Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Qatar- when I arrived for check-in I waited more than 5 minutes just to wait for the only 1 available receptionist to finish his long-call with another arguing customer. - During my stay, the door opend suddenly by a hotel staff by the master key without any knocking or using the bell. And my family where inside. Then they start to say: "IT WAS A MISTAKE, I THOUGHT THE ROOM IS EMPTY. I AM REALLY SORRY SIR" 😡 -the hotel is more than 1 years old and breakfast buffet resturant have not opened yet!! .The breakfast was NOT buffet, you have to choose between Continental or Arabic set Menu!!! - They do not let you have a key of your car with you which is really annoying 😡😡 waiting for them to bring the car. The valet parking is mandatory!!! - I have to walk or wait to use the golf car whenever I need to go to the next building (Quest Themepark and Cinema) . The do NOT utilize the existing air-condition connecting bridge😡😡😡..
- I like the minimum use of normal concrete walls. Most of it are glass walls!!! which makes me enjoy the view and the sunlight. - I like the view from the bath which shows the skyline of doha and the Arabian Gulf - I like the cleanless of the hotel

Saudi ArabiaThis was my first time booking a room costing over $610, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. There was ongoing construction right above my room in the morning, making it impossible to sleep !!! and I was not informed about this in advance. The main reason for choosing a 5-star hotel is to enjoy a restful night, which I didn’t get! This was truly frustrating and not what I expected from a luxury stay.
The staff were exceptional — helpful, kind, and truly dedicated. I had an incident where my child bumped his head, and the entire team immediately stepped in, guiding us to the first aid clinic with professionalism and care. I’m incredibly grateful for their support and kindness during that stressful moment. The room was spotless and beautifully maintained. I can’t thank the staff enough for making our experience so positive

United KingdomBesides the terrible experience we had, we realised this hotel is a massive disappointment for anyone that knows other Banyan Trees and expect the same. The location is terrible, all the big brand hotels are in West Bay or The Pearl near to the beautiful and touristic parts of the city, this one is in the downtown next to pretty ugly buildings. The breakfast was not a lux buffet as expected, it was a lame choice of three different breakfasts which means your options are limited and also they are incredibly slow so we had to wait a very long time to get our food - which is less than ideal travelling with kids. The staff is the most unprepared, unfriendly and unhelpful we have encountered, only the one lady at the breakfast was nice and helpful (unfortunately we don't remember her name) Their outdoor pool is horrible, with no view whatsoever and not cosy or luxurious at all. WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL TO OUR WORST ENEMIES. They are not what a Banyan Tree is supposed to be. They only charge you like a Banyan Tree but fail to provide the same. The biggest disappointment of our lives!
This has by far been the most disappointing experience we have ever had. First the hotel contacted us 1 week before our check-in date to tell us they were giving us an "upgrade" to a bigger room. We immediately identified this was not really an upgrade but a matter of overselling the hotel as this "better" room was not in the same hotel building. We were assured that we would have access to all of the hotel facilities and that both buildings were connected by a bridge so we didn't have to exit to the street to get to the hotel - BOTH OF THOSE PROMISES A LIE! When we arrived to the hotel the whole hotel was surrounded by police, inside and out and WE WERE NOT ALLOWED TO USE ANY FACILITIES INSIDE THE HOTEL. Even the lobby was inaccessible to us. Only one restaurant we could use for breakfast and we were ASKED TO ENTER AND EXIT FROM THE STREET. We were made feel so unwelcomed that we chose to leave to another hotel. Upon checkout I decided to use the restroom and police was waiting for me outside and asked me to leave from the back door. All of this because the hotel decided to welcome a French football team from Paris that is sponsored by Qatar. On repeated occasions we told them if they knew the hotel would be inaccessible to guests why to even bother receiving guests. We tried to get a refund in multiple times and they denied saying the booking was not refundable. We have stayed at various Banyan Tree around the world and this experience puts the whole brand into disrepute. WHAT KIND OF HOTEL RECEIVES GUESTS KNOWING THEY WONT BE ABLE TO USE THE HOTEL? The whole staff was completely unapologetic as if we were the weird ones for being upset about this situation. In the end we managed to get a partial refund, but that was after multiple escalations and complaints.

KuwaitDear HotelManagement, I am writing to express my disappointment with the service I received during my recent stay at your hotel. I had booked a two-bedroom suite [mention the booking details, e.g., confirmation number, dates] two months in advance, as I was traveling with my family, including young children. However, upon check-in, I was informed that only a residence was available, and no solution could be offered due to the hotel being fully booked. This was extremely upsetting as I had planned this trip carefully, expecting a smooth and comfortable stay. It was unacceptable that my confirmed booking was not honored, and no alternative arrangements were provided. This caused great inconvenience to me and my family. I hope you take this feedback seriously and implement measures to ensure that other guests do not face similar issues in the future. I also expect a response or resolution to address this matter. Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely, [Fahad Alkhaledi]
