  • Palazzo Degli Abati Review Score: 9

“The staff are lovely, the location was ideal and Matera is an amazing place to visit”

  • “Amazing hotel. Comfortable room and bed. Beautiful interior design and good breakfast. A bit far from the center but at least we could park the car without extra costs.”

  • Hotel Dolomiti Review Score: 10

    “Everything was excellent”

  • Palazzo Zagarella HOWME Review Score: 8

“Position and staff was very good! Just a suggestion from my side, they should have some amenities for the kitchen to be used as: kitchen towel, soap and seasoning. I stayed a night, I wasn’t going to buy this stuff to leave in their kitchen. I think they should provide, but the rest exceptional!”

  • Le Malve Cave Retreat Review Score: 10

“This is a stunning cave hotel, in the heart of one of the historic Sassi districts, and only a 10 to 15min walk from the main square of Matera. The conversion of the cave rooms to a hotel has been done extremely well, including a shower (with waterfall jets) in a part of the cave. We stayed in room 19, which was stunning. The bed was very comfortable. The hosts, Sara and Gianvito, were welcoming, friendly and kind, and spoke good English (which helps as we don't speak Italian!). An exceptional place to stay in Matera. We would definitely stay there again if we can!”

    “Breakfast was good, beds comfy”

  • “Amazing location, close to the Sassi district. Lots of lovely restaurants nearby. The cave room was amazing. My 6 year old loves our whole stay in Matera. It’s a shame though that kids can’t use the spa pool, even if just during designated time slots. It meant that we did t get to use it, which was a shame”

  • Palazzo Viceconte Review Score: 9

“Situated in a beautifully renovated old palace with staffing and service levels way above what we paid. Very much an off season rental - bar was closed etc... but a great stay. Very well situated in the middle of the restricted access area of the town, easy access to many of the troglodyte houses. The hotel provides parking at €30 per night, but worth the convenience (you have to follow a specific route to get to the hotel to avoid fines and they have to inform the local police of your number plate...)”

  • “Rooms were very comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Staff were excellent and very responsive.”

  • Cenobio Hotel & SPA Matera Review Score: 10

“Everything was great. Mario and the rest of the team were super friendly and helpful. The location and the room were astonishing.”
