“Short walk from the ferry terminal (~10min), short distance to almost all of central Fukue (because the town is quite small). A big supermarket is about 15min walking away (good selection). The host was very kind, the kitchen well-equipped, and the location quiet. Very comfortable beds!”
“We opted for dinner and the food was delicious.
The environment made us comfortable and all the staffs were friendly and helpful. We received assistance in renting the bikes to go around as well.
Even during the booking process, Shimayado Goen has been very helpful and prompt in response.”
“We had a wonderful stay at Oteragoto on Fukue, it was one of the most charming places we’ve stayed in over 2 months in Japan! In particular, the room was very large, the bathroom was like having a private sento, the e-bikes allowed us to cycle across the whole island, and most of all Onishi was the best host. She was able to make us restaurant reservations, allowed us to check out late, and even drove us to the airport.”
“Sacho, the owner of the property, is one of the best hosts you could wish for. She went way beyond the call of duty to make my stay on the Goto Island of Fukue enjoyable. She drive me all the way to Takehama Beach upon my arrival as I didn't have a car and buses did not travel there and she even picked me up. She also assisted me in making a reservation for dinner and dropped me to the ferry on my last day. Her house is impeccably clean, and she has two lovely children. The bedroom has a futon and is small, but has everything you need. I highly recommend this accommodation. Thank you Sacho for making me feel so comfortable in your home. You made my trip to Goto a very memorable one.”
“A quiet, peaceful island getaway. Fluent English is spoken by the hotel owner and some workers. We were given excellent guidance and maps of the island on arrival, which was VERY useful as the roads are quite narrow at times. We drove, but you can walk to many places. Bicycle (rental available) is also good. Excellent coffee shops can be found with guidance. Breakfast and dinner in the hotel dining room were superb. Japanese style. Coffee also great, and available free all day. Of course, the hospitality is top notch . . . it's Japan. We'll be back.”
