“we arrived after dark so didn’t get to enjoy the view until the following morning !
The chalet style cabin was great , enough space , clean and comfortable.
Host was charming and helpful .
Although the cabin was close to the road ( there is a road small between the property and the beach ) it was not at all noisy as little traffic .
the gardens of the property are beautifully kept and it was clear that it was importantly to the hose that his guests are content .
the beach across the road is lovely but ( and this is our only negative point, and not the hosts fault at all !) there is a fair amount of litter in this stretch of coastline .
We followed the road to its end at the point where there is a small wooded area and a great vista to see the sea in one side meeting the lagoon river . You can see the lighthouse as well . In the evening / nighttime you can watch the fisherman standing in the water casting their nets by light in the lagoon to catch prawn and fish .”
“For a pocket of luxury, Amaya Beach was a serene dream. The breakfast buffet was vast, catering to different nationalities. We particularly liked the hopper station and egg station all cooked to order, with kotta and other sambals to add. The pool was relaxed but a little hot like a bath. This cooled after a storm and was much more refreshing (yet still really warm!). The Honey Beach Bar provided more affordable meals if you're on B&B. The evening buffet wasn't worth it - costly and lacked any standout dish or ingredient. Note there aren't restaurants to choose from in the area - just those of the big hotels in the bay. We found the all inclusive guests a little rowdy and disrespectful of the space, staff and other guests.”
“Dive centre is good for what it is- good, simple and comfortable facility for sleeping and going diving. Very helpful staff who can point you in the right direction of amenities and restaurants in town, although the food served was perfectly good.”
“Amazing pool, Adil the resident manager was truly exceptional. The night time lagoon boat ride to hear the singing fish was amazing. The fish eagle family that live in a tree by the hotel was incredible. A great place to stay!”

“You clearly pay for the beach here, which for my was absolutely worth it. Beautiful, clean beach. The water was calm and perfect for swimming. The pool area is very nice. Staff was friendly and attentive. The rooms are dark and a bit dated. It it’s very hot in the bathroom, so hot that one of my face creams got bad. Breakfast was nice, dinner was okay. The Sri Lankan options are so much better than the western ones. The cooks should really focus on the local dishes.”
