Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Great place to stay in Porto. Close to a cheap parking, close enough to the highways, very close to the metro. Among the cheapest solutions in the city at the time. Very helpful and friendly personnel. Very clean room.

United StatesThe kitchen counter was wood and has seen better days. The whole place is nice but can tell it’s been worn down from years of use. Lots of good memories. The place was clean but felt a little gross.
The location, the curtains on the bunks, couldn’t feel the person above me moving, showers were good, nice staff

United KingdomIt was a high quality hostel. Located next to a major train station which was great as we had several days out by train. Metro link to city centre good too. ( we bought a monthly city pass). For a hostel, room, bedding etc good. Victor and the staff were very helpful too.

PortugalThe only think is that at night and in the morning some people didn’t respect the silent of the ones that were still sleeping and were talking loudly, even a staff member entered the room late at night and turned on the room light when people were already asleep. Oh and showers could also be really improved, not the best at all.
Everything was really comfy and clean, and the outside area is really nice.

CanadaThe neighborhood lacks shops and fine dining restaurants but I didn't expect any so I really wasn't disappointed at all.
The location couldn't be better for an overnight stay as it's directly across from the train/metro/bus intermodal station! The hostel is clean and cozy with a lovely backyard garden, and spacious communal kitchen. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the private room I reserved (Room 204) had a great bed, fresh white sheets and a private bathroom! There are a several small restaurants and coffee shops on the same street, as well as a Mini Preco supermarket!

BrazilMixed gender showers. Very small number of bathrooms/restrooms, and no soap reposition. Very noise and bouncy floors. Mad people would stumble on the ground on purpose to make noise.
Private beds even in the shared rooms. Very good location near the Capanhã Station.

Netherlands-
Great location right next to the train station, with very welcoming staff! I could easily leave my luggage at the reception before checking in. The main entrance needed a key to enter, and the rooms were open. The bed was comfortable with a curtain for privacy and a socket above the bed. Underneath the beds were lockable drawers. Everything was clean. There was free tea and coffee, a nice terrace, and a sweet dog walking around :)

Czech RepublicAlthough the neighborhood looks a bit frowzy, the house including the garden is a nice place to stay. Helpful staff and friendly atmosphere. What is really unusual (in the most positive way) is checking in from 12 o´clock! Ideal place if you travel by train (Capanha station) or by bus. The underground station and the local buses are just opposite. Suprisingly getting to the centre is cheaper and more comfortable by Bolt.

United StatesIf you want to see Porto you have to take metro ten mins into the main part of town. It’s not too bad and I like the area around the hostel too. For me the transit center was a priority but if I had different needs I may have prioritized being more centrally located. The place is also a bit shabby chic not super modern but for me this also gave it charm. All in all it was great!
I love the yard area outside. So tranquil and also had a great community feel with people chatting and hanging outside. Same as the kitchen. If you want a hostel where you can meet people this is the vibe. The staff was awesome too! I stayed in a double private room on the top floor and they carried my bag up the stairs for me. I left for a week to hike Camino and they held my luggage for me for free until I returned. For me being by the train and bus transit center made it very easy for getting in and out, going to the airport, going to my Camino stop, etc, etc.
