Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe mattress on our bed was not conducive to a good sleep. It was extremely hard.
Our hosts were very kind, warm, and helpful. The property is beautiful and situated close to the Bussaco Forest. Our hosts spoke English very well, which we were grateful for and they gave us helpful directions and explanations. The breakfast was very good and we were given tea in the afternoon. Our room was attractive and the bathroom had a tub, which was very relaxing.

United StatesEverything!!
Everything! We were so welcomed by the lovely owners Maria & Oscar. They were very helpful recommending the 2 best restaurants nearby & building fires just for us where we sipped the wine that we brought & coffee in the morning. Our room was spacious, well appointed & had the best bedding that we’ve had so far. The bathroom was huge & everything was sparkling clean. The house is absolutely charming & filled with memories of their life here. Breakfast was amazing served by their lovely helper in their dining room very elegantly. We were offered Eggs, cheeses, meats, yogurt with a delicious platter of fruit, sooo many choices of the best breads & pastries, jams & butter with our tea & coffee. A feast! We just wished that we had booked more nights with them. Thank you dear Maria & Oscar!

GermanyWe walked from the bus stop, maybe only 200 metres, but along the main road without a big shoulder, so it felt a bit dangerous. And then up many stairs to the house. The owner said we could have called him to pick us up, which was sweet, but we didn't know beforehand.
Grand old period home. Comfy beds, lots of bedding as it can get chilly in winter. Huge old bathroom, but it did the job. Very nice breakfast spread.

PortugalIt’s like being back in the old days. The ancient villa is located in a park off the main road. It is furnished in a classic way as it should. The room was spacious, clean and had very good large beds. The bathroom was spacious, light and modernized. The breakfast was as it should be, good. The owner and his wife are kind and hospitable.

Staying at Vila Duparchy is like stepping back into a more civilised and refined time, like entering a 19th century novel set in the Big House. I was welcomed like a long lost relative or friend in this beautifully preserved period property, with every modern convenience. I would highly recommend a stay at the Vila.

Czech RepublicCharming little castle with so friendly owners! The room was very clean and the breakfast really good. We appreciated the willingness to provide us with an extra service like earlier check-in, olives and pickles for our wine in the evening or earlier breakfast. The place is beautiful and has a magic garden with a pool. We were really happy.

GermanyThe facilities of the hotel are a bit old-school, and not everyone might appreciate this. However, we really liked it and it brought back many memories.
The Accomodation is located in a beautiful, green setting and with lots of space around. The room we had was also super spacious. We were able to park our bikes in a safe location. From the hotel it is only a short walk into Luso. The host was incredible friendly. Breakfast was nice and plenty. We only stayed for a night but really liked the place and certainly would come back.

United StatesWe were there in off season in March and it was pretty chilly in the evenings in the room - the radiators were turned on and there was a portable heater, but the ceilings are very high so the room didn’t heat up too well. The villa is an amazing property but it is run down and needs serious investment. The family is doing what they can. In peak season, it may be very different.
Wonderful location near Luso and Mealhada. Amazing property tucked away on small hill. There are citrus trees, a nice garden and beautiful old trees. Plenty of space in the room and access to the house living room for reading or TV in the evening. Breakfast was delicious, with fresh jam, fresh squeezed OJ, and much more, served in a formal dining room. Pool wasn’t open (it was March) but you can sit next to it and enjoy the garden/sun.
