxed people.

It was all good.

I was received as family on the first night with a family dinner. I stayed for five nights, and the longer I stayed, the more I realised that this is not just a hostel. It is the dream of some genuinely nice and positive people who wanted to do something different. Their philosophy is to create a place for people from different walks of life, from different corners of the earth, to meet and connect. And their dream is coming true! I liked that I was welcomed by the host Stefan, who was very nice and explained everything very well. You have everything you need, it’s nice and clean and comfortable and has a nice view of the pico mountains. I came in the winter so didn’t get to use the outside space, but in the summer I’m sure it’s very nice! It’s well located, walking distance to the center of the city. In the morning you have a very nice breakfast selection that helps you start the day. They really make you feel welcome and part of the “Loving Strangers” family. Thank you Stefan and Sofia

The bed wasn't comfortable for me, too soft, I couldn't sleep properly. But apart from that everything was just perfect.

Amazing hostel on Pico island, one of the best I've ever been to. Exclusive breakfast with homemade pancakes. 120-old house turned into beautiful guest rooms. Everything is new and fresh and still keeps the vibes of history. The garden on the territory is a jewel. Would love to spend more time there. You're welcomed in a personal way and can maintain balance between private and social.

I was there for two days. Stefan is a super host, you can always count on his help and good word. The rooms and bathrooms are clean and the freshly prepared breakfasts are delicious. An ideal option for travellers wanting to climb Pico, at a very reasonable price.

Stefan and Pedro are fantastic host and have created an incredible atmosphere at this place. This is definitely more than just a regular hotel stay! The whole space is very natural and pleasant, the breakfast is local and fresh, the location is great. A very good option for spending a few days in Pico.

Loved Our Stay at Loving Strangers Hostel! We had such a great time staying at Loving Strangers Hostel! Stefan, the owner, was super friendly and made us feel right at home from the start. He gave us a tour of the hostel and even the area around it, plus he made us breakfast every morning and took care of anything we needed. It really felt like staying with a friend! We stayed in the Musicians Room, and it was awesome. The decor was cool, the bed was super comfy, and everything was super clean. We honestly didn’t want to leave! We’re definitely coming back next time we’re in town. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a cozy and welcoming vibe.

This place is unique and the true essence of what an hostel should be. The hosts are very friendly and will go above and beyond to make sure everyone feels welcome and have what they need. They act upon feedback and really have at heart the good time of their guests. I particularly liked the effort that was made to organize activities and meals to help create connection amongst the various people staying at the hostel. I would definitely stay again here.

Stefan is very kind and funny. You don't feel as a stranger at all. It's a beautiful and nice atmosphere. And it's very good located. You can easily walk to a supermarket or the ferry.

Amazing vibe! Stefan and Pedro great hosts and the hostel has a real family atmosphere! The hostel has a beautiful garden with hammocks, a working area, shared kitchen and very comfortable dorms (beds with curtain, light, power and fan). The family dinners organized are also delicious, highly recommend! Thank you Stefan and Pedro for this great stay and experience!

That I had to leave.

Wow!!! I arrived very early in the morning and was welcomed with hugs and a warm coffee. I was presented directly to everyone who was there and got to know all the strangers there. The name is program at this hostel. Loving strangers. I received so much love there, as we celebrated my birthday and all the people were singing. I had the time of my life!!! The breakfast is the very best I ever had. Homemade jam, pancakes and everything you could asked for. The owners are the sweetest guys I ever met. They hug you on every occasion and the cats are the best! Even the crumbiest one got warmed up to me. The beds and bathroom are very clean and everything is super cool. They have hammocks to hang out, a Familie dinner every other day where you meet all the strangers. They have a coworking space, a lovely garden and a lot of love to give. I felt very welcomed and the goodby hug made my cry, because I had to leave these lovely people behind!! If you are on Pico island, this is the best place to stay!!!
