Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomOne toilet in the ladies’ block kept getting blocked in the morning. A notice may be required for eine guests not to throw white paper towels into it.
Superb breakfast. Pancake mix; eggs to prepare an omelette; fresh juice; delicious bread; good coffee. Quiet pleasant ambient music. Staff present 8 am to 10 pm. Very clean. Wonderful Communal lounge and kitchen. Huge fridges. Rooftop terrace open to guests all day after after it closed at night to outsiders. Guests cooked food, left items for others to use labelling them “free”. Outside of hostel buzzing street with restaurants, live music, shops selling unique art, Sundays a food market.

GermanySmelly bathrooms
Great kitchen, AC in summer, very comfy beds. It's still a very new hostel (half a year old). The decoration was incredibly cool.

PortugalI missed a tv, and the noise outside the window (of air-condition? or something related to the bars around?) was a bit annoying (for someone who has trouble falling asleep :P)
I have to confess that, judging from the outside photo of the hostel, I was not expecting it would be so good. I had a very positive surprise! The room was comfortable and all the accommodation very clean; the staff were very nice and helpful; good breakfast. I've enjoyed it very much!

BelgiumAs the capsules are quite closed, a bit more fresh air in the dorm would have provided better sleep.
clean, tasteful interior, well-equipped kitchen, various breakfast options, lots of sunlight and cosy common area. The matras in the dorm is quite comfy, capsule has a large storage box that can be locked, which is very useful! Showers are great! I was there when the hostel was at full capacity, yet I never had the idea that it was crowded or too busy, which is really nice. Of course the rooftop is amazing for having breakfast, doing your yoga or chilling at the end of the day.

SerbiaLocking boxes are very noisy, if somebody needs to open it during the night, the whole hostel wakes up. None of the sightseeings are available by foot, though great location for somebody who knows how to use Lisbon public transport.
The whole concept is made beautifully, the beds are made in capsule style, everybody has its own locking box. Well-equiped kitchen, not bad breakfast. In neighbourhood there are a lot of shops, cafes, bus and tram stations. Lidl is in 2 minute walk. Also the hostel has rooftop bar that is very nice though overcrowded during the day.

The whole atmosphere was very relaxed and friendly. The other guests as well as the stuff werw friendly and open minded. The whole lx factory is a very cool and artful location.

SpainVery relaxed atmosphere, not a party hostel (or at least we were lucky!). I loved the privacy curtains in the dorm and the fact that the locker was at the back of the bed so there is no need to lock it every second plus it doubles as a night stand. Friendly staff specially the furry one! 🐶 Located in a great spot, full of bars and restaurants and a short ride away from city centre. (-) There is a weird/strong smell in the cubicles, probably from the detergent they use to wash the linen or some cleaning product. Nothing major but worth to mention.

MexicoNo hot water for the shower. And when asking to the staf to fix it, they just said the would call someone but then that person supposedly had their wife dying which is sad but seems like they were the only person in the whole city who could repair the problem so they didn't call anyone else and for 4 nights (and maybe more) the hostel had no hot water for everyone. At best, lukewarm water. 3 euros to rent a towel, expensive. Really strong and bad sewer smell. If you wanna experience Lisbon, this hostel is really far from the city centre. Even with public transport, it's not 15 or 20 minutes. The mattress gave me back pain. I am a seasoned backpacker and can handle the cheapest mattress but this one was really bad.
The place is clean, the staff is polite and the breakfast is nice. That's all I can say about it.

PolandIn the pictures, the sleeping cabins look very nice. But in reality, it is not like that: you have to get dressed lying down, it is so low that you enter like in a tent. The walls are made of cardboard, you can hear everything: footsteps in the corridor, loud conversations from the living room. No one respects the silence of the night, not even the staff. There is a freezer in the corridor from which the staff takes out ice by slamming the freezer door. I felt like I was sleeping at a train station. The noise from the street is less annoying than loud conversations at the reception. After a whole day of sightseeing, there is no way to rest. Breakfasts are very modest, weak. The bathrooms are dirty and smelly.

The mattress is very uncomfortable and hurts your back

PortugalWhen I woke up the day after I was bitten all over my body, so I can only imagine it’s bed bugs, which is horrible and now I’m so scared I have brought them home, I have my whole life upside down because of this. And I paid 49 euros for only one night in a cubicle, the bathroom had stuff from other people in the showers, no natural light in the room and it smelled, all of that for me to be bitten. Also the breakfast was very poor.
