Absolutely anything!

Nuno is an exceptional host - super kind, extremely warm, and helpful! We absolutely loved him! He knows so much about many things; we learned a lot from him and received really helpful tips. Nuno pays great attention to detail, honoring his heritage in every aspect of his hospitality. Everything is planned meticulously, and even the soaps are handmade and from the region. The place is beautiful, super clean, and extremely comfortable. The house is also very warm due to the cork insulation. The views from the windows are great! Downstairs, there is a fireplace that Nuno keeps on, making it feel even cozier. I loved the fireplace, and because of that, Nuno kept it on in the morning so we could have breakfast while enjoying it! Thank you, Nuno! The breakfast was the best we could have - featuring all the typical and delicious food, traditional cheese, homemade jams, and fresh bread! We wish we had stayed longer, and we are definitely coming back again! Thank you Nuno, for an unforgettable experience!

Nuno is a wonderful host- very welcoming, helpful, and interesting to talk to. He welcomed us as if old friends, gave us good tips for enjoying the area, and made our stay very nice. Great shower and our room was nice and cozy (well heated, comfortable and very clean. He pays attention to details- (nice locally made soaps, jams, breads, cheese, etc.) breakfast was also very nice! We will definitely stay at Nuno's place again when we visit the area and have more time to explore!

Nuno was a friendly, knowledgeable host who answered my many questions about the region and even took the time to give me a walking tour of Sabugueiro. The lodging itself was quiet, warm, spacious and comfortable. Breakfast had some regional specialties, including a homemade pumpkin jam that was absolutely delicious. Sambuc'asa is in a small town in the mountains, with lots of places to walk, so it's perfect for nature lovers.

Sambuc’asa is a beautiful place to stay and Nuno is the perfect host with great information and local knowledge. The area has so much to offer and although the weather was not our friend this time we would return in a heartbeat.

Couldn’t fault it!

Sambuc’asa exceeded all expectations. The room was very clean and comfortable, recently renovated to a high standard. Beautiful views of the mountains from the bedroom and shared terrace. The shared kitchen was well equipped for cooking. Nuno was the perfect host - friendly and attentive, lots of knowledge of the area, genuine commitment to sustainability. He has put so much care and attention into the details - soaps and produce locally sourced and handmade. The breakfast was the highlight of our stay - delicious cheese from the region, jams and conserves grown and made by his friends/family/locals, freshly baked bread and biscuits/pastries delivered every morning. The village was peaceful and charming, great location for exploring the national park. Lovely river beach 5 mins walk away. Would highly recommend.

Everything was perfect — from the room itself and the hospitability of the owner to a cosy living room with a fireplace. The location is also great for hiking, bike rides and going around by car.

The best experience we've had! The place is quiet and very considerate — here circular economy and sustainability and really taken seriously. The owner is such a great host! The breakfast features freshly baked bread, homemade jam and cheese, and is just amazing. If this place is available, book it immediately and you won't regret it.
