“No phone service. Little bit expensive and my room didn’t look like the one I booked on booking.com. The blinds were broken so I couldn’t put them up or down easily. You have to park right at the top and carry your luggage all the way down the hill which isn’t disability friendly or might be a bit hard for elderly people. I’m sure if you ask they would let you drive your car down though?”
“Starting with the things we loved:
-the staff are very welcoming
-the cabins/campground are located in a lovely rainforest area.
-the cafe next to the lodge serves delicious coffee and meals
-the cabin we stayed in (number 8) was modern, with great aircon, the bathroom was modern too. Everything was clean.
The only complaint was that, even though we requested a queen size bed, we got two single beds pushed together which makes it uncomfortable for couples to sleep on. We also found the mattresses way too soft. We didn't have good night sleep”
“Beautiful setting and excellent accommodation. Being raised slightly on a hillside means it is nice and light rather than being buried in the forest. We visited other places we were considering staying and we were so pleased we stayed here. Easy access to everywhere on the Cape. Very good value when compared to some other properties. Lillian is an excellent host.”
“Beautiful location but the rooms were a little outdated and need a bit of attention. Screen door didn’t close properly and as a result my family were eaten alive on the last night.”
“Amazing location and super friendly staff. Jason & his team really look after their guests, the food was great and the cabins are very well appointed. Highly recommended for a magical rainforest experience.👏👏”
“The cabins high in the trees are really nice, however the cleanliness could be improved a little. The fan above the bed hadn’t been cleaned in a while and was dirty and the fly screens could have done with a clean since they were quite dominant when looking out. It was advertised as having a gym and spa. We didn’t go into the spa because it was locked and I think only offered treatments by appointment which is fine so no other facilities. The gym was dirty and you would not use it and it was just a bike, 1 other machine and some weights in a small room with hardly any natural light. The food in the restaurant was adequate if slightly disappointing for a resort at this price point. The walking path was blocked with palms that had dropped and it was clear there was little maintenance of these. The swimming creak was a real stretch and we didn’t see anyone go in since it was so small.
The staff were very nice though.
So overall at this price point it was very disappointing. We stayed at 2 more properties after for 40% of the rate and they were far superior but didn’t have a restaurant so that accounts for some of the difference.”
