We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

QatarI booked a villa and while arriving they assigned one villa coordinator with me. The coordinator was always delaying in response. The guest services response also always delayed. Usually for villa, they prepare our car while come back to port after check out in advance for us, however this time they didn’t. I went by my self to pick my car from parking, around 3 minutes walking.

QatarThe breakfast: multiple items in the buffet felt low quality, overcooked or excessively sugary (shakshuka felt way overdone, some peas and mushroom dish felt like it was from frozen veggies and also overcooked, coffee was just ok). So it's not ideal for someone looking for a healthy breakfast. We were both disappointed. It also felt that at the Arabic restaurant, they didn't have enough staff for the rush because we sat down with one napkin and didn't get served water until like after 15 minutes after sitting down, but the staff themselves, although seemingly overworked, were gracious and accommodating.
The facilities are excellent for families. It's great for people living in Doha with babies, for example, because it's a quick getaway. I especially liked our duty manager Taufiq and one of the waitresses at the American diner named Chit Su who were both very gracious. The room was good although if you're sensitive to light, come with a sleeping mask because it doesn't go fully dark. Dinner at the Arabic restaurant was very tasty.

FranceDue to their in-adjustable dim low lighting in the balcony, I happen to ran into their glass door and broke my nose. Spent most of the check-in day with the nurse and didn’t get to do much. When we went to the reception regarding this incident and they didn’t offer anything to compensate or even as a gesture. Besides that, the bed sheets weren’t comfortable or warm. The room is pretty cold and there’s no way to increase the temperature of the room. Island overall lacks activities and their food quality is terrible and overpriced. This is my second time on the island, the first I went home with food poisoning after having a meal at TEDs diner. This time around I vowed not to eat there and went around the island trying all their restaurants only to be disappointed by the quality. Unfortunately even the breakfast was extremely disappointing. Overall the customer service is great, however the activities, the potential and the food quality could definitely use a serious upgrade especially for a resort that claims to be “luxurious”.
The Staff personal overall were really nice and helpful

First of all before I state why I have not rated a 10 stars I would like to say a big thanks to the following people for their hospitality and kindness. If it wasn't for these people it would have been zero stars. Shahed. Zubayer. Ronald. Osama. Noroshana.A great thanks to the bengali guy that works at the port. What a guy made experience amazing before I got to the island. His abit in the older side.

United KingdomWe were beyond excited to be going to Banana Island, we had done our research, looked at reviews and considering it was nearly £600 a night we thought we’d be in for a luxurious 4 nights stay. When we arrived at the port we were “wowed” the marble reception looked 5 star and despite the very long, drawn out check in we were happy. Boarding the boat and the greeting from staff was lovely and the reception area looked like we were entering into paradise. On first inspection I did notice the managers desk looked a bit “chipped” around the edges but thought nothing of it … I should have realised then that this resort was “all fur and no knickers”. Initial thoughts of our room was good, however we soon noticed stains on the sofa, a bath tub that wouldn’t fill, old fashioned blue and white striped xx that had seen better days. We were also located directly above the childrens water park which was not quite what we had in mind but the hotel did agree to look into moving us. We decided to explore the island and ventured along the beach, we were greeted by a lovely member of staff who promptly asked us if we wanted any beds reserving for the following day as “it gets very busy when the day trippers arrive” we asked whether there was an area just for people staying on the island which, sadly there was not. The wooden sun beds had definitely seen better days, as had the covers, some of the beds didn’t even have covers on them. But we carried on … until we got to breakfast .. and we honestly felt like we were in butlins holiday camp! It was extremely busy, we had to wait for a table, the food was OK but was not being replenished, so we were all fighting over the last yoghurt. Despite the staff doing their best it was like they were running around like mad men, no interaction about our stay, it was just a chaotic mess. It was at that point we decided to call it a day and cut our stay short. We shared our thoughts with the manager who promptly upgraded us to a suite a

Saudi ArabiaIt should be called a kindergarten not a resort. It’s full of kids who were everywhere and shouting !! The room view was sea view, but also overlooking a pool. We could not enjoy the balcony due to the crazy shouting of the kids !! During breakfast it was a whole different level, in addition to the crying and screaming, some kids were still in their pajamas, seems like there were dragged straight out of bed ! Other kids were placing their feet on the table ! And just outdoors the kids were playing football near the tables, the ball almost hit me walking back to my table. Embarkment of the ferry was messy ! There was no order what so ever ! One family of 8 rushed to the doors disregarding everyone who was in line ! The staff did not even say a word ! The check out process was not nice ! I booked the 1 pm ferry out of the island and called the reception twice at 12:00 & 12:30 to collect my luggage, 12:45 comes and no one showed up !! On the way back in the ferry, the same kids issue appeared. Kids standing up on the seats and screaming ! One of the kids had his foot almost on our faces ! Upon arrival the valet lost my car keys. I had to wait for 30 minutes. What’s funny is, they brought me someone else’s car !!! Bottom line is, you may go there for an adventure of the unknowns but not a relaxing resort getaway
Location was excellent The room was clean and nicely equipped

United Kingdom- broken locks on bathroom door - dirty water running from bathroom tap, appeared to be brown/orange in colour which in itself is a health and safety hazard - tv was not working - everything on the island closes early, so there is not much to do - food was substandard, we ate at the QLounge. The staff was also quite slow in preparing this. - there was an issue where the power/lights to the villa kept turning off - we went for a walk and took our key cards but upon return could not get back into the villa. We had to wait over 15 mins for someone to come and open the door. At which point we were given two new key cards, one of which did not work - we were told prior to our stay (via booking.com) and on the day we arrived by the staff on the island that a boat was due to leave at 12.30 which left us sufficient time to catch our flight. However, on the day, we were then told that the boat was due to leave at 1pm to go back to the mainland which meant that we were rushing to catch our flight - when voicing this to the staff, they said they’d offer us a free lunch but know that we are leaving. On email, the staff claimed that they had offered us a complimentary taxi, which upon further communication they backtracked and said that they were wrong. When we had mentioned the above issues to the night manager, he told us to please not leave any negative reviews but did absolutely nothing to resolve our concerns.
The pool, although the jacuzzi feature did not work properly.
