“No one was there, location was awful and the place smelt bad”

  • NO NAME GUESTHOUSE Review Score: 10

“I had a wonderful stay at NoName Guest House. The location was absolutely perfect - just a quick 3-minute walk to the beach! My room was comfortable, well-ventilated, and the bathroom was spotless. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!”

“Only stayed for one night but booked for 2 as going on an E-bike tour the following day. The entrance to the property is around the back, but do not be put off by this, it’s just that I’m a female solo traveller so am always on alert. The facilities were clean, toiletries provided. You have Access to the kitchen for tea, coffee etc. The bed was a bit hard but not a problem. I had a balcony in my room which was most welcome. The homestay is around a 8 minute walk to the Basilica Of Bon Jesus, Si Chaple, Archaeology museum and the other church’s are all within walking distance but if not you can get a rickshaw. The owner organised a taxi for my return journey to Anjuna for a reasonable price and the driver, his friend, was so friendly and knowledgeable, thank you guys.”

“The manager tried to make me stay in a different hotel to what I’d booked because he wanted more money than the booking.com price. I’m glad I didn’t stay as the hotel was a dump outside the rooms and after all the effort finding the place i didn’t need rude staff with attitude problems!”

“The host was very helpful, they went out of their way to make me comfortable. I really appreciate the late night pickup and drop from the temple without over charging.”

“Lovely couple made you feel at home as soon as you met them. Hot showers and it is very near the bus station if you want to use the bus”

  • Ederra Stays & Cafe Review Score: 8

“Location is superb, cafe underneath has good coffee! The staff are absolutely lovely and went so far out of their way to help us (taxi, laundry, even boxes for sending parcels home). The room was really spacious and plenty comfortable for a 4 day stay, with storage space and a couple of comfy chairs (even a rocking chair!) The room on the left is a lot nicer. Room for improvement - the aircon was very old and very loud (though it did work). The balcony was so filthy that we avoided going out there... not really a usable space, the dust and dirt looked like the accumulation of years. There's no desk in the room, which made remote work a bit more tricky. No room clean / housekeeping provided, so we were using the same towels and linens for the whole trip (not a huge deal as it was only 5 days) and the bin got very full.”

  • Fusion Home Review Score: 10

“I had a wonderful stay in Beni and Pete’s home. The garden was beautiful, as in the pictures and the facilities fabulous. Beni and Pete are so caring and even took me out one evening for a meal with their family. They are so kind and checked in with me to make sure I was safe whilst I travelled to Old Goa for an over night stay. Beni is a lovely lady, so kind and caring. Pete organised taxis at reasonable prices for me. I felt safe and cared for during my stay. I would highly recommend staying here especially as a solo female traveller, you won’t be disappointed. Anjuna flea market is less then 10 minutes walk away and the Hilltop market is a 8 minute taxi away. I highly recommend a visit here for unique gifts, hypnotic music and a lovely and safe vibe. Anjuna beach 12 minute walk. Flea market, 10 mins walk away, Baga beach 20 mins via Rickshaw”

  • Little India Beach Cottages Review Score: 10

“We stayed here for two nights before we headed to the south, and we wished we booked more nights ! This is in the middle of Baga and Calangate beach, it was only a handful of people where our beach was which was great! When we walked down to Baga beach it was very busy. Beautiful cottages and scenery. It is not directly on the beach which is what I thought when I booked it, however it turned out to be a positive, it was a minute or two walk to the beach through gorgeous pathway, the beach was full of bars and shacks that had music on of a night anyway so we didn’t hear a peep from where our cottage was. It also has a pool which was perfect to get away from the summer heat. The restaurant that is accompanied by the cottages was brilliant ! All the staff was very helpful and kind, we had lovely food and drinks here. It is also beach lounges included for hotel guests which was great. All the staff were amazing, helpful and lovely ! The only slight negative I would mention is there are a few ladies offering jewellery/massages, one or two offers is great but after a couple times saying no it felt a little awkward ! But never less the ladies are very kind and helpful, lovely to chat to and they are only trying to do their job 😊 Overall we loved our stay and would stay again !!”
